Algonquin Bridge
Listen first of all dont call me moronic twat(God i hate that fuc.king word)cos you dont know me,and you dont have the right to call me that. Oh, so he can't call you an obscenity because he doesn't know you; yet you are perfectly fine to making sweeping accusations and assumptions of an entire island consisting of multiple nations, with around 61,399,118 inhabitants, whom you don't all know. Hypocrisy, thy name is ViceCityFTW. You aint f*cking interesting!!!! Your opinion, debatable. An island home to the English Language, a melting point of lots of cultures, the hub of the Swinging Sixties and many conflicts, it's as interesting as one can get. Your accent sucks Ah, the classic uninformed racist "argument". and everybody outside of that f*cking island of yours HATE it. Prove it. Prove it to me that everyone else on this planet, in their billion numbers, hate the United Kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Go on, you made the point, back it up with hard facts. and GB bcs its just that you as a nation are soo annoying, Elaborate. your weather sucks Oh yes, it's always grey skies over here. It's not like we have nice hot British Summers, or bitter cold Winters that freeze up the Thames. and that idea about football gangs hahahah what are you kiddin???People in US dont know sh*t about football gangs and fukin pubs so for you in GB we should have extra cool english football gangs??GTFOH Ah yes, because all viewers are idiots. There are scores of people in the US that know about Pubs and football gangs; explain how you know what a pub is. Take note; the above statement by ViceCityFTW is the exact wrong way to argue your point and opinion on any subject, not just London. Stereotypes, borderline racist remarks, lack of tact and an obvious grudge against the UK (whose language is the root of the derivative you speak...or type), do not a valid nor believable argument make. The London Dossier. Read it. Examine it. And realise exactly where you went wrong.

vincentmillidge
if rockstar dont do it in vc lc or sa. then they only have a few more options really because all gta is is a satirical look at how the rest of the world views western culture so they arent gonna do boston or chicago or new england because they arent a big part of modern culture like new york, miami, london or las vegas. they could do detroit or washington or sanfransisco but thats about it really. there only other viable option is london its big, metroploitan, full of crime, english speaking and most importantly of all it can be easily satiricalised by rockstar which is a british company. i think gta london would be great but if its based in modern times i doubt it will be called london im sure rockstar will give it a fictional name. General Goose
Well, what I meant was that America tends to be more unpopular on the world stage and has WAY more negative stereotypes then Britain, but that doesn't stop R*, and it shouldn't. And you did say everyone hates Britain. You said "everyone" outside of the island hates us, which includes you. If you cannot spot the obvious here, please, go. EDIT: Dumb French fa**ot? Goddamn, YOU are not the whole world. France stereotypically hates us.

Algonquin Bridge
ViceCityFTW, regardless of your apology and attempted back-up for your "reasons", I'm afraid that they're overshadowed by your immense amount of racial prejudice and sweeping statements on the country. In fact, you seem to be ambivalent, borderline schizophrenic. One second you claim that you love certain Brits, then you swing immediately back to the racial derogatory comments and claiming that you don't like (or hate) the UK. I advise that you have employ a little more tact and thought to your posts, rather than getting worked up and being overly-defensive, to the point of continuously insulting and berating other people. Relax; think past the stereotypes. And stop thinking that the entire world = you. Because it doesn't. Yes, people hate the UK, but likewise, there are just as many, even more people who like the UK, the many accents of the UK, and the other facets of the country. Algonquin Bridge
I do think that this thread needs to get back on track; let's just drop racist/non racist arguments aside, and discuss what aspects of London would make for a good GTA game. Let's just bury the hatchet and speak about what assets of GTA would work in London... The tube. A huge sprawling network of tunnels and secrets. And potential tube massacres if you wanted. Algonquin Bridge
Likewise, I apologise for continuing the debate. Let's just talk about London as a location in GTA, okay? London Buses. Come on, blocking off Picadilly Circus with some Double-Decker Routemasters, then launching a rocket into the tangled mess of traffic, before fending off the police, who're hanging onto the pole at the back. Win!

Spaghetti Cat
No "hate", just a few reasons I can think of not to put in London. First, never been to London before, but isn't the city streets smaller? On of my complaints about IV was the narrow streets. Putting it in London would make the streets smaller right? Not to mention smaller cars, ect. Second, driving on the wrong side of the road. I know this isn't a big deal to most ppl, but I think it's a big deal. Almost forgot, one-way streets! Isn't there a lot of one-ways in London? If so, that sucks also, I didn't like the one way streets in LC. Another one, lack of crime/weapons. I know this has been debated before, but you can't get around the fact that there are less crimes and certainally less firearms in London. Plz, no more stats, I know there is crime there. But its a lot of knife attacks and not firearms attacks. When was the last time a bank in England was held up? Every GTA game needs a good bank heist and I just don't see that happening in London/England. Finally, GTA is mostly an American game. In vision, humor, and scope. Even though there was a London expansion pack, I just don't see the series leaving the good 'ole USA. On a side note, I think that the new R* game AGENT will focus more on the London/England/Europe connections than a GTA game will. /my 2 No Image Available
ViceCityFTW
You see, maybe you write i also think Agent will be more about EU and GB...but im sure i wouldnt mind smaller streets or one way streets. And its not about criminal really. For exepmle look at San Fierro,in real life its not really a crime capital but they managed to pull it of.They make fictional cities so crime really shouldnt be a problem(London actually has enough crime). While i love America and the feeling i get when i listen to radio stations and go to Las Venturas or driving around VC i think that they could pull it of...i mean they are R*
General Goose
First, never been to London before, but isn't the city streets smaller? On of my complaints about IV was the narrow streets. Putting it in London would make the streets smaller right? Not to mention smaller cars, ect. No, not really. There are small side alleys and quiet residential streets, but most are fairly wide. Second, driving on the wrong side of the road. I know this isn't a big deal to most ppl, but I think it's a big deal. Well, you'll adjust quickly, believe you me, and we don't care about traffic rules anyway being GTA players. Almost forgot, one-way streets! Isn't there a lot of one-ways in London? If so, that sucks also, I didn't like the one way streets in LC. Once again, not a whole lot aside from roundabouts and the rare street here and there. Well, R* WILL play with the truth. Armed heists do happen in London. A mission like a jewellery store or train robbery would be particularly fitting. And "less crimes"? No, there are not less crimes I'm afraid. Anyway, criminals can relatively easily get access to average firearms. Finally, GTA is mostly an American game. In vision, humor, and scope. Even though there was a London expansion pack, I just don't see the series leaving the good 'ole USA. On a side note, I think that the new R* game AGENT will focus more on the London/England/Europe connections than a GTA game will. Britain has both enough of a unique culture of its own to stand out but enough similarities with the US so you won't feel lost. And GTA is British, after all. Tipper
There are so many things we could do in a GTA London, especially if it is set in the 60s/70s (and actually, any place in Europe would be great if set in this timeline), Austin Mini chases, bike chases in the Underground (like in the "No Way On The Subway" mission in IV), or even crazier, board a double decker driving at high speed and have a gunfight in here, with everybody being shaked when the bus takes a turn. Or maybe a mission inspired of "Payday for Ray" from GTAIII when we had to answer several phone calls from booth throughout the city. Or sniping a target who would be in the London Eye. And if set in the 60s/70s, cars would be great, I posted some pics of cars from that time in the thread about the 70s setting. yeah there are definitely plenty of cool missions and things to do in a GTA London
