Voodoo
By now, I'm sure you're all familiar with the swing set glitch in Broker. TBOGT adds a fun new twist with the addition of parachutes. In free mode, just make sure your chute is equipped and bail out when your car hits maximum altitude. Stallions and Dukes seem to be the easiest to get a good launch with, but the Presidente is pretty good too, if you want four doors. This kept us pretty well entertained for a couple of hours. Tsar_Smirnoff
Heh, I need to try that soon.....this glitch has been the only thing that has kept me busy until TBOGT came out. I find the one in Port Tudor, Alderney to be the most effective though. I took an APC into one the other day and it flung it straight across town and bowled into anything that happened to be in its' way. Yesterday, I got launched right as someone was pulling me out of my car and we both flung out and fell to our death.
Voodoo
That's awesome, I'll have to try it there. I couldn't get the APC to launch in Broker. It just mangled the swing set and flipped on it's side.
FullMetal
Whoa, is there one in Port Tudor (Alderney)? sh*t I have to check that one out! I really love the swing of death... and for some reason I haven't done it in TBOGT yet. Something I should check out as soon as possible with the parachutes . Tsar_Smirnoff
Here's the Snapmap guys: http://snapmap.wikigta.org/index.php?map=I...le=&set=187,374 Here's a tip, hit the swing at the apex where it's shaped like the letter 'A'(The side of the swing). You have to knock down the fence to get to it, but from my experience it's powerful as hell. I just back into it and stop; I don't continue to reverse into it. FullMetal
Thanks man, I'm going to check it out. First PC version later on (if I got the time/feel better) in TBOGT :].
Voodoo
I'm not getting as much height on the Alderney swing. I'd be interested to hear what kind of altitude you guys are getting, there. A good launch from the Broker swing clears the top of the apartment building directly to the west and lands the car within a couple of blocks of the docks on the west side of the island. Bailing out over the park seems to give the best result so far. Edited November 1, 2009 by Voodoo.

Or I get smashed against the appartment building (though your car gets totalled amazingly fast which is one of the only plus' I have gotten). Also if I try the other side ('parking') I don't get much altitude either. Maybe any tips? I'm surely going to try the Broker Swing of Death in TBOGT... must be epic with parachutes . It's sort of a mixed bag....sometimes it will launch me with extreme velocity at low altitude and other times it will toss me over the Plumbers Skyway....just have to hit it at the right place at the right time I guess. The swings are like a game of slots, it's all about luck mostly. Also, make sure you hit it on the side and not the front like you do in Broker because it rarely works that way...and when it does it throws you either into the wall across the street or into the West River. Watch this guy's video to see what I mean and which side to hit: Alderney Swing Glitch
Voodoo
Thanks. I've been using that side and mostly getting launched horizontally. I'll keep at it and see if I can get a better result. I can tell you guys that the most consistent way I've found to get both height and distance in Broker is with a Stallion. The Dukes comes in a close second. They both have power and flat front ends. The trick is getting the front of the car to ride up the center support of the left side swing and hang there about 3/4 of the way up for about 3 seconds. If you can do this, you'll get a really good launch like I mentioned above about 70% of the time.
Daz
This owns. A Bullet GT works really good too. I had a one off good one in my favorite car the Ruiner, and I managed to get over the park and parachute and land on the top of the Broker Bridge. DO IT NOW. VickeX
Ever since i found the Alderney Swingset (Port Tudor) sometime around christmas last year and showed it to my friends, we've called it the Swingset Of Reckoning And we've been trying to get launched over the water into Algonquin but we've never made it. Gotten really close though.
FullMetal
Whoa... from Alderny to the Broker bridge? Damn, these swingsets are f*cking epic!
Voodoo
It was from the Broker swing and he bailed and pulled his chute, so he glided there. The best we've ever done while staying in the car was the docks in East End by the Platypus.
FullMetal
My god, it's still a damn ridiculous. Big ups to you both!

Renold
I can't wait to try this out with the parachute! Do you just drive into the swing or is there some sort of "special thing" to do?!
FullMetal
Done it yesterday... sh*tloads of fun. One thing that was annoying (yet hilarious at the same time). Almost every time I bail out of the car I get launched in a completely different (and illogical) direction. Still, you can do some mad tricks with it. Also; there are never Stallions/Dukes around when you need 'em .
Voodoo
Also; there are never Stallions/Dukes around when you need 'em . Yeah, it's a bit of a grind waiting for the good cars. We just launch whatever is available while waiting. Vehicle spawn rotation seems to stick pretty close to what it is in the vanilla version. Futos, Stallions and Ruiners all spawn together so if you see a Futo you know there are some muscle cars coming. Daz had really good luck with a Ruiner the other day, so definitely try those too. Also, set traffic to high, of course. The best launches we've had by far are with cars with flat front ends and enough power to push the car up the pole about 3/4 of the way. Cars with rounded fronts tend to slip off the pole before you can get a launch and the smaller sedans don't have the power. I think the weight of the car might have something to do with it, as well. By this logic, the new Bullet should be pretty good. Flat front and plenty of power.
Tsar_Smirnoff
You guys probably already know this, but the Blista Compact(they're usually pretty abundant)works wonders for the Broker swing.....they're very lightweight and the back end is high off the ground. I always reverse into the swing rather than go forward, but on multiplayer it doesn't matter. I tried the parachute over in Alderney.....it flung me over the Plumbers Skyway so I bailed and pulled the parachute....he went in the exact opposite direction of the way he was falling. Amusingly, he was traveling faster than I thought and he performed a face plant right into a brick wall. He takes a few seconds to realize that he has a parachute on when you bail out, and then by that time it's too late. Make sure you get high enough! Voodoo
Haha, that sounds crazy. I bet that Blista is so good in reverse because it's front wheel drive. I'll have to grab some of those and see where I end up. With the recently discovered parachute glitch, there's really no limit to how far you can go. FullMetal
Well, we should organise swingset events... GTAForums 'Swing of Death events' :]. Now that I think of it, I never really check the MP section of IV. Should check this out... maybe some people already did such a thing.
