Hove_Beach
This GTA DLC was good but didnt live up to the HYPE. GTA based on what R* have learnt is gonna be based on this release - and the othe new releases they got - REd DEad - AgENt - MAx PAyne 3 = they will mess around with Rage and Euphoria - then i personally think - on the next one they will do somethin new and innovative or go more intense on the Role playing aspect - The next step in my eyes with online capabilities is take the L&D stagey of gangs which GTA does well and make it online missiions - multiple players. Clans etc. These 2 DLC were merely money spinners and ways to gage how to take the series foward with a large player base - nothing new was added apart from new weapon skins - cut scenes -mp3's "radio station updates" filters and a few interiors with new mini games - "They tweaked the physics" yes they did - give R* a clap = but thats about it - most of what they gave us in both dlcs except engine improvements were merely skins, and we can do that on PC for 3. PS - I love both DLC's - burn me all u want lol - But as innovaters R* are becoming more like Sega than Nintendo. Who misses the garage in Vice City where you had tons of cars ? Who misses Cops in Unmarked Cars "cheetah", cops on bikes, spike strips ? Who misses the feeling of the blood sweat and tears of having to "make that money" to be an "assett" ? ETc etc Edited November 3, 2009 by Hove_Beach
Leo Colt
Is that really such a bad thing? They had never attempted anything like this before, and had no idea how it would work out. I for one don't blame them for going with the safe option of producing more of the same, but to an impeccably high standard just to test the waters and get a feel of how to do it. Now that they've nailed the formula, they can work on innovating it.

You say They havent done anything like this before and more of the same in the same answer ?> Its either one or the other. There are improved elements but the issues are still there - my pet hates with all gTAs - yes you up the sky limit for a parachate but...... "fan bois jump in tandom"....... Dont see a nice car for long time - then jack a infernus - and then they are everywhere - thats a coding issue they still havent fixed from the old GTA 3 ? come on Just like in The Warriors. The police arrest system kicked major ass. They took aiming system from Manhunt - so yes they could and should have upped that and the melee system too - a straight port would a been cool takin cops down like in the Warriors . Derelict Frog
The new police system has been improved for these packs - at least the police now chase you off the beaten track. I remember in GTA IV police cars wouldn't chase you if you were not on a marked road. These are effectively large expansion packs - so there would obviously be an increase in difficulty. Your point about subprime voice acting is complete bull. The voice acting in BOGT has been EXCEPTIONAL. Gay Tony isn't the stereotype he used to be. He is just a troubled businessman/impresario with the slightest hint of campness. The best voice-acting in any game ever *MY OPINION* though has to be the wonderfully naive Yusuf Amir - voiced by the excellent Omid Djalili. Punk-in-Drublic
The APC doesent really pack much of a punch, Its nowhere near as effective as I would have liked. On the upside, it is quite speedy for such a large vehicle.

BUt as any GTA gamer knows - if the city is good you wanna have diff cars and weapons to play with over time - thast why there is so mich mods out there for pc version. Im sure R* just picked up on this fact and realised there may be a consumer market for mods in their titles. I kinda hoped they would surprise people with something fresh and inovative. Mafioso86
i see what you're saying on most of your points, though they aren't really big deals in my mind. The one thing I do disagree with is the voice acting... I think Tony, Yusuf, and Luis are some of the best done characters in all of GTA, something sorely missing from TLAD (where Billy wasn't bad, but he had to small of a part). The heavy MG's aren't even that accurate and even IF they hit you, it takes away a small amount of damage. Now the car full of FIB agents armed with P90's and AA-12's are a whole different ballpark, but the best way to take them out is to shoot the back wheelbase of their Chargers as their coming which will set em on fire in seconds. Everyone is going to have their own opinion, and this is a forum, which is a place for everyone to express those opinions. I think the new additions to the police force are good, but it does create more challenge to something that people have been used to for what, a year and a half now? So either people are going to accept the challenge or feel off-put by the new additions.
Big_Mitch_Baker
Giving the cops better AI was a good thing, but giving them stronger weapons was not...I like the thrill of the getaway, and it's better when the cops are smart enough to actually follow you. However there's nothing fun about getting turned into a strainer by FIB gunfire the second your on foot. I guess what the people want is a better chase, but less dieing Am I the only one who had a problem with the Ending? Like WTF, How did the diamonds end up in the park in Dukes?! They fell into a garbage truck, that garbage would have been taken to the DUMP not re-distributed throughout a park...I'm pretty sure the radio in IV even says the vagrant found the diamonds in the dump, then moved to Vice City to open a gun store...Yet there he is getting drunk on champagne by a pool at his house in LC? Seem to me they just wrote that in to tie things together without actually really THINKING about it first Edited November 4, 2009 by Big_Mitch_Baker
Slamman
They were retarded when they were commenting on getting to a Doughnut convention while stuck in traffic, these are keystone cops, in a way. GTA has humor, but the fact is, on PSP, the police system flaws shine like a beacon, they are the same problems here, on a larger scale, not so amplified. I tried to get t a stopping place and save my game, but in a bit of haste, I hit some cops and then a chase ensued. Took some time and escalated before I could get to the safe house and log-off. That almost seems like it's going to happen when you're ready to stop gameplay. And for the record, I never got busted, I did get killed all those times, but there are occasions when they pull me from a vehicle as I try and drive away, that's more apt to happen when you get stuck or cornered
SaintJimmy
I have also noticed that Luis body shape is somewhat different to that of Niko's - I've played GTA4 extensively, and I am pretty sure this is also the case. Damn irks!

I concur, Rockstar did fabulous work with The Warriors, and you can hide while they still search and survey last known locales, like the mission of Green Goo in SA, the spotlight shine over the compound only spot you if they betray your position in stealth mode. I just think it goes beyond realistic as it stands, defying reality, while not being the Sims. I don't know how you think the voice acting is better here? To me, it's nothing to write home about
ArcaneKnight
I hear you slamman.. The cops are annoying as hell in TBOGT.. You try to get away, and just when you're about to lose them, another comes up on you and you're spotted. I usually just drive into pay n sprays to get rid of em. But yeah, they will blow up a car you're trying to save quick too.. I haven't used cheats yet, but I'm getting real close to using them now. Also is there anyway to get explosive sniper rounds in single player without cheats?
