I DL'd TLAD, but I dont Trust DLing TBOGT....

Ok so I downloaded TLAD because I had no choice, and luckily, I got lucky and nothing happened to my system. I fear for my system if I take the chance and download TBOGT. I feel like it is going to overload my system and make it RROD. They simply added too many new features to TBOGT and if I download it right to my XBOX I fear I will run into problems.

I figure screw it, Ill just spend the extra 20 bucks to get both DLC's on disk. It'll take a lot of stress off my system and probably prevent TBOGT from frying my harddrive. I just fear with all the new features, my xbox wont be able to handle everything thrown at it, and overload and RROD because it wouldn't know what else to do. Disc seem like the much safer way to go. I just dont trust downloading something to my Xbox that might have too many bugs in the first place, where it breaks my 360.

I can always take a faulty game disc back, I can't take a system that TBOGT broke back...

Anyone else going to just go out and buy the disc set even though you already DL'd TLAD, to save yourself the risk of DLing a game that could potentially RROD your 360?

I'm thinking long term here folks. I'll go ahead and pay an extra 20 bucks now, then worry about the game I just DL'd overloading my system and frying components and have to buy a whole new system all together. You do the math, 20 bucks for a game you already have, or fees to send it in to get fixed, or all together having buying a new system which costs you atleast $200. In this case.. $20 > $200++

Instead of whining about how downloading can ruin your XBOX, why don't you wait 3 days later and get Episodes from Liberty City.

on a 20 GB harddrive, which is really only a 12 GB harddrive, this is getting close to taking up half of your HD.. You think I'm really going to risk it? TBOGT has too many new features, has a whole new glamour color scheme.. I dont want to download a bugged game straight to my XBOX and have it fry my system.. It's not happening, not on my watch.

You can go ahead and put your xbox at risk over 20 bucks. I for one, WILL NOT. I'll be laughing playing TBOGT online, while your system is out of commission at microsoft headquarters along with several thousand other systems trying to get fixed. You'll be waiting, I'll be playing.. Later bro, pz kid.

I am.. That's what this thread is about. I'm not going to risk DLing TBOGT.. It's too risky. I don't trust it for some reason. I feel much better about playing it on disk, then have it DL'ed straight to my box, giving it the chance of frying something.. It's a new game, it's bound to have bugs.

Over 20 bucks? Come on now. Can't do it. I can afford $20, I can't afford to buy another 360 if TBOGT rapes my system.

The Disc supports the DLC. So there is no risk of your harddrive frying.

Most RROD's are cause not by downloading too much, but by actual physical damage to your 360 via overheating.

The only thing downloading too much stuff will do is ... well, its a pain in the ass.

Generally no threat in downloading it, but if you download stuff from Xbox Live on Fridays after 3:00 am eastern standard time then a creature pops out of your screen, puts on a silk glove and slaps you across the face. Scars you for life.

A HDD isn't going to cause RROD, at least I've never heard of it happening. It's usually due to overheating or problems with the GPU from what I've read, and you're going to be loading the same content either way. Obviously the choice is yours, but I really can't see it making a difference.

Nah, I'm actually going to download it on Xbox Live because I already have The Lost and Damned, and it's much easier access when I want to switch from The Ballad of Gay Tony to GTA IV. I don't think you'll get the Red Rings of Death because a game is too buggy. I doubt that if you got it for TLaD, you'll get it for TBoGT. How many Gigabytes do you have on your Xbox? If you have 20GB, then it's probably best that you do buy it on a disk so you can save your space for exclusive content. (But thats only m opinion, there are many people that might disagree with me).

you are an idiot waste of a topic

I don't think your a waste of a topic, I've seen way worse than this on these forums. Your probably just someone conserned that maybe shouldn't be? Xbox doesn't get the Red Rings for no reason, usually you get it after playing a game for 6+ hours non stop which causes the system to over heat. You should just relax and not worry about it, Lost and Damned wasn't really buggy so I doubt this wil be too.

