EFLC is not DLC it's a stand alone disc

OK but it's only 3% the sales performance of GTA IV's first week (6 million copies). And that, people, is why they didn't pay to re-license the GTA IV soundtrack.

The download numbers must be very high.

EDIT: GTA IV's first week.

http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly.php?date=39572&boxartz=1#

Only 5% as many Xbox 360 owners bought EFLC the first week as bought GTA IV the first week.

If you rented it, like me, you're still likely to buy it later on, or you're a hold out for PS3 or a second console (360), still, just early sales, they'll build. He means DLC is not a full game, and as such, two of them for less then $60 ain't nuthin' to sneeze at either. It's a fairly good deal, and I like the disc system.

Not very impressive in comparrison to GTA IV sales

I'm confused as to the DLC and Episodes disc combined for the total figure?

It's not a stretch to suggest that first time GTA4 buyers made up their minds after a month of owning that GTA4 was a disappointment for them, that neither DLC was appealing, We all discussed this apparent backlash against GTA4 for months upon it's release. Those fair-weather fans are not welcome here, let me just say, I think their arguments against GTA are bogus anyway, I find it highly appealing still. Love the city where you can do what you want within it's confines, it works simply as a digital sandbox playground!

It's just EFLC sales and it's just first week, and remember it's only on 360. TBoGT problably sold loads this first week, and also not to forget that TLAD sold loads first week aswell, and there's possibly people that bought that and will buy EFLC instead of downloading TBoGT as DLC, but since they already bought TLAD will wait a bit.

So just chillax. x)

And or possibly.... The Lost and the Damned was found more appealing, and seems the better of the two on top of that, that Ballad of GAY any-body is found not to their liking on account of the Gay-factor! hahaha

Just suggesting. The gay factor was there, but amped up now. Gay Tony Prince is actually quite a well drawn character, in this game. As I mentioned leading him out of a building where there were plenty of bad guys, to me it felt like the mission in SA with the blind casino owner in San Fierro/LV, man, been so long I forgot his name, I hate to say it. I will have to play SA again when I have time, I just find that GTA4 still holds charm

That sucks... It deserves way more... Rockstar deserves more sales... I certaintly hope The Ballad of Gay Tony had lots of more sales in terms of downloads on XBL because this is pretty bad for EFLC..

I too expected better sales for GTA EFLC, but I guess people weren't as interested for an add-on even if it doesn't need the original GTA IV to play it. I just hope the GTA fanbase isn't dying off and when GTA NeXt is released that would sell even better than GTA IV.

@Slamman: The blind casino owner and Triad leader is Woozie (or Wu Zi Mu I believe). Man, that was an awesome character. He must been one of the only mafia leaders in a GTA game never to betray the protagonist (other than Salvatore Leone in GTA LCS, and even then Sal was somewhat of a dick).

I'm sure they lost a lot of sales because of the name The Ballad of Gay Tony. I asked a bunch of my friends about it and at first they said they're getting it but after finding out it revolves around a gay guy they decided not to after all.

Wow.. That's actually annoying... Pathetic f*cking people is what that is... God damit.. Meh, I can't be bothered with it.. But you have some serious problems with your sexuality if you're not getting it because there are gay people in it.

My god... f*ck.... that's just... sad

Well they were pretty much all casual gamers. They're not the type to follow the game right up until the release date, so they just assumed the gay aspect of it would make it suck.

It must suck for Rockstar, making a great name but losing out on a bunch of sales because of the title. They must have seen this coming though.

Wow that sucks...

I hope GTA IV isn't the climax of the GTA franchise...that would suck badly.

Hope people are still interested when GTA NEXT cums out.

well Chinatown Wars on DS didn't do very well either. which is a shame because it's an excellent game. the PSP version did even worse - 12,000 sold in the first week.

you can see the comparison between EFLC, CW DS and CW PSP sales on their first two weeks here.

