Dude, That's not a gun that's a friggin artillery cannon, That sucker must kick like a mule or very least a shotgun and require a massive grip on it before firing.

That’s insane!

Interestingly, you don’t gain much velocity past a 9” barrel, http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/blackhills2.html, but what hell of a conversation piece!! 😁

Trust me, it's not by choice. All firearms require at LEAST a 12" barrel and 24" overall length otherwise they are prohibited, hence the weird rod sticking out the grip also.

I would love a 6 or 5 inch barrel but its somehow more dangerous than this is...

Not much recoil, you generally feel less with more weight and larger barrel length. I usually only shoot .38 specials and wadcutters out of them due to their cheaper price and larger availability than .357 magnum. Wadcutters make it feel like a .22.

Also, went to the range:

Galil Ace 7.62x39

3H7A5UW.jpg

Integrally suppressed Maxim 9, you can add or remove baffle stacks for shorter or quieter use. Built off a glock so the trigger was sh*t. And a Hudson H9, it has extra recoil springs below the slide to make it super low recoiling, it was probably one of the easiest 9mm pistols to shoot along with the 92FS. Loved this one, felt amazing in the hand, trigger was nice, 1911 grip angle and low bore axis. I think the company is now bust but the gun is real nice for the range.

CeTMsOd.jpg

A S&W Performance centrer .22 (Only got one shot off as the bastards didnt have an extractor in it, but the one shot I did fire was accurate as hell and the comp was giving me downward recoil... Also a Rugle Single Six, should be called the single sex, really. Very slick, just don't try and shoot it in a hurry, .22 is very fiddly with a SAA clone over larger calibres.

LMT Confined Space Weapon

This is a 300 Blackout rifle with 10.5” barrel that, much like that Maxim 9 Daz posted earlier, is integrally suppressed. Because it is both suppressed and is short barreled, it took almost a year and three months to get approved from the ATF/FBI after initial purchase. In the meantime I had done some upgrading to it; both an ACOG Trijicon green dot and Geisele SSA-E trigger. The only other upgrade I plan is some 45 degree KAC iron sights for backup. I am foregoing LMT’s magazines for Lancer’s. They are one of very few magazines that don’t bind when using boutique 300 blackout rounds in 5.56 magazines, such as G2’s Ripouts or Lehigh’s Controlled Fracturing bullets (pictured below). I’ll be doing some testing with these to rate effectiveness, as I’m not personally familiar with the ballistics of 300 subs. Should have it dialed in within a week or two. 😁

SySleq.jpg

Since I last posted, I’ve also picked up a Micro 9 and M4 Entry. Should have the Entry in a year-ish.

Other than that, been a pretty boring year with firearms since I’ve last posted.

Been a long ass time since I posted here

Finally put the 74u style expansion chamber/brake on the M92 and swapped the WASR over to a Magpul MOE stock with a RD adaptor. The brake on the WASR was also swapped to a PWS FSC compensator from the old slant brake. Want to nab a couple KNS pistons for them next and Zenitco mlok furniture as well.

These are my pair of replica Colt percussion revolvers by Uberti. The one to the left is a Model 1848 Dragoon, the one to the right a Model 1860 Army.

H4fzgy.jpg

A note to Red Dead Online players: If you think the Navy Revolver is the most awesome six-shooter there is, bear in mind the 1860 Army is the same size as that gun but beefed up to .44 caliber instead. The Dragoon makes the Navy look downright dainty by comparison, and then you have to comprehend that the Dragoon itself is a cut-down version of the Colt Walker.

Picked up my Benelli M4 semi auto short barreled shotgun a couple of days ago. Finally got cleared and tax stamp came in. It’s the 11724 model which has the retractable butt stock and rail for optics. Not planning any mods at the moment. Also purchased a 380 EZ for my mom while I was at the gun store. She has a Sig 380 but has a hard time racking and loading due to deteriorating hand strength. She was reallllly happy when I got it in her hands and was able to play with the mechanics of the gun. Felt like I had made a solid purchase for her. 🙂

Nice. I really want a Benelli M4. Definitely one of my favorite shotguns. Next purchase will probably an MCX Virtus and perhaps another short AK.

My setups have been updated quite a bit since my last post here. Also got an AR15 to keep the AK's company.

Very cool collection, Audi! I like those choices very much.

Stateside, Benelli is getting upset with dealers selling any Benelli models with the collapsible stocks. They’re saying they are for LE only. Those are going to become very rare here, I think. Personally, I think Benelli makes the best tactical shotguns, but for sporting I think Beretta takes it. Some day I’ll get a nice Beretta.

The MCS Virtus is a nice weapon for confined work. Look forward to seeing what you do with yours if you pick one up!

