RAMBO 1st BL00D Posted October 31, 2009 Share Posted October 31, 2009 After the superb Base jumping multiplayer trailer I thought this was going to be a proper multiplayer mode, I was gutted when I found out it wasn't, then of course there us the superb triathlon race mode in single player,nope, no there either. Why are these modes not available straight out the box as multiplayer game modes??? I can't help but feel that Rockstar have screwed up the multiplayer big time this time around , so much scope, ruined first of all by the lack of matchmaking (brilliant sitting in lobbies on your own for ages) & then the 2 freshest race modes in ages are nowhere to be seen. I would love to think the 2 race modes could be added with a patch, but I think we all know they are done now, & very unlikely to ever go back to it. Shame, could have been superb. Erm, I did, the multiplayer could have been better, 2 good modes there that are not utilised at all for multiplayer. Yes I would say R* have messed up, firstly playing with us/teasing us with new modes that don't exist. Secondly Co-op multiplayer missions are a must and they just haven't bothered. It is only in free mode, not how u think it is going to be due to the video. Try a triathlon race in single player, honestly, it would have been a refreshing twist on the racing genre, u start from parachuting from a helicopter, then reach a boat, then finish off in a car, it is superb, would have been amazing online online (if u are not sitting in an empty lobby). There is no way multiplayer was "just tacked on". There was a decent array of mutliplayer modes through GTAIV & TLAD, they did not seem like a last minute thing to me. (Lack of matchmaking sucks though). For the grand finale, I think they made the wrong choices for multiplayer game types (well, the fact that there isn't really any), & to top it all, where the feck is my VICE CITY FM???? I paid good money for both these DLC's. (of course, that's another gripe). Matchmaking & dedicated servers would make GTA online pretty sweet, Triathlon really needs to be a multiplayer mode, & the base jumping race thing looked damn interesting too. timthelegend93 Posted October 31, 2009 Share Posted October 31, 2009 the number of features in this dlc in the single player is a lot more than i expected, so something had to take the dive and in this case its the multiplayer. i can cope with this, but i find the matchmaking thing a real pain in the backside, i mean you cant do the co-op missions (i.e hangmans noose, bomb da base) with your friends by the means of party mode in ranked, i mean whats up with that? the same goes for gta race and race modes.( im talking about ranked matches) rockstar have given us more than enough to satisfy us in the single player aspect, and thats where it has its roots. lets just hope that the next gta improves this Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

For those who don't know what triathlon race is... SPOILER BELOW You start in helicopters, then the race starts and you parachute down all at the same time, racing to get to a boat first, then drive to land, get out and run and find a car, and then get to finish line.
