Recommended Posts

1.Sephiroth. For being badass for a reason I don't know

2.Andrew Ryan (I know heisn't really important towards the end of the gamebut i thought he was really well done adn come on- you can't say you didn't like that speech.

3:Liquid Snake

4.Zeus(God of War 2)

5.Kefka

Dr Robotnic

Kupa Troopa's

Evil Lady Jedi from KOTOR 2. I know some people didn't like this game, but I thought she was a cool character... Can't remember her name.

I feel cheesy as hell when I say this; Sephiroth. He is indeed badass!

The Panther King from Conkers: Bad fur day.

Having a heck of a time trying to remember some good ones.

Mainland Marauder

Kefka was much cooler than emo-boy Sephiroth, and VI was a better Final Fantasy than VII.

In no order.

Kefka.

Officer Tenpenny. (Though you could tie guys like Pulaski in there too; the concept of "villain" is kind of tenuous in GTA anyway)

Colonel Volgin.

Liquid Snake. (note I'm a bit of a MGS fan)

The other paddle in Pong. ph34r.gif

Haha! Four pixels of pure evil!

5. Skorge from Gears of War 2.

4. General RAAM from Gears of War.

3. Imran Zakhaev from Modern Warfare.

2. G Man from the Half Life series.

1. Liquid Ocelot from Guns of the Patriots, and well, the other Metal Gear games.

Special shout goes to Colonel Mael Radec from Killzone 2, who I've never even managed to get to because of his stupid f*cking guards. Damn me for playing on the hard difficulty! cryani.gif

Oh, and he's voiced by Sean Pertwee, which is just awesome. inlove.gif

Also, President John Henry Eden from Fallout 3, for being voiced by Malcom McDowell, and for turning out to be a computer.

2. G Man from the Half Life series.

Well that one is kinda debatable. G-Man has ended up saving Gordon Freeman and Adrian Shepherd multiple times, it's not really known if he is a villain or not.

Come on, look at him, he's f*ckING EVIL. biggrin.gif

1. Gray Fox, bad guy turned good at the end. Loved his story, how he help Naomi, was tortured as a test subject. Awesome suit, invisibility, sword, voice, high athletic power, and the list goes on.

2. Liquid Snake, in his actual body, I loved his voice and his hair and how he looked all badass. lol I hated Liquid Ocelot in MGS4.

3. Psycho Mantis, he was one of those guys who were thought out so creatively by Kojima. You can't get anymore badass than Mantis. (He even helped you right before he dies)

4. Lance Vance, shame he had to betray you. I always thought he was one of those chill guys that always had yo back, yo.

5. Crying Wolf, just loved all the things she could do. And I love wolfs.

I honestly couldn't think of any good ones aside from MGS.

Kefka was much cooler than emo-boy Sephiroth, and VI was a better Final Fantasy than VII.

Haha! Four pixels of pure evil!

And you can't forget the laugh. WOOPWOOPWOOPWOOPWOOPWOOP. That and his awesome theme put him in the list and I only prefer Sephiroth over him because i always felt Sephiroth had more power than him and i guess he had One Winged Angel on his side too.

You can always determine how good a villain by the sense of joy you get at killing the bastard at the end of the game. Here's 5 of my favourites in no particular order...

  • Liquid Snake
  • Seymour (I liked 10...)
  • Lance Vance (Oh the traitorous bastard...)
  • Saren Arterius
  • Illidan (You are not prepared, you big pussycat you.)

Yeah, nothing much is coming to mind atm lol. I'd have put Seifer the douchebag up there but he never becomes a glorious adversary, just an arrogant tool. Plus, I didn't want to open the whole debate of why FF8 fails...

5. M Bison : Street Fighter

"The day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday."

4. Sovereign : Mass Effect

Destruction without reason. A fairly cheesy villain, but then so was the game.

3. Gamall / Old Hag : Thief

A mythical serial killer, who preys on townsfolk during the night wearing her victims skin, and the force behind on of the scariest levels I've played - Shalebridge Cradle.

2. Revolver Ocelot / Liquid Ocelot : Metal Gear Solid

He looks like a fantastic villain, sounds like a fantastic villain. The fact that it was Naked Snake that told him to try out a revolver just adds to the dynamic between himself and Snake.

1. Majora: Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask.

A god like being / force, hell-bent on destroying the world by crashing the moon, which he created, slap bang in to the middle of it.

If you haven't played Modern Warfare 2, don't try this spoiler:

Shepherd in Modern Warfare 2. Holy sh*t, unexpected plot twist, blah blah blah, and an epic fist fight at the end. Underneath all that goody good talk he said, he was one evil bastard. Igniting ghost and roach with petrol? As I said, he was one evil bastard.

Unbelievable. And don't complain about what I said in that spoiler, if you don't want to spoil stuff, don't read it.

1. Wild Dog-Time Crisis Series

He kicks ass, has a cool trenchcoat and sunglasses, and is practically immortal. His catchphrase "Let Me Entertain You!" is just epic!

2. Revolver Ocelot-Metal Gear Solid

He's the only person who can dress like a cowboy and be taken seriously

3. Professor William Birkin-Resident Evil 2

This guy is just f*cking scary when he mutates

4. Dr. Nefarious Tropy-Crash Bandicoot Warped

Now you're on my time, you little skunk! GIVE ME THE CRYSTALS! One of the best lines from a video game

5. Dimitri Rascalov-Grand Theft Auto IV

A sleek traitor, forget Michael Jackson, Dimitri Rascalov IS a smooth criminal

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Jimmy Pegorino(GTA IV)

John Henry Eden(Fallout 3)

Dr. Neo Cortex(Crash Bandicoot Warped)

Nicholai Ginovaef(Resident Evil 3)

Oswald E. Spencer(Resident Evil Series)

DISHONORABLE MENTIONS

Sephiroth(Final Fantasy VII, Lame and Overrated)

Nina Cortex(Crash of the Titans, a crappy part of a crappy game)

Catalina(GTA III, Annoying Bitch)

Massimo Torini(GTA: LCS, I loved the game, it's my favorite of the III Era, but he was barely in it!)

Emperor Velo(Crash Nitro Kart, He was the Jump The Shark moment of the Crash Series)

Not a top 5 perse because I can't make up my mind.

Rascalov and Bulgarin

The Sunshine dude from SR2.. not a great character but he freaked me out

Kessler (inFamous)

Alden (inFamous)

The Mongoose (XIII)

And that's about all non-AA villains I can think of.

Now for the AA villains...

5. The Joker (Batman: Arkham Asylum)

The Joker is a great villain, all around. And the character, voiced perfectly by Mark Hamill, is raised to a new level of unpredictability and insanity in Arkham Asylum. He would be higher, but he's not completely a video game villain.

4. Ares (God of War)

He's in here for both the cool factor, and the wow factor that you get when you first see him ravaging Athens.

3. Gannon (The Legend of Zelda series)

He's the prototypical video game villain. Evil contrasted by Link's good.

2. Bowser/King Koopa (Super Mario Bros series)

He's the unstoppable force. No matter how many times Mario jumps on his head, or spins him around by the tail, he keeps coming back.

1. Zombies (various titles)

It seems like all the great games now a days has at least a few zombies running around. Half-Life has headcrab zombies, Halo has the flood, and then there is the regular brain eaters as seen in numerous games including Resident Evil, Dead Rising, and Left for Dead.
