shinsta312
RAMJAM FM SELF-ACTUALIZATION FM ??????????????????? They're possibly two other exclusive stations to make up for the lack of the original tracks from GTA IV.
Darth Andrew
Someone in the spoiler thread said IV music is in TBoGT. What I'm curious about is whether TLaD music will be in TBoGT. TLaD weapons are in TBoGT, so hopefully the music is.
shinsta312
Someone in the spoiler thread said IV music is in TBoGT. Yeah. Indi. mentioned it. But rimbaud, who also got the copy early, mentioned that it's not in the game.
NYCLights
(gamefarter @ Oct 27 2009, 07:23) Today's mail at http://planetgrandtheftauto.gamespy.com/ , Jordan answers this question: QUOTE I know that The Ballad Of Gay Tony will be released on October. 29, and so will GTA Episodes From Liberty City, and I was just wondering, if I buy Episodes From Liberty City, will the music from The Lost and Damned and Ballad Of Gay Tony carry over into the regular GTA IV game? My other question is, will Episodes From Liberty City include the regular Grand Theft Auto IV music in it, or will it only have the music from The Lost and Damned and The Ballad Of Gay Tony? And this is the response he gave: QUOTE Thanks for the e-mail. The new music in The Ballad of Gay Tony will not carry over into Niko's story with the original game Grand Theft Auto IV. The added music for each episode is only available in each episode. Vice City FM will only be available if you buy the $40 in-store disc. As for your second question, the original music from the original GTA IV game will be available in each episode of episodic content. All in all, I don't think you'll be disappointed in the audio selections on the radio. While it has been a while since my favorite soundtrack (Vice City), the music is always lively and diverse. So, we are getting some mixed info from the GTA fansites. I couldnt see why the original IV music wouldnt be carried over, it was in TLAD. even if its not thats ok, ive heard the other songs so much. and if it is carried over thats great to. im not one to be picky LOL that was me that asked that question! anyway yea so i guess he means that the GTA IV music will be in Episodes From Liberty City but the Episodes From Liberty City music won't be in GTA IV. That's not what alot of other people said thhough damn I asked Rockstar about it on sunday and they still have'nt responded. If the GTA IV music wasn't in EFLC though that would mean some of the radio stattions wouldn't be there( Like Tuff Gong and San Juan Sounds ) which would explain why Rockstar made that shi*ty move with Vice City FM. That would be because some of the radio stations didn't get updated in either The Lost and Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony expansions, so since Episodes From Liberty City only includes the two expansions, if the original GTA IV music isn't there some of the radio stations would be missing. I couldnt see why the original IV music wouldnt be carried over, it was in TLAD. even if its not thats ok, ive heard the other songs so much. and if it is carried over thats great to. im not one to be picky The only reason original GTA IV music was in The Lost and Damned is because it shares file space with the regular GTA IV so they read off of eachother and share the music. Unfortunately Episodes From Liberty City is counted as a separate game so it doesn't share the same file as GTA IV and as such doesn't share the music UNLESS you buy The Ballad Of Gay Tony as DLC, then it will share the same file as GTA IV and The Lost and Damned, and they will all read of eachother and have eachother's music. But then you can't get Vice City FM so it's kinda a lose/lose situation. Edited October 27, 2009 by NYCLights
SilentBugler
It's simple. If for some odd reason you really must have all of the radio from IV available while you play through TBoGT, get the DLC version of the game. On the other hand, if you don't really care about that and are mainly interested in the new experiences that TBoGT has to offer, then pick either the DLC or the EfLC. You won't be disappointed either way. The little bit of extra radio added to EfLC is barely worth mentioning, and is primarily there to soften the blow of the loss of the GTAIV music. If you have EfLC you'll enjoy it, but if you go the DLC route don't lose any sleep over it. Why the differences? Some of the GTAIV radio does appear in EfLC, but it would cost a ridiculous amount of money to relicense all that licensed music. There are also practical reasons - there's simply no way that the GTAIV radio would fit on the EfLC disc.
