Balthazzar
I played GTA IV till 40% with a Nvidia Geforce 7900 GS. The graphics was not very nice, there were some very late appearing objects and so on. But everything ran well. No Crashes, and a acceptable FPS-rate! So I thought, I buy a better graphic card and will have better graphics. Now I have a Nvidia GTX 260 with 1792 MB VRAM. And now I have better graphics, but after a short time this annoying RESC10-error. So I googled a lot and read nearly everything to this error. No fix! My system specifications: Intel Core 2 Duo 6420 @ 2.13GHz 2 GB RAM Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit DirectX 9.24 DualHead with 2x19"-TFTs @ 1280x1024px GTA IV-Version 1.0.4 Things, which I tried already:Reinstalled DirectX (9.24) Updated to Windows Vista Service Pack 2 Updated to Nvidia Beta Drivers (195.39) Added consolecommands.txt: -norestrictions Disabled Clip Capture Disabled Nvidia PhysX Set pre-rendered frames to 0 Set to "Compability performance mode" Increased PagedPoolSize Are there any other ideas or solutions? What should I do? Edited November 1, 2009 by Balthazzar
mkey82
Have you tried the memrestrict command described in the pinned topic? Have you tried reinstalling the GPU drivers after the upgrade?
Balthazzar
Have you tried reinstalling the GPU drivers after the upgrade? That was one of the first things I did. (=> Updated to Nvidia Beta Drivers (195.39)) Btw. I tried also the last WHQL-certified driver. (191.07) Is there any chance with an other, older version? I have tried all -memrestrict commands. A lower value makes the problem worse, I mean.
mkey82
Try cleaning the GPU drivers and installing some older version.
link626
yeah this is bullshiit. i also upgraded from a 7600gt 256mb card to a 9500gt 512mb card because my 7600gt had a defect. I also upgraded from a single core athlon64, to a quad core cpu. and upped from 2gb ddr to 4gb ddr2. the 256mb 7600gt + single core cpu used to play the game without any errors. Now the 512mb card gets the fckin RESC10 error at the same graphics settings as the old 256mb card!!!! i cleaned out the drivers, reinstalled old drivers. same shiit. how could this f*ck up so much? i am so pissed