I put a Noveske Leonidas on order. Hopefully I’ll be able to get my passport photos and fingerprint cards done (with this covid-19 crap going on) sooner than later to get the NFA paperwork started. It’s a nice .308 ar with a 12.5” barrel, so you can imagine the bark it has. It’ll definitely be my “everyone stfu” gun at the range. 🤣 I’m also looking to get it set up for 8.6 Creedmoor when it finally gets released. It’s being developed by the same guys that brought us .300 Blackout, so it’s a large bullet meant for serious takedown power, yet shine in suppressed form. It used the same bolt and mags, etc as a .308. And it’s being designed for a 12.5” barrel. So, I’ll be able to legally do just a simple barrel swap on the Leonidas and I’ll be able to run subsonic with a can and it’ll have much more stopping power than the .300 Blackout with roughly the same amount of low level dB. Looking forward to seeing this get into production!

Here’s a video about it, if you’re interested. He’s wrong about the release timing, but everything else is spot on:

Think the big difference was velocity and weight.  1860 Army was more of a calvary or officers weapon to be holstered on a horse, rather than the Navy Revolver which was meant more to be worn on the hip (and not saying you couldn’t do both with either, just mentioning their targeted use and who preferred it).

Plus the 1851 was favored more on some of them “Old West” Outlaws and Lawmen alike - not until the Peacemaker came out that is. The 1860 would definitely be one of the heavier revolvers in the game if implemented, if not the heaviest.

In-game, we don’t have really a robust horse vs foot setups with weapons, all are meant to be used in ground.  And in-game, it’s pretty badass.  I stick to my LeMat’s though.

The 1860 Army has the same frame as the 1851 Navy.

The primary upgrade was in the cylinder-- the new alloy steel available in 1860 meant Colt could get away with boring big .44 caliber chambers into a slightly widened cylinder without blowing it apart.

The 1860 Army is the same exact weight as a 1911 Colt Automatic. It's a belt gun.

The 1851 was indeed more popular, but it was more to do with caliber arguments rather than the guns' weights. A gun of .36 caliber is absolutely deadly against another person while being more efficient and with less recoil. A gun of .44 caliber was intended to down large animals such as enemy horses.

maybe that’s where I’m getting it mixed up - it’s been a while since I dug my history book, I just always thought of the 1860 as a Calvary weapon rather than a preferred sidearm meant for full carry.

larger cylinder - did that affect holster weight, wider holster and all?

The 1860's cylinder is larger in the respect that it's slightly longer within the frame (the barrel's cone is shortened to compensate) and the front half of the cylinder is wider by 2mm (while the back half is the same diameter as the 1851 Navy). Not enough to alter the holster width, but the standard 1860 Army does have a barrel that's a half-inch longer-- think of like an 1851 Navy with the barrel length upgrade in RDR2.

81v6Qx.jpg

The 1848 Dragoon cylinder and the 1860 Army to the right. These are both .44 caliber, the historical difference being the cylinder on the left would have been made out of wrought iron in 1848 while the other was steel in 1860.

The .36 caliber Navy cylinder would be the same overall diameter as the one on the right, but their chambers had the spacing seen on the one to the left. They needed that much iron between the chambers to maintain strength.

So,I was bored today and had nothing better to do,so I converted an old cellphone holster into a pistol holster with a built in magazine pouch lol

Before:

96028048_2949127168500901_82884022683408 95897381_2949127371834214_30295199288655

Actually, this is a different cellphone holster (notice the camo pattern),I had two.

After:

95586698_2949127405167544_86114812016784 95290354_2949127631834188_42468398681659

It looks kinda crude and the mag just barely fits in the pouch, but it's functional.

Did my paperwork on the Leonidas today and picked this up. Just a KAC SR-15. Normal 16” barrel. Normal 5.56 round. I don’t have many “normals” in my collection, so this was fitting to add. I had them install a Giesele SSA-E trigger before I left. It’ll make a great practice weapon.

So,a guy I know posted an Instagram story doing this:

107768905_3121103534636596_3603322962746

I really hope it's an airsoft gun, cause I can't believe a grown ass man can be so reckless with a real gun and point it at someone with a finger on the trigger, even with the safety on it's a stupid thing to do.

Yeah,I don't know is the gun his,or the guy's he's pointing it at,or someone else's,but whoever gave it to him should have explained some basic rules of gun safety to him.

I could be wrong but it looks like the magazine is out of the pistol which is good gun practice especially after you cock it back and release anything in the barrel. Sadly, I've seen people all over the internet do that. They think having the clip out and/or releasing the barrel makes it alright to aim the gun around the room/at others. I was taught a gun's barrel is never aimed anywhere but the floor when I got my first BB gun at my fifth birthday. It was literally the first thing taught to me.

It always floors me to see such stupidity around guns. Hell, if we're being honest don't aim anything at me, gun or rubber band. One can put an eye out and the other can put me down.

Certainly not someone I’d want to spend my time with.

Last year I introduced a friend of mine that did a few tours in Somalia to my preferred gun dealer. When checking out some of the guns he looked through the sights at customers heads (unbeknownst to them, they were facing the other direction). His actions immediately made me embarrassed so I got him out of there. He explained it was his instinctive reaction and he didn’t mean anything by it. He said he didn’t do it on purpose.

Safe to say I’ll never put another gun between us.
