Vasilyrud
I have Windows XP SP3. Fresh install made about a week ago. Same disk as before, only before it worked fine for more than a year. I can' access Windows Explorer. It gives me this error message. (Sorry that it is in Russian.) Though I can open IE, and from there type the path, such as C:/... Also, I am able to open files in Office Word, Photoshop, etc. I googled this issue, but wasn't able to find anything. I tried scanning my system with all the different features of Advanced System Optimizer, including the "System Protector" (anti-virus). It found 4 threats, and removed them all, though the problem still didn't disappear. If you need more info about my system, I will post it. Sorry if this is the wrong section or forum. Also, links to helpful sources would be highly appreciated. Thank you. Edited November 3, 2009 by Vasilyrud

Vasilyrud
(I tried to translate as accurate as possible) __________________________________________ ||Explorer.EXE - Error of application|| Instruction of address "0x00000000" has addressed the memory of address "0x00000000". Memory cannot be "read". "OK" -- End application "Cancel" -- Debug application __________________________________________ Also, its basically that I can't access Explorer directly, by opening Folders. It gives me this message. I can only access through IE, which actually opens up Explorer for me. Any help? Any suggestions? Vasilyrud
Something crazy is going on in my system! I downloaded several alternatives to Windows Explorer, to be able to use files freely. Also I downloaded AVG free antivirus, started a scan. Several new viruses were detected, and a winlogon.exe virus (isn't it supposed to be a Windows file?). Suddenly the system "theme" turned to the classic look, and I could barely do anything on the computer. Several seconds passed, and a blue screen appeared, with some gibberish symbols on top. I restarted my computer, and the theme turned back to normal, etc. Also Windows Explorer started working. I have no idea what is going on.

Vasilyrud
I actually tried that. Same problem. That error appeared. But now, that I ran several scans with AVG in safe mode, and in normal mode, and it "fixed" the viruses, the problem seems to have settled. Still interesting what the problem was. Tornado Rex
You probably had some viruses. Sounds like the usual stuff they like to do ~ Proud Supporter of the Child's Play Charity! | GTANET + Child's Play ~
