THAT would be a good reason Heh, I realize why they did it the way they did, but for continuity (not that they really seem to care about visual continuity ) they really should not. The work on the Next map would not start until IV is in debugging and polishing stage, when most of the footage would already be done. So they could not possibly do VC and SA shots in IV engine regardless of whether or not these locations are going to be part of IV canon.
