systck
Hello all, I wanted to play gta4 bad. And am finally upgrading my old rig . I dont fancy playing in max settings ( since I am on a limited budget here). So went about researching for a graphics card and finally zeroed in on HD4650. But everyone suggested that i rather get a HD4670. Just as I was about to buy the HD4670 512MB GDDR3, I was "advised" that the 1GB Vram matters a lot in case of GTA4. So, now i am stranded. should I actually go for the 1GB one? Is it really worth it? As I have already told, I am on a tight budget here Please help me guys. Thanks
anus
What's your budget and which country do you live in? I could try and see if I can find a card better than the 4670 for your budget. The extra VRAM helps with IV, but I don't really think it'd do much good with a card like a 4670 as it's not really all that powerful enough to utilise all of the 1GB. systck
I am from India, and budget is mostly around 4-4.5K INR. So you suggest against the 1Gigs? Also, should i trust the youtube vids? Since some of them seem to suggest that the game runs quite ok with 512 as well.
anus
Well then a 1GB 4670 would do. I mean if you can afford it, by all means go for the extra VRAM.
systck
Ok, Hrm. That somewhat extends me towards 9600GT. But then that'd be the 512MB version. So i guess I'll go with the 4670 1Gig GDDR3. Thanks a lot. BTW: does screen size matter when considering varm? I have 1360x768. Or is it irrelevant?
