OutOfTimer
I've only been here for a few days, and I haven't really seen one of these infamous 360 fanboys you guys keep talking about. Like... uhm... yourself?
CharmingCharlie
Also the PC folks may say that's not fair but they made their decision(I'm not bashing you CC or anyone who has the PC version) to spend at least $1,000 on a PC to run this game. A thousand dollars is not a lot of money in this day and age. The PS3 on launch was around $850 in my country (the UK). Now would you consider it insane for someone to spend the equivalent of $850 to play GTA 4 on the PS3 ? So the least they cold do is buy a 360 for the DLC or a PS3 for Agent and the advanced DLC. Or both to enjoy all the exclusives. I mean even if you have to get a part time job on the weekends. I don't have a job yet but I've calculated that if I get a 20 hour a week job and work at minimum wage I'll make $600-$700 in a month. Enough for a PS3, a 360 and a few games or a decent custom built PC. As I have said time and time again, it isn't about the money. I could go out right now and buy a 360, PS3, Wii and a HD TV to go with each of them if I so wanted. It is about VALUE for money, there is no point in me buying a Wii because there is nothing that interests me. I do not find anything of interest on the PS3 to warrant buying a PS3 and the 360 only had the DLC that interested me and it isn't worth spending nearly $400 to buy a 360 to play the DLC. All the games I want to play are on the PC. There is also the issue that games play differently on the PC. I am a PC gamer of nearly 20 years, that is 20 years of playing games with mouse and keyboard. There is just something about playing games with the mouse and keyboard that "clicks" with me. I have played GTA 4 on the 360 with a joypad and I can tell you now I hated every f*cking minute. I hated auto aim, I hated manual aim, I hated the fact you needed two damn hands to drive and I hated the way the game played on the 360. Now if you are happy to game on a console I am not here to change your mind, you get on with it if you are happy with that. However I am a PC gamer, I game on the PC not out of some blind "loyalty" but because the games feel better to me on the PC. If I have a choice of either playing the game on the console or not playing it at all, then I would choose not playing it at all any day of the week. Also I've been wondering this for awhile. How much did your PC cost to build charlie? Tis a bit off topic but I will indulge ya btw you will notice I never call my PC's "rigs" I f*cking hate that term a PC isn't a bloody rig. I have two PC's :- E6600 Dual core @ 2.4ghz with 8800gts and 2gbs of ram, I bought it about 3ish years ago and it cost just under $800 and runs GTA 4 on the same settings as the console at about 30fps. Q6600 Quad core @ 2.4ghz with GTX260 and 3gbs of ram, I bought it about 2ish years ago (the graphics card about 6 months ago) and in total it cost me about $800 and runs GTA 4 on High settings at 1680 x 1050 around 30 - 40fps. If I bump the settings down to the console settings I get around 50 - 60 fps. I am not a Sony fanboy believe me I love the PS3 about as much as I love the 360. But I firmly believe that people have the right to play GTA 4 and the DLC on the platform then want to play it on. Obviously I am over the moon (if they put that damn moon back in the PC version) that the PC is getting the DLC. I cannot wait to play it on my preferred platform, the one I enjoy playing games on. However I am confident that the PS3 will get the DLC soon enough.
Cilogy
So Charlie, if I'm getting this right, the only reason Microsoft is moving it to GFWL is because they want to milk this exclusivity and possibly the "timed deal" as long as they want. Is that right? That makes sense, for them I mean. Damn, then it proves that this really IS a timed deal. That's cool, I just hope they f*cking release the addons before they release the next GTA, otherwise they will lose PS3 fans.
Ash_735
I just hope the PC version gets the Full TLAD that's on EFLC and not the original "Beta" version that Xboxers got as DLC. They could of at least offered an update to us who have DLC to get the improvements but no, Rockstar only care about money, porting the improvements to DLC wouldn't make them anymore money. Subtle improvements: - EFLC uses TBOGT so M9, Hercules, Luis' parking spaces, Stairs and Ladders to top of Rotterdam Tower, etc - You can also hear music coming from M9, Hercules and Bahama Mamas when you are near, even L.C.H.C coming from the Fight Club. - Less compression on character textures (only slightly noticeable, look at Johnny's Jacket and other main characters) - Altered character animation so they look a little smoother - Altered vehicle handling (up to now I've noticed on a few bikes and cars) - Lost Clubhouse (when un-burnt down ) has better lighting - Lost Clubhouse has better Night Lighting outside Also slight cutscene alterations due to TBOGT to match up events. Only small changes, but just small enough to leave me feeling annoyed that it's left out of the DLC version! @LCstuntman: Where to start, Bully PC, Bully 360 and GTA IV PC are the main ones done by other studios that were a right mess when released. I think R* is done with updating and adding more stuff, so all they will do is port the addons to PC without an update. In other words, the 360 version will be the same as the PC version in terms of quality.
GamerShotgun
That would be plain stupid, considering that the PC version of Vanilla IV has options where you can set texture definition and such... so better textures is a must if the DLCs are coming to PC. And I didn't mention other options mate... It IS essential to tweak the DLC files a bit, to fit the PC game properly.

