You could always grind a chunk off the hammer to avoid it like people with high grips do with M1911s and other pistols prone to it.

I never had that issue when I shot one, though it wasn't more than a few mags worth.

It was a spur hammer and in .40 S+W too.

The guns are nice, and a nice piece of history, it is worth getting a bit of work done on them to make them more comfortable.

I've heard many people complain about hammer bite on the PPK/S but have yet to have that issue myself. It really depends on how big your hands are and your grip technique.

Managed to find some 9mm nearby luckily, lugged it to the range and nearly broke my back.

Anyway forgot I had this pic, Chiappa reproduction of a Spencer carbine in .45 colt.

I believe one of 2 if not the only one that was in the country...

vgStSMN.jpg

Also, updated snap of all my toys as of now...

6rKBeGa.jpg

Got a freebie leather recoil pad worth £22 quid gifted to me in the mail today which was nice. It's on the winchester.

I also got a go-pro and did some vids, not sure if worth sharing or not...

That's a classy looking lever-action

Second pic I mean, though the Spencer is cool

Looking to get a new smaller compact handgun then the SCCY-CPX it's too noticeable even when wearing IWB you can still see the profile of the handle.

What you guys think of the 9mm Shield Compact?

I've heard good things about the S&W M&P Shield line but don't have personal experience with them. I'm really contimplating either an M92 or M85 AK pistol but hear there is a shortage on Zastava pistols lately.

Suppose I'll share another part of the collection: a Browning Buck Mark, chambered in .22LR. The serial number puts it as having been manufactured in the mid '90s.

wMzH9W.jpg

79mdt6.jpg

I'd like to pick up more magazines for it at some point... I'm curious if there's any aftermarket Buck Mark mags available that hold more than 10 rounds, although a quick search leads me to believe that's sadly not the case.

So I've been browsing gunbroker again and I see a Yugo Kar98 converted to .308. Im very tempted as it would be nice to have one in a more convenient round then 8mm mauser. Though part of me wants to get one in the orginal cailber it was designed for.

1: The Shield and the Glock 43 are pretty much industry standard these days for carry purposes. Don't think there would ever be an issue with that thing for it's price.

2: I am unaware of any buckmark mag extensions as it is single stack, however you may be able to find a custom magazine follower that might give a few extra rounds as I know the GSG1911 .22 you can do that with but it might be a stretch.

3: Get that K98 man. I know you can get some 8mm from PPU and possibly some other european brands, but .308 sounds more usable. I guess it depends if you intend to shoot it alot or just want it as a collection piece. I had a look at one of those Norinco Mini Mausers in .22LR recently. Nice enough as it is built off the CZ 452 action, but it didn't float by boat enough to get it. Was used and it was a bitch to get the magazine out and the bolt was kind of sticky. The overall wood finish seemed cheap too. Where as I could get a BSA sportsman 5 for like £65 and it is 10 times better than that thing.

Looking at possibly getting a Browning pump action .22 takedown or something similar. Maybe one of the new henry's.

and in the interest of Buckmarks, I've had whatever they called the round barreled version for years now.

pxzUPGN.jpg

I've had one of those little red dot sites sitting on my desk for ten years now that never went on because I was too lazy to buy the rail for it. Now I use it to hold up my cellphone when I do conference calls at work.

Haha, 308, you know it's for the best...

Grabbed a new sight, not super high end but just want to try sh*t out before I commit to an RMR or something.

Also got a B.A.D safety lever for my AR, as it has the lever on the other side the safety has to be on the right, it was digging into my hand while shooting so got a shorter one. I don't need to use the thing anyway as its just a range toy.

Few post back I mentioned eyeing a Mauser that was re-chambered for 308 which is the one in the pic. Odd thing is the paperwork listed it as 7.62 NATO which they are similar though not entirely interchangeable. Think I'm going to have a gunsmith verify what's best for it.

Ohhh I see, that's probably a good idea. You might want to see if they think it can even handle the increased pressures of the .308 cartridge shape too, just to be on the safe side.

On the other hand, since it's a big bulky piece of military surplus steel that's probably so soft it's tougher than nails, you could just buy .308 and 7.62 and see which fits better. Use a sharpie on the shell casings to see where the chamber/breech is rubbing and which seats better.

I would bet it's 7.62 NATO. If someone was going to take the time to make such a modification they probably were shooting for making it shoot the cheapest ammo available and 7.62 surplus ammo is cheaper than commercial grade .308 as far as I know.

That is a sweet mod though! I shot a 8mm Mauser once, and the only part I didn't like was the cost of 8mm ammo.

I highly doubt any of that would ever be an issue unless it was some botch job.

Plenty of f*ckers here shoot milsurp rifles with modern commercial loads in all the old calibers. like 8mm, 6.5mm and .303. Mostly PPU branded sh*t and theirs is always pretty hot.

Managed to shoot a Carl Gustav Swedish Mauser in 6.5mm a while back, very smooth. blocky as f*ck sights for shooting at 200 yards, but I still got them all in the black.

So I've been thinking about buying a shoulder holster for my Walther P1. Only problem is the gun profile is pretty uncommon for a holster and might require buying one online (which like clothing I don't like doing). I was observing the the military holster it came with and a thought occured to me, what if I were to buy a repo version and cut off the top flap? It seems like the bulkiness in the holster mostly comes from the flap.

From what I know,Zastava M48 cartridge was 7.92x57.

My parents told me that back in Yugoslavia they had to train shooting on those rifles in high school (from what I understood,it was a part of some defense class, which was mandatory during cold war).My mom told me that when she first fired that gun,it almost dislocated her shoulder.Still, old folks were lucky to learn how to shoot from a rifle in school, when I was a kid,I could only shoot cheap plastic airsoft guns.

It's so unrealistic to see people on the forums having so much weapons, I think I never touched an gun or rifle in my entire life but that's probably because Dutch weapons laws are very strict haha.

Same. I watch this topic and people with awesome guns and here I am in poland and all I have is a BB rifle and airsoft revolver. Feels bad man.

Finally found a Holosun available in the UK, well, off amazon in china from a dodgy seller, but all worked out alright and I got it for a good price. A load of them were super overpriced on brownells, like £120+ overpriced. So am pleased.

It's the solar version, works without a battery which is nice. But the battery alone matches the Aimpoint T-1 Micro of 5.7 years on one battery if left on straight. That enhanced by solar will make it live forever.
pdYlSrW.jpg

FYI, this is for comparison, not for use obviously. Maybe I should put all my optics all in a row on it and take it to the range and see what looks I get.

Edit: put on some rail covers, tightened down the handguard and shoved the irons back on for a Larry Vickers look.

Managed to get over to the states for a few weeks, went to a place in florida that is literally like the most high tech, clean, robocop/80s-esque place I have ever seen. It was ridic. The place looked like something out of a movie. Some serious money put in to it.

Anyway, I got to shoot the following

AR15 .300 Blackout
AR15 .223
Tavor Tar-21
Walther PPQ
Glock17 Custom Silenced
M9
CZ75 Police
Wilson Combat 1911
S&W Victory .22
S&W M&P Compact .22
MP5A5 .40 FullAuto
G36C FullAuto

The only way I can describe full auto is "hilarious". Just f*cking jokes how fun it is.
