NTAuthority Posted March 15, 2010 Share Posted March 15, 2010 As far as the official no-DVD goes, it's likely equal to the LaunchGTAIV.exe distributed on Steam, which also works on normal retail game versions. As for the topic, the only thing I would want is the shadow bug getting fixed, and the scripting system not being replaced again. A bit better performance on mid-range GPUs could also help, but is even more unlikely than IV getting ported to D3D10. Picked up Just Cause 2 myself last week and got about 10-11 hours into it. Fantastic game! Fantastic looking also! Really nice to see shadows that aren't dotted for a change. Now some people wonder why I make such a big deal about the moon missing from GTA 4 in he PC version. To me it is more a case of "if they missed the bloody moon what else did they leave out of the PC version ?". The missing moon is a glaring error and it shows how amateur and unprofessional Rockstar were with the PC version. I hate to do company comparisons but since getting Just Cause 2 it has opened my eyes to how the PC should be treated. Here we have a company that managed to produce the 360, PS3 and PC versions of the game and released them ON TIME and ALTOGETHER. Not only that but the PC version is a significant upgrade from the console version. I find it quite staggering that a small company such as Avalanche can do this but Rockstar the creator of a billion dollar franchise can't seem to do it. They can't distribute new DVD's t the people who bought it. As said in one earlier comment. What's done is done. Rather than that most of the points are right. Also the crash thingy and the modded files need to be fixed. We bought the game so we do have little rights to mod our game in free modes. Don't we??? True, true but that's what happens when they signed up to exclusive deals. You're right about JC2 though, it's 'much' better on the PC and has some nice modern graphics' features like SSAO, CUDA water and various other features. The down side for XP users is, it's only DX10 but atleast you get Anti-aliasing and no GPU memory cap. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