CTW PSP is just a shoddy port, Rockstar have bribed reviewers "BEST PSP GRAPHICS OF ALL TIME!" f*ck off, GTA released 3 years ago looks better than CTW, I wonder how much money Rockstar lined those pockets with.

On the plus side, The Lost and Damned DLC sold over 1.4 Million, so even though everyone here seems to hate TLAD, at least it sold well enough to make it's money back! smile.gif

I hope they did poor on LIVE as well, it shows not to do exclusivity, and don't lie if you're a PS3/PC player, you're thinking the samething.

If it was a PS3 exclusive, would you be saying the same thing? I bet not.

Nope. How is it being a fanboy if I think everyone deserves to get it?

And yes, I would say the samething because I own both. Derr.

I don't think R* realizes most people just aren't interested in playing with different characters outside the very limited hardcore fanbase who will eat anything they pick up. They should have spent the time fixing the bugs in GTA IV and working on the next game...

i hope you guys relise vgchartz is one of the most unreliable websites on the net and these numbers do not include downloads(which is where most people will have got BOGT from).

it wouldnt suprise me if microsoft came out with a press release in a month or 2 showing how well these downloads have done.

i can't believe these sony fanboys are still here, bitter as ever about microsoft getting these episodes.

Learn to read I said I own both. Exclusive DLC just shouldn't have happened to a game that came out originally for both systems. If lessoned learned it won't happen to just Xbox players or Sony players again. More devolopers will see that exclusivity doesn't work and will release more games for all platforms. But it's dumb to just sit there acting like an idiot, sucking on Rockstars dick all the time , and hoping they do well when it comes to exclusivity, because if they do well they just are going to make more and more things exclusive. For example, radio stations are just a start.

learn to read, did i mention your name once in my post?

to answer your points though, exclusivity does work. otherwise why aren't all games that aren't made by a first party developer made on all platforms? why should all platforms get all the content????(this next part isn't directed at you) for example if you bought a ps3 and wanted the whole gta experience, you bought the wrong console, end of. you can't say well all consoles should get the content, it doesn't work like that. Microsoft paid for the content and Sony didn't, how is there any argument over that? its simple but i guess some fanboys are just blind.

Then tell me who you are talking to and I'll admit my fault, because nobody was pledging for PS3 in the first place.

Idiots ( not intended at you ) are too stupid and fanboyish to not want other people to experience the game. Why suck off Rockstar and Microsoft so much? They aren't giving you any money for this so I'm interested to know why you care about their sales. And no exclusive does not work. Not from the consumer end. Any person who isn't a deluded Rockstar fanboy,or a Sony/ Microsoft employee wouldn't want this to keep happening.

your completely missing the point, no one here does not want the content to come to ps3 or pc, i personally couldn't care less. but why do you think it should? just because you and some playstations fans want it to, why should it? you haven't given a reasonable explanation.

once again Microsoft paid for it, Microsoft got it, this isn't me saying playstation shouldn't get it, this is a fact. nothing more, but its like banging my head against a brick wall, im not going to it get through am i.

There are plenty of people on here who's one goal is to rub it in peoples faces that this is an exclusive, so no I didn't miss the point. Why should it come on PS3 and PC? I have a reasonable answer for that. Because we all bought GTA IV on our preferred consoles. Simple as that. I'm not saying Microsoft doesn't deserve the exclusivity for paying for it, I'm saying I hope this fails. No one console should ever get an exclusive DLC from a game that came out on all platforms. That's my view. Technically Microsoft deserves what they pay for but everyone should be able to enjoy it. It's not factual of what I believe it's an opinion. And you still don't have an answer to my first question.

Why does everyone say this? Everyone says every source is unreliable. Then why the hell do they exist?

I bet a lot more people downloaded it, considering they most likely already had TLAD as well and would've rather spent $20 instead of $40 obviously. I mean hell, this past week GTA IV jumped from #8 to #4 in terms of unique users on Xbox Live (only behind Halo 3 and COD4 & WaW)
