radioman
Your Processor, Video Card and Ram ALL fall well below the minimum for the game. The minimum processor is an AMD Athlon X2 64 Dual Core w/2.4GHZ OR a Intel Core 2 Duo(1.8GHZ), The minimum Video card is an Nvidia 7900 OR ATI Radeon x1300 with at least 256MB VRAM, and the minimum RAM for XP is 1.5GB. So, you must upgrade your RAM, Processor, and Video Card in order to run IV. I get 15-17fps on a laptop with an AMD Athlon X2 64 Dual Core processor(2.1GHZ), Nvidia Geforce 8200M G with 1407mb VRAM, 3GB DDR 2 Ram, and Vista Home Premium SP1. I have almost the same exact specs on my desktop, except the only difference is that is a ATI Radeon X1250 w/1407MB VRAM, and the same exact processor and same exact RAM, and same OS, and the game will not run on that PC, but yet it runs on a laptop. Heck, with an AMD Sempron processor, you are lucky to run SA, yet alone IV,-as I have been there and done that, I had an AMD Sempron processor on my old XP desktop, and SA would not even run on it. Also, I had an AMD Sempron processor on my old XP laptop, and only got 10-15fps on it. So, it would probably be cheaper to get a whole new PC, as almost everything in your specs is wrong for the game. There is a Pinned topic on the minimum specs in the PC section, btw....definately worth a look over. Thank you, soo you mean it would be a alot cheaper to buy a new computer ? , i was thinking about sparing some money to buy a laptop Vista, but lets see how the future will go =) thx for your time writing it -izzee Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/429673-bad-graphic-and-laggy-iv/#findComment-1059580743 Share on other sites
radioman
Since you are planning on getting a laptop anyway, go for that option, instead of upgrading your current PC, that would be a wiser choice, imo, then you can use the info posted above as well as in the pinned topic in the PC section to pick out a laptop with specs that will run IV at a decent frame rate. You can then use your laptop as your "gaming PC". Glad I could help with your problem. Also, when choosing a video card, make sure it has dedicated memory rather than shared memory, to get the best result from the game. Just a heads up. mkey82
If you consider it for gaming, a laptop is not the best choice. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/429673-bad-graphic-and-laggy-iv/#findComment-1059581286 Share on other sites
