Just wondering whether the next GTA installment could be based on Packie, possibly moving to another of the cities, Vice, San Andreas etc, or even in Ireland?! But a lot of people said on my GTA Ireland post that "Packie has never left Liberty City and never will, your story about him going to Ireland makes no sense". GTA 4 went back to Liberty City and everyone and thier grandma said it was f*cking London. The Ballad of Gay Tony's main character was bodyguard for a drug addicted gay club owner, who could also fly military helicopters, drive A.P.C's and do crazy ass sh*t and everyone and thier grandpa said, "Awh well the parachute won't be useable or awh well this and that won't happen" and it did. Now we have a main character from GTA Vanilla who always wanted to go to Ireland, has no reason to stay in Liberty City, lots of background, has 250000 dollars in a bag and JUST HAPPENS to be in the end credits of the ballad of gay tony like how Luis was in TLAD. Why the hell esle would he be in the airport. And the fact that R* has stated we aren't going back to Liberty City. It all makes to much sense now. I think the logical top 3 picks that rockstar could've done would be: GTA: London GTA: Vice City GTA: San Andreas but going way out of there way to make a game basically a huge amount of GTA fans would be like wtf to... would just be stupid on their part... And almost all GTA games, with the exception of the expansions for GTA 4, have pretty much totally new characters you don't know that well... am i right? Yeah you are right about the protagonist not having alot of background before but I think R* is changing that trend. We met both Johnny and Luis before and even worked with them. That is true. I have wondered that if he is the main character how would he deal with family that have died. But if you think about it Niko didn't really talk much about his family so maybe Packie would take up the same trend. I could also be wrong but I just see to many connections myself. I personally don't think the packie thing at the end credits holds much water either. I think they just wanted to have the final scene be a plane taking off from liberty to personify US leaving liberty city, and they just chose to have packie being the one in the plane, just because he was a somewhat important character in IV. I bet R* is laughing their asses off for us speculating like this. I think it will be USA again because it has been for so long. If they would choose another country I would guess Mexico, Brazil or Argentina (or other South American countries). There is a lot of crime so why not? Why put an ellipsis at the end of nearly everything you say? It's so weird. Anywho, it would make sense for him to be a protagonist (though I doubt it simply because R* like to make new characters for the main part of each "big" GTA game, not including the stories and DLC) because he only has his Ma and Derrick (maybe) to worry about caring for, he's not afraid of anything as it seems, he's certainly got character, he works for people and he says he's never been to Ireland so, like the player, he won't know his way around the map upon arriving. It adds up, but still unlikely to happen. Ah well, a GTA Ireland would be interesting. An awful lot of countryside and lack of dense cities, but interesting.
