Otter
Have you run a windows update lately? I'd take that step first.
Mince
Have you run a windows update lately? I'd take that step first. Well... now that I think about it, I think I need to install service pack 3. The reason I haven't yet was because it told me I needed to back up my files (and I just did a system restore about a month ago, so I don't want to do it again)... do you need to back up your files to install service packs? Maybe that is it .
Otter
I think they recommend it in the off chance something goes terribly wrong - but nothing's going to go wrong. See if it works, anyhow, and we'll help you figure it out if it don't.
Mince
Unfortunately I keep getting the same message. I uninstalled and re-installed the program. I installed Service Pack 3, and I am now completely up to date.
Star-Lord
What framework are you running 2.0? If so try updating it to the latest. This should do it.
Mince
Apparently I am already up to date on that. It still doesn't work. Are there any more updates or packs I might need to install? Should I try re-installing the program again. EDIT: Hello?... Anyone?... I need help... I still can't use the program... Mince
I'm sorry to double post when my topic isn't that far down the page, but this problem is really creating obstacles for me, and I can't find out why it won't work right...
Star-Lord
After looking up your error code this is what came up on MSDN. App-Domain could not be created. Error: 0x80131902 Failed to execute request because the App-Domain could not be created. Error: 0x80131902 Event-ID: 1088 Source: ASP.NET 2.0.50727.0 Solution is to un-install the .Net framework. (1) Open a Command Prompt (2) run "net stop w3svc" (3) cd %windir%\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v2.0.50727\ (4) run "aspnet_regiis.exe -ua" (5) run "aspnet_regiis.exe -i " (6) run "net start w3svc" To access the command prompt click on your, Start Button Click on Run and type "cmd" (without quotes.) Once there type everything exactly as above. Reboot and install the latest Framework, theirs no need to have multiply versions install. The latest version will work with previous applications as well. If you feel more comfortable installing the version that came with your application then you can also do that if you like. Mince
Well, I followed all the prompts you said. I noticed that it says the specified service doesn't exist as an installed service for the stop and run w3svc prompts. Does that mean it didn't work? I tried the .net framework installer again it only gave me the option to uninstall and repair. Thinking it didn't work, I tried to uninstall and reinstall it that way, and it still didn't work . Did I do the command prompts wrong?
Star-Lord
Did you reboot your PC? If not go ahead and do so. You did everything right. EDIT: Run THIS and look for Sony Vegas on the list, if you find it? Remove it. Run CCleaner and clean the registry. Restart and go ahead and install Sony Vegas it should work. The problem I think you are having is that you might have partial of the software installed and it's causing issues with the installer. I use to have this problem all the time with Paint.net-another framework application. By using the MS cleanup utility it would solve the issue every single time. Mince
I uninstalled Sony Vegas, and tried the Windows Cleanup program. It didn't find anything, so I did a scan with CCleaner. It fixed a bunch of registry issues. I installed Vegas again, and it still won't work. I tried everything re-booted a bunch of times (both manually and through Windows)... and it still isn't working. Star-Lord
EDIT: Problem solved. Issue was fixed by installing framework Ver. 3.0, and removing older framework versions. Edited November 3, 2009 by pcguytech_2005
