zippo55312
Through process of elimination, I have determined that the next gta will be in san andreas. Vice City- I don't think they would set it in vice city, because vice city (Miami) was only interesting in the 80s, because of the whole cocaine kingpin vibe, and they have already covered that perfectly. Modern Miami is just another big city, it is not significant enough for them to make a game about. Plus TBoGT did have a very miami vibe, and I don't think that they would give TBoGT that vibe if they were planning on releasing a vice city game next. Also there is no way that there will be two more GTAs for current gen, so the argument that the locations will follow the same pattern as the previous gen does not hold water. And Vice City FM is not a hint, it was only added because it fit the vibe of Gay Tony. Any country outside of America- I really don't think so. If they set it outside of America, sales in the US could drop and I dont think that they would risk that. I know that they set it in london before but that was just an expansion pack. Chicago A gta set in Chicago would be boring. The crime in Chicago is just pretty generic. there are no drug lords or organized crime. Chicago is basically a more boring New York. Anywhere else There are no other cities in america that would make for a good game.

socal000
What the hell was so special about San Andreas, it was just another version of Grand Theft Auto, can somebody please explain to me why you want it back so badly? I'm not whining, I seriously, honestly want to know.
zippo55312
Im not saying that I want it to be in San Andreas, I am just saying that it is likely that it will be in San Andreas.
Luis F. Lopez
I don't think they'd do San Andreas, Liberty City and then San Andreas again. Would they?
Vince B
I don't think they'd do San Andreas, Liberty City and then San Andreas again. Would they? If they feel like the San Andreas they created didn't really capture the 'feeling of Las Angeles, San Fransisco and Los Vegas', then yes I'd imagine that they'd try to create a better San Andreas. (Kinda like how they felt about the Liberty City in the III era)

socal000
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say it in the aggressive, troll-like way that it did sound, and it wasn't directed towards a specific person, I would just like to no why exactly people want another san andreas, what was so special about it? Well 1st, the map was huge. Three huge cities and a rural country area, with small towns and mountains, and a desert area. Also it had a sh*tload of features. It had planes and jetpacks and a huge variety of weapons. The missions were also really really fun. They were varied, and they were extremely over the top. ArcaneKnight
Las Vegas on the RAGE engine? That would be a dream come true. SA didn't capture Las Vegas right. Plus there were definetly more SA references than there were VC.. Talking about Vinewood, and Tony going to the big city in the desert.. I think the thread starter is right, and I would not mind it at all if they remade SA..

mkey82
I'm 99.0% sure it will not be a San Andreas revamp. They might be redoing one of the SA cities, be it LS or SF. Maybe LV, but I always considered that one to be the less inspired in the bunch. Don't now why, but it seems to me R* is just not ready to try with something new, so if I were betting, LS would by my chioce. But for the part about Miami I absolutely agree, they just can't/shouldn't remake that one.
GamerShotgun
IMO we will get something new. But if they'd redo anything at all, that wouldn't be San Andreas. The size of the country is just too big if you ask me and it would either mean less music, or less features. So my bet is that we will get a slightly bigger city which will be completely new. MyDog
I'm writing down a new GTA that takes place in San Andreas, but not whole San Andreas, it's just San Fierro. Imo, San Fierro (and only San Fierro) is excellent city for a new GTA.
jamzzz969
I would be happy if the new GTA was set in San Andreas, because the USA has the best vibe for a GTA game IMO.
Samcro
San Andreas was great but had some issues. The map was almost bigger than the disk could handle. We have Next Gen technology, but even so, one cannot rule out the possibility of objects 'popping up' out of nowhere. Imagine that - GTAIV isn't nearly as big and you sometimes see it in that game. We can have a map bigger than GTAIV but we have to take technical issues into account. Quality > Quantity Remember, a variety of territory can work easily elsewhere. Akavari
i want them to take any of the 3 cities in san andreas and just do that city exclusively. los santos, san fierro. and las venturas have great potential in them but they should focus on one to really capture the city. Wenis IV
Thanks for blessing us with your great personal insight. But you seem to have overlooked the fact that a next gen SA would need to be at least double the size of IV. Map size really isn't an issue. There are many other games out right now that have vastly larger map sizes than San Andreas did. The thing that really eats up space would be the cities in general.. I don't think the city(ies) in the next GTA will be as big as Liberty City.

jnzooger
Anywhere elseThere are no other cities in america that would make for a good game. How about the south, Louisiana, Arkansas, etc... during the 50s. Elvis, the Cuban Revolution, Pop Art, Cold War, NORAD, the Iron Curtain, Sputnik, Beginnings of the Civil rights movement...etc... I could see this being an amazing GTA set in a different area of America. On the other hand, Las Venturas could do with its own full fledged update. I'd love to see Henderson and Las Vegas Lake realized on RAGE.
NikoB IV
If Rockstar will only make GTA's in 5 cities it would get a bit boring I guess. Why not come up with a new city so we can have a whole new experience? Personally I'm done with Vice City, San Andreas and Liberty City. Now it's time for something new. I'm pretty sure that Rockstar will surprise us. I'll be disappointed when it will be in any of the old cities. We will see what they've come up with. I will play it anyway
