Of course I did. In that video the person did not provide any evidence. The only claim that was made was about something appearing to be clouds, but that's a very general statement and I know nothing about that person's qualifications to make such a statement. Is the person an expert on how to differentiate water vapor (what is usually referred to as "clouds") from gases of other kinds?

I see, never actually knew that. I was always under the impression that it had it's own unique rotational axis. Though with that it's pretty easy to figure that the moon doesn't actually have any permanently dark portion, maybe one of the poles is permanently entrenched in darkness, but not the main body of the moon.

At first it was kind of funny because you're not aware of how much of an idiot you are, but now it's just really really annoying.

 

Didn't they completely disprove rods, anyway? On the History Channel they put 2 cameras next to each other, one was a high speed camera and the other was just a normal domestic camera. The domestic camera caught footage of what looked to be a rod, they played the same footage on the high speed camera and it was revealed to be a moth fluttering past the camera.

 

The majority of people that believe these crazy conspiracy theories don't actually look into the subject at all, the only stuff they read on the subject is written from a biased point of view. The thing is, they don't want to read unbiased information because they know it will more than likely completely disprove whatever it is they believe in. People want these theories to be true so they make them true in their minds by ignoring all of the evidence that is against their belief.

My view on the whole aliens thing - Billions upon billions of stars exist out there with millions upon millions of planets, with those odds, it is a certainty that life exists beyond this planet. Maybe in the form of slime or something, there might be some advanced space faring civilization in this universe, but finding us is like finding a needle in an ocean, if another civilization more advanced than us found us. We would be completely ignored since we are a primitive species that use tools, almost like how you see a crow use tools. Maybe we would be destroyed completely like the story of the conquistador. Or the more likely scenario, we will not be found at all.

 

besides, we would all probably destroy ourselves in nuclear war before any of this sh*t happens.

Just to give my two cents on this discussion and to build on what Otter was saying: the moon does rotate, but a lunar day is a month earth's time - exactly the same time it takes for the moon to rotate around the earth, thus we always see the same side. And yeah, that means the far side of the moon isn't always the "dark" side of the moon; solar eclipse is a good example.

 

That's what five years of space camp will do for ya.

Perhaps, if there is anything worth hiding on the Dark Side of the Moon it isn't being hidden by our kind.

 

The real question is something like this:

The first of these seems like a much simpler answer than the second. While the universe is full of possibilities and intelligence from elsewhere is more likely than not likely it still doesn't mean that something on the moon is going to change the way things run down here on earth.

 

Firing missles at the moon, if non-nuclear, seems like a possiblily worthwhile experiment if data is shared with everyone on earth equally without playing favorites yet the whole answer as to whether the satellite should be disturbed at all by the inhabitants that can is a moot argument unless a substantal answer to another question can be verified adn drewn consensus on.

The satellite of the Moon is not really own able by any country or even the sound territory of any group of nations over any other when it has such importance to an entire planet.

I do believe that a detailled map of every part of the moon should be availblibe for any database and the history of it as well. Of course, you still have to consider that not everyone will believe data just as you must also assume that not all people are honest for the sake of the obvious and recognizing this fallibility witin humanity.

 

There is also the question of whether the data could be gained in another way.
