oldage
If I would create a new account, I can't update, for example, the index with it (unless ofcourse I keep using this account for that). yeah you can't update it, but you can always use the ScratchCard account for it. Mainland Marauder
I think there should be an option to change the name ones a month... No. It causes massive confusion within posts, as only the username changes, not references to it. Places like NBALive Forums that allow it are terrible to read, especially for newer members, because someone quotes another, then that person changes names, and the quote refers to a non-existent username. Trying to catch up on old posts like that make you want to tear your hair out and scream. Everything here is as it should be. Pretty much. If you want a new name that bad, make a new account. We used to do name changes on request and tbh it was a mess. We had a name change topic in Network Support and people would get all demanding like the admins were their dogs, just because they weren't getting their name changed fast enough for them. Then, after everyone got their way, it was this confusing clusterf*ck like GoDK alludes to here. And no, I'm not changing my name. Even though technically I do have that option. Then without asking the admins - just go to edit profile, and have this option to change your name, and you have to keep it for like 6 months, so it wont be that big of a mess, and, people will think twice before they change their name. Let's say that you have to post at least 1000 times before you have this option, but at least you can change your name (as I said, only by yourself, without causing a mess) if you really want to. It mabye sound like something confusing, but that only if everyone will change it in one day, but if, over the time you will notice that someone changed his name, then it not so bad. I can really see it working.

yoječ
I wouldn't change my nick because I'm using it for a long time (since 2004) and just most people know me as yojo2. ghost of delete key
What "references"? *SIGH* You are seriously confused. Here's yet another picture to show what this would look like: ... and another picture to show the befuddled new user trying to figure out who the hell is Asoyfy37... If the name changed then everything comes with the user being changed to the name too, works well in other forums. No such forum. Not unless there's a hyper-caffeinated admin scouring each post and editing every place the string "Asoyfy37" appears. *** How do you find your way from the kitchen to the bathroom? Are there pictures of turds on the walls with red arrows pointing the way? I would just fix my name. Its coin-god I kinda like it... sounds like a Nintendo fan who just got religion. Changing name to obfuscate a "disrespect list" + actively claiming that you're something you are clearly not = hiding from the truth. You're not a big fan of truth or reality, are you. Tell us... I honestly prefer selective name changes to the current system, which always confused the hell out of me. It turns every new account into a blank slate and I have a tough time keep up with who is who. When I have a join date to go by it helps me remember, but that's just me I guess.
