Or if you look at it from the point of view of somebody who isn't a complete twat, it's the details like those mentioned that make the game world more immersive, which compliments, and possibly even improves, the gameplay (perceptionally). Gameplay is most definitly more important...but I disagree that graphics & detail dont mean anything. Look at all of the greatest games of all time..Super Mario World..Halo..Sonic...Any iconic game U can name...the graphics always have something to do with it...GTA 4 has a unique & nice lookin art style..and that does add to the value of the game.
