mmm chocolate Posted November 2, 2009 Share Posted November 2, 2009 how did the diamonds end up in the trash again? ...as far as I can remember, they got thrown into the top of a garbage truck that drove away...by who I can't remember.... any help is much appreciated...I will explain when someone confirms what actually happened. Also, I don't like the way R* makes it look like Luis dropped the diamonds and the bum picks them up. Classic "Bump into random stranger, you drop something, they pick it up" moment. lockesbrokenleg Posted November 2, 2009 Share Posted November 2, 2009 -Firstly, Johnny put them in some trash bags at the request of Ray. -Then Niko dresses as a garbage man and drove a Garbage Truck along with some other guys to pick up the diamonds. -The guys Niko did that job with then rip off Ray and keep them for themselves but Niko manages to get them back. -Niko and Johnny then go to the museum to trade the diamonds for money with those Jewish guys. -Luis then ambushes them, Johnny makes off with the money and Luis gets the diamonds. -Niko and Packie kidnapp Gracie and offer to give her back in exchange for the diamonds but the deal is distrupted and a big shootout breaks out. -Niko and Packie finally corner the guy who's holding the diamonds but he throws them off the bridge and they land on the back of a truck. -Later on in the game you hear on the radio that some hobo found them and is now rich. They simply put that there as a funny easter egg, we knew a bum found them in trash, and then they showed it to us. We're not supposed to think about it that much. It was an open top dump truck. So it's plausible. But yeah when I first saw it, I thought it fell out of Luis's pocket when he bumped into the bum, either that or the bum pick pocketed Luis. But at the very end you see him digging through the trash, so he just happened to discover it. You know he's living somewhere up in Alderney now... Then why would he take them to Meadows Park? Wouldn't he just go straight to cashing them in? It doesn't make all that much sense anyway, because they were illegal diamonds - the police would just confiscate them as evidence (especially if he admits he just happened to find them). It was decided that they would never resolve the "rightful" owners, so the tramp, Jerry Kapowitz, was given the right to keep them. He did plan to move to VC and open a gun & liquor store. At the end of TBOGT he is seen celebrating in Alderney. This is likely just after he has been granted ownership. If another game is set in VC I would like to see a store called "Kapowitz Guns & Liquor" with no other mention made of it. How the diamonds got from the truck to the to park; I don't know. Maybe they bounced off the truck near the park along with some rubbish and some a good-natured local picked it all up and put it all in the bin not noticing what they had found. This seems like the most likely explanation. Got caught in trash. Blew off into park. Someone puts it in the bin. Hobo finds them.