-Hope I helped

By the way, what did you mean by this?

I downloaded TLAD because I had no choice

Since when does a fullhard drive, or almost full hard drive for that matter=RROD? No worries about downloading at all.

The 360 has never seen a game of this magnitude.. So many new features I can't even begin to explain them all. I'm glad they're putting this game on disc, if they did it strictly for download, I dont think I could risk DL'ing it. Sure TLAD wasn't that big of a risk, it didn't have anywhere near as many features as TBOGT has. It was just a small expansion pack..

But TBOGT, they opened up new clubs, new interiors, new cars, a different nightlife color scheme, new mini games, new tv shows. This is like San Andreas, but a DLC?? The hell out of here. There's no way I'm going to risk downloading a game of this magnitude to my system. It is out of the question. This game should be a $60 game in itself. I would've easily paid that, if it was that or DLC only. Here's my 60 bucks. Not going to risk TBOGT frying my harddrive, my disc drive, I dont even know if the 360 is capable of handling graphics and upgrades like that.

FREAKING NITRO? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? No way, I know if I DL TBOGT as soon as I hit the NOS button my entire system is going to freeze, fry, or RROD.. As much as I want to save the 20 bucks, I just can't do it.. The risk outweighs the reward. So 2 disc set it is...

I don't think the amount of features will have any effect on you getting the RROD. I would be more concerned about the amount of hours youare playing continuously on your xbox. I, for one, will be putting my Jasper to the test.

Actually, you buying the game and downloading it is practically the same thing because all the contents are the same except for the music which some might be removed for the included dis version. If my sysytem were to break down for downloading the game, I think yours would too since all the same content including bugs will be included. But I really doubt anyone will get Red Rings of Death. Xbox 360 is a gaming console made for playing games and media. TBoGT is a game, your actually treating the system as if it human cry.gif

Well it's your choice though. If you want to pay an extra $20 for Tlad when you already paid for it, it's your choice. I know my console isn't going to get damaged though...

Exactly.. DLing and playing TBOGT could easily make your system overheat... A disc is easy to keep clean, a harddrive when it's damn near full is hard to keep clean.. I could clean it up, but I have too much info for my other games to simply just erase everything just so I can give it more power to handle TBOGT.

A disc seems much less stressful on the system than having it have to go through all of my other game info on my harddrive to find TBOGT in there in order to play it. Go straight from a disc, or have to go through an entire harddrive full of crap to find a game and play it.. Yeah a disc is easier on the system, hence less chance of overheating..

You do know that Grand Theft Auto IV is available for download on Xbox Live, correct? If the original didn't cause any problems, I doubt that a downloadable content supporting that game is going to crash your console.

I'm sorry, but if you're not, you are the definition of fail.

GTA IV had almost the same exact "magnitude"... the only thing really new is the parachute. Yeah you can say "but theres an APC", but its really just a combination of a truck and explosives, which both already exist in GTA IV.

And NOS, but all it does is give a burst of speed...

EDIT: and 'two disc set'? Its one disc,

WHAT ABOUT NITRO BRO??

You know how much infermation that the system is going to have to process when those buildings are zooming past you.. The drawing distance at that rate could completely overload the system. RROD, fried harddrive, you name it. It's all risky. Atleast with the disc, the disc will break itself before it breaks your system.

If it's on your harddrive, it has no choice but to break your system. Those go hand in hand, a disc is stand alone. I'm sorry but Im weighing my options, and DLing TBOGT doesn't look too good. Too much can go wrong in that game with all the new features that the system simply cant handle it on its own, it needs the disc to relieve some of the stress TBOGT will give it.

HELICOPTERS = FASTER THAN CARS WITH NITRO!!

You can fly helicopters extremely low and have the same effect, and it loads fine!

lmao I know. There was just a mod in the thread, but I guess they want people to explode and show their true colors, so they can ban some people.