Leo Colt
rimbaud went by the manual though. It's possible that the manual simply lists the new songs in TLAD and TBOGT and none of the existing GTA IV ones for whatever reason.
shinsta312
From what a211andrew (who also has the game) had mentioned, the music isn't in EFLC.
Leo Colt
Interesting... I wonder what Indi was on about then. Unless there's a hard drive thing going on again.
Toni boy
Someone in the spoiler thread said IV music is in TBoGT. Yeah. Indi. mentioned it. But rimbaud, who also got the copy early, mentioned that it's not in the game. He mentioned that it's not listed in the game's manual. It's possible that only the new radio content for both episodes is listed there but the old game's music exists on the disc. We should just wait a couple of days or so until we can get real confirmation. Edit: Disregard this, I was too slow to post.
NYCLights
Between These 3, Which one do you think would run the best? ( smoothness, lag, pop in, loading times, graphics ) TBoGT XBox Live Download? GTA: Episodes From Liberty City GTA: Episodes From Liberty City Downloaded to hard drive? More specifically, which one do you think would TBoGT run the best on?
Cilogy
Yeah but either andrew or someone else said they were listening to Vladivostok and they never heard any music from IV.
Leo Colt
The music is weighted so the newest stuff plays first. So unless it looped, who knows?
Chris P Waffle
OK. So now I will get the disk instead. (Comes with 3 all new stations + TLAD and BOGT music.) But what if I download both GTA 4 AND EFLC onto my HDD? Will I get everything? Because they are the same game...
Magic_Al
Gamefarter's question about TBOGT music crossing over was based on buying EFLC, not DLC. After reading the conflicting reports I believe this is the situation: If you buy DLC: you will be able to listen to the original radio stations from GTA IV in all three games. If music is added to the EXISTING stations by TLAD and TBOGT, you will hear the added music on those stations as Niko, Johnny, or Luis. If you buy EFLC: your GTA IV experience is completely separate from the Episodes (except for settings, TLAD and TBOGT saves, and gamerscore apparently). Music heard when you play one disc is not heard when you play the other. EFLC includes three new radio stations, Ramjam FM, Self-actualization FM, and Vice City FM. Of the new stations, Vice City FM is confirmed as exclusive to EFLC. It's unknown if the other two will be included in TBOGT DLC, but I bet not. Rag
Wow this is still going on, hopefully Rockstar would atleast issue a clarification. I have the Microsoft points page open and I'm wondering if I should add or just get the disc
Pizza is good
Hmm, wonder what "Ramjam FM" and "Self-Actualization FM" are about.
Algonquin Assassin
No big loss to me. I'm planning on buying the disc version, and Vice City FM will probably be the only station I'll listen to. I'm not a big fan of GTA IV's soundtrack, so I don't care either way. Aslong as I can listen to some 80s hits.

Or some other topic about the same subject... There's nothing to whine about. Just buy any version of the game you want, it's still the same game... And if you don't like it because it's not 100% the same then don't buy it at all. Gah.

kevaxe2k2
So, do you get the other two stations besides Vice if you download it? Or do you lose out on all 3?
jprow507
So, do you get the other two stations besides Vice if you download it? Or do you lose out on all 3? As far as I've heard you DO NOT get the three stations on the DLC. Can anyone confirm or deny this? EfLC DVD: if you install GTA IV game and EfLC DVD on HDD, we can listen ALL radios from any story (including GTA IV radios)?
CookPassBabtridge
^ The three new stations are not on the download version, which I found a bit sh*te. I would have happily swapped out 3 older stations for new

At least, I have GTA IV installed to the HDD and the old stations aren't showing up on EFLC. I can also confirm this. I know that EfLC is a standalone game, but I don't see why Rockstar couldn't have added some sort of compatibility mode for those who have GTA IV so that we would be able to access all the radio stations. Does anyone know if it would be possible in a future patch or is this unlikely?
Leo Colt
I can't see why not. It's able to detect settings and stuff. I can't imagine it's terribly hard to patch the game to check whether GTA IV is installed to the HDD and pull the stations off of that. But who knows?
