Nillus
Yes, these shadows are normal and alot of people are complaining about it. You can turn on blur (press P or disable 'Definition' in the Graphics tab of the Pause Menu), it will blur the shadows and the environment. It will basically apply a kind of 'vaseline filter' to your screen, making everything look smoother but less crisp: this is what they do on the consoles. I have a decent system and experience alot of flickering aswell, staircases/fences/lantern poles/building edges etc in the distance seem to 'transform' with every movement of the camera. Posters and graffiti on walls seem to be Z-fighting all the time, some times the graffiti disappears (partially) behind the wall and vice versa... I still hope that Rockstar will try to fix it, but until then you have to live with it. About your FPS, your quadcore CPU is still running at it's stock speed. You can purchase an aftermarket CPU fan and overclock your CPU to a higher clock speed so it will process everything faster. This will give a performance boost to your PC for everything, so also GTA IV. I overclocked my dualcore CPU from 3GHz to 3.6Ghz and went from 40FPS to 52FPS in the benchmark and I could also increase the settings. The fan cost me 19 euros. (Arctic Freezer 7 Pro) Then we have multiplayer. I was confused by this too, when I went to 'Multiplayer' on the cellphone, then I selected some game type and it started a new game. I always select 'Custom Match' now and it will allow you to search on existing games. Edited November 1, 2009 by Nillus

Nillus
Thank you for all your awnsers just wanted to make sure if it's normal my drivers are 191. and something. i press P for definition but it makes me dizzy lol gonna try MP again oh btw how do i know wich version my gta 4 is? so i can patch it up. Thx Well if you start up GTA IV and login to Games For Windows LIVE, and you haven't got 1.0.4 yet (latest patch), it will bug you about it: you can't play IV online when you haven't got latest version. So, if you can play online, then you have the latest version. To see your current version (in my case): browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV. Then, rightclick GTAIV.exe and in the Properties tab you will see Product Version.
