markjaysongalang
What's your internet speed? 7 MBPS now they upgraded their system to 24 MBPS. This is the slowest speed: 60KB/s This is the fastest speed: 100KB/s
Ryan
Well if your supposed to be getting 7Mb/s or even 24Mb/s and your only getting 60 to 100Kb/s, your seriously getting ripped off. 60 to 100Kb/s is only slightly better then dial up. With a speed like that, you can't expect a 160Mb file to download in a few minutes. It's going to take several hours.

Ryan
The file size is rather irrelevant. The reason it's taking so long is because of your internet. If your supposed to be getting 7Mb/s or 24Mb/s and your only getting 60 to 100Kb/s, it's obviously going to take a long time to download.
Wolf68k
It's not on your end, the last time I tried to download it it was slow as hell too.
Ryan
Even if the download is slow, his speed has something to do with it. You certainly can't expect a fast download rate with a speed of 60-100Kb/s. That's only slightly better then dial up. I just tried myself and got about the same speeds.

markjaysongalang
Nice game Rockstar. It's really on their website that's the problem.

You certainly can't expect a fast download rate with a speed of 60-100Kb/s. That's only slightly better then dial up. No if the download is slow and it's caused by the server side then the download is slow how good or bad his ISP is. Look at it like this.... If you download a file from me at 40k/s and that's because my max upload is 40k/s then no matter what you do you're not going to get it any any faster than 40k/s. It won't matter if your max download speed is 400k/s and you use a download manager to create multiple connections you're still only going to get the file at 40k/s. Then you also have to factor in where he is and where the server is. The further away you are from the server the bigger your ping and slower your speeds are likely to be. When an ISP rates your connections speeds that's only from them (and other very local servers) to you. Not from someone on the other side of the world to you even though you're going through 20-30 hops to get there. I will say this, which doesn't help my original statement any. I just download it again myself and I got it at around 1.2-1.4Mbytes/sec which is normal for me. And as Waste pointed out, just not in so many words, dial up is 6-10 times slower than what his is reporting.

You certainly can't expect a fast download rate with a speed of 60-100Kb/s. That's only slightly better then dial up. Pretty sure modem speed is 56kbits, not kbytes. So it's really still like 10 times as fast. And I wouldn't say it's on his end. I get a good 250-300kbyte/s download speed one good servers, but when the servers are slow it can be well under 100, some times 25kbps. The problem is where you're downloading it from, not your internet speed if only GTA2 is downloading slow and everything else is up to the speed it should be at. markjaysongalang
@pico: Yup, GTA2 is the only one that's downloading slow.