agincourtsalute
I think to wait for the EFLC disc is the best thing to do because Vice City FM isn't in the DLC, I'd rather buy a disc anyway because companies don't give you the same consumer rights with downloads. That's cool, I just hope they f*cking release the addons before they release the next GTA, otherwise they will lose PS3 fans. Yup that is exactly what I am saying, it all makes sense and it all "fits" with what we know about Microsoft and Rockstar. I think I have shown conclusively that Microsoft does not do PC gaming any "favours". I believe if this deal had been 50 million for total exclusivity you wouldn't be seeing the DLC on any other system except the 360. So now we are seeing it come to the PC we have to wonder if the 50 million deal was actually a loan all along for timed exclusivity. Remember we are not supposed to know about TLaD coming to the PC yet, this was a f*ck up on MS's part with the patch. I personally believe this patch was actually meant to come out at the end of November, the fact that Rockstar have lost their voice with regard to all this shows they got caught with their pants down. I don't think it is any coincidence that TLaD has been out almost a year and all of a sudden the PC is going to get the DLC. I think it is a clear indication that MS is going to lose control of TLaD exclusivity and they are taking one last stab at milking it. After all they might as well try and entice PS3 users to buy the DLC on the PC first (a lot of PS3 owners also have a PC capable of playing GTA 4). They probably are of the view that releasing the DLC on the PC before it inevitably comes to the PS3 may harm sales of the DLC on the PS3 a bit further. There isn't a shred of doubt in my mind that by the end of 2010 all the DLC will be available on the PC, 360 and PS3. This will then leave them open to announcing a new GTA at the end of 2010 ready for release in 2011. Oh and those expecting extra bits in the DLC should temper their expectations you will get the same DLC that the PC and 360 got. There will be NO extra content, this content will be a straight port from the 360.

Sony on the other hand won't let any game developer port a former Xbox Exclusive without extra bits to the PS3, there are several examples and information about this. There have also been several examples where the PS3 got the same DLC as the 360. The most recent example is Fallout 3 as far as I am aware the DLC on the PS3 is exactly the same as the DLC on the PC and 360. I know all about Sony "demanding" developers bring extra content to the PS3 but this is on a case by case basis and I do not believe GTA 4 is one of these cases. The PS3 will get the same content that the PC and 360 users got
agincourtsalute
It wouldn't matter if Sony usually only had DLC with extras added on PS3 because they won't say to R* no you can't port this to the PS3 and have R* turn around to their millions of fans and say Sony wouldn't let us give you the DLC. I don't think if it comes to PC first rather than the PC and PS3 simultaneously that it will affect sales on the PS3, because I think the people who have a suitable PC and a PS3 can be put into two categories: 1) People who will buy just the PC version beause of the superior graphics and extra features like the video. 2) People who will buy both versions, the PC versions for the same reasons and the PS3 version because they feel more comfortable playing with the PS controller or to play multi-player with mates who have a PS3. In my opinion the only thing that could affect PS3 DLC sales would've been if it was released for PS3 first.
Slamman
I think it's a matter of time, like everyone else. No worries that Sony would refuse it, it's no skin off their nose, and I'm sure they got a backlash about decisions so far regarding GTA, so they'd probably welcome the addition. Also, forgetting people who only buy on console, for more then just the controller, because it's very little hassle to dive into gameplay, versus a PC as a multi-session tool, open to many tasks, the PS3 and Xbox deal in gaming first and foremost. Aside from that as well, modding is what interest future game owners, hoping it becomes a reality, would also buy presently released games. I was talking about the point CC made about Microsoft might be hoping that to release the DLC for PC before its release on PS3 might hurt sales of the DLC on PS3. I ignored people who will only get it on consoles because the people who will only get it only on PS3 will wait and the 360 people already have it. CharmingCharlie
Well this has come as a shock I actually agree with Sexual Chocolate . You will not see any DLC on the PS3 this year. Obviously the PC is gearing up to get the first DLC, I imagine they will get that out for Xmas on the PC (although they don't seem to be hurrying themselves to announce it). However PS3 owners will have to wait till 2010 to get hold of the DLC.

grandsanman
i say we(ps3 and pc) will get the dlc some where in between January-march, 2010, it seems very realistic to me. i wouldsay, if it does come out around that time it will be flying off the shelves as opposed to releasing it later where it wont be that appealing because some people simply do not care for it any more, personal issues have derailed them from dlc, or other new games have caught the consumers attention. I think that 2009 of November to 2010 of march is a reasonable gap for rockstar to put it out on other consoles. R* will make tons of money from making it to exclusive to 360, and when enough time has passed by that sales are going slow for the dlc on 360 that they will release to all and make even more money. Im also guessing if they do what i said they would, they would make lots of money from having it come out to all the consoles. They would also be making money while gta V is in the making. Basically what im saying is that R* is going to going to give a good enough buffering for dlc that it wouldn't hurt sales and they would make some MULA, instead of having average to slow sales on 1 system while they make GTA V Edited November 14, 2009 by grandsanman
jnzooger
I have a strange feeling PC users are gonna get shafted like 360 users did with TLaD. My thought is that they are gonna release TLaD PC before Christmas, then around March 2010, they will release EfLC for both PC and PS3 (only option on PS3 to get the DLC). Garfield 2
I was just browsing some old GTA IV videos on YouTube and actually most of GTA IV info is not true: - You can ride a bus - There will be only 1 BMX - No helicopters and planes Also I've noticed that not all of them say that the Xbox content is exclusive. They say it more-less like this: "This content will be available on Xbox 360 months after release of GTA IV" - None of them say it will be available on Xbox 360 EXCLUSIVELY months after release... But because Rockstar is quiet I just think it was a major f*ck up by them. (TLaD Achievements in PC version)
