Hmm, your nice are you not...? I tried doing this mission 4 times and ended up in either 2nd, 3rd or 4th place! I cannot do this...

@ king: Back at you.

Just keep trying. Ask a mod to move the topic for you, and if your lucky, someone might do it for you. Not the most difficult mission out there.

Keep trying my friend. It can take time to get used to the street racing, but in the end you will be able to do it with your eyes shut. Good Luck. smile.gif

seriously dude, dont start sh*t but instead, just drive around randomly. That what I did. I couldnt complete this mission so I just didnt first time I played GTA 4. Then after a while I tried again and did it very easy + won about 3/3 races. Still more to come

I’ll assume this is the No.1 racing mission from Brucie, not the first mission of the game. biggrin.gif

- Try and get the jump at the start, it works, sometimes.

- Just drive as fast as you can without crashing, follow the markers and forget the other drivers.

- If you try and crash them out you’ll just put yourself farther behind.

- After you have a marker lined up to pass through, glance at the radar for the next one, and any other time you get a chance.

- Stay calm, driving too fast and crashing or spinning out too much is your only real enemy.

- On a tough turn or sequence, try practicing outside of the race, to get familiar with the area.

- Use the brake to control your cornering.

- If Brucie says anything, tell'm, "stfu bitch!"

thats about it....

Wow, I have always thought it hilarious at how easy AI drivers are to beat in GTA games, including this one. Once you get in front of them, it's over! Here's a tip: Don't park in the spot, get in front of them, and back into them, it'll trigger the race, and you'll start in the front.

Moved to Mission Help.

That said, if you don't have help to offer, don't post in here.

Some tips for completing No. 1:

If you find the traffic a problem, trigger the mission at night. There will be less on the roads!

In general, don't go too fast and avoid crashing. Provided you stay with the pack, it is easy to power past them on the final straight, to victory.

Ahh, so basically now, the Bruice missions what are left are just races?? That's good enough for me then. smile.gif

Another tip on the PC version if you are having trouble; before you start the race, reduce the traffic volume down to 1. This way when you are racing around you don't have masses of vehicles on the road for you to drive into. You can turn them back on after the race.

Also be aware, the AI cars always drive at full speed up to the bends and either overshoot them or make a mess of the turn. Just make sure that you corner well and you'll get ahead and stay ahead no problem.

This mission has been a challenge for me as well, so let me just confirm - it won't stop me from completing the storyline?

I give it a shot every so often, but I'm more concerned about finishing the other missions and seeing how the story turns out.

Thanks!
