Install new cars

How do I install new downloaded cars??

 

And what tools to use for faster installation??

i use sparkiv its fast and easy u will have to run it as administrator if u use vista, and if u dont know how to use it watch this

SO I just use sparkiv and thats it car will be installed????

ya just click browse scroll all the way down click cdimages under models, double click vehicle.img and import ur downloaded car. thats it

What about carcols and other files,handling???

 

Do i need to edit them

Am i just able to replace cars in GTA4? Or can i install new cars so i get much more different cras in the whole game?

 

It would be really great if i could keep all the current normal standard game cars and add more and more to the game. This would make the game more realistic because there is not very much variaty in the default game.

Hi, I think u can , I tried it & It worked but i coused a bug for me

 

first let me tell you how:

1 - I added the wtf & wtd files with new name (ex: buffalo.wtf & buffalo.wtd) to the vehicles.img

2 - Wrote the vehicles.ide line with the new name in last line but for game name parameter (the second uppercase name) i used the name of a vehicle that was in game (ex: SULTANRS)

3 - Wrote handling.dat & carcols.dat with the new name I used (buffalo) in a new line

4 - Put my new name in cargrp.dat & lunched the game

 

as result the vehicle was in roads like others but there was a bug:

 

the free body armors in street were changed to sth that was not body armor

 

I dont know what is the relations but I will be greatful if someone knows.

thanks winterdamit, your posts were very helpful. I have a question though. If we modify a car, we can't play online as I am assuming unless we replace it with the original one again. But what if I play over lan with my buddy and we both havethe same cars modded?
