Aerosmith one day, Prodigy the next, James brown another etc. It pisses me off when people say YO DANCE MUSIC AINT MUSIC CAUSE ITS DONE WITH A MACHINE, ROCK IS TEH BEST, erm no, just no. As far as im concerned there is some great dance music and some proper bollocks dance music, just like rock, pop and any other genre of music. I grew out of that by the time I was 16, 17 years old. I still enjoy death metal but I can get into lots of other music although I must say that I am not into Country or Hip Hop music. It's just the mainstream sh*t that's constantly being churned out that ruins the overall quality. Both of those videos cancel each other out because they both have sh*t music playing while they try to prove their points, when their points are retarded to boot. Not a good combination when trying to turn people against a genre. But I can't say anything much about techno because I don't really listen to it that much. Maybe, but ROCK is the most dominent, maybe not among GTAF members, but I recall Vice City's own licensed rockstation getting the most votes when polled, over an extended amount of time, and that's V*Rock, BTW. Maybe partly Lazlow's claim to fame there as well. Chatterbox somehow amused enough people, I just found it wandered all over the place (in GTA3) Kinda like my comments I post about, strange how that works! haha Rock and Metal are lasting forms of music that carry the same weight the world over, but there's strong bastions in the Country world, as well, World Music and Dance, and Hip-Hop/Rap is no doubt gaining it's footing. I'm certain that that Britney Spears has sold more albums that that Disturbed band you insist on banging on about. So, by your logic she's the better artist, purely because she's more popular? Honestly, Twilight just broke the record for highest opening day gross. That hardly makes it the greatest film of all time. Now, if you were to get a hold of these 'exact figures', lets say the Billboard Hot 100 as its the closest thing to a quantitative measure we can find; that's certainly not dominated by 'rock n roll'. As PCJ said, that little "Disturbed" band you keep raving on and on about most definitely hasn't outsold any of today's popular, non-rock artists, like Lil Wayne for example. Does that make Lil Wayne better? No. Your logic is severely flawed. And even if more people did like rock over any other genre, that doesn't make it the best. I am speaking historically about modern music, the last 40 years in particular, not just what any current trend tells you, most members active here are ten to twenty years old. I'd say the influence and impact extends beyond that time frame. It has very little to do with quality of music, in terms of what I'm saying....quality is a non-issue, I'm talking most loved style of genre.
