Way late on that one but that was one of the most boring fight cards I have bought. icon13.gif

Anyway the Silva-Weidman fight tonight should be a good one. Not going to lie I am pulling for Weidman for this one.

If Weidman were to win, it'd be ridiculously huge. Change the entire middleweight rankings -- everyone downsized by Silva will be getting re-matches almost immediately. Especially Belfort.

I still sense a 2nd or 3rd round TKO by Silva, though. And I hope so, cause I've got srs money riding on that outcome happy.gif don't get old and die on me now, Anderson.

One fight on this card that really bothers me is Mike Pierce vs. David Mitchell -- Pierce is so heavily underrated. Even if he steamrolls Mitchell, ain't nobody still gonna know who he is. cryani.gif

Silva was playing around and he paid for it. I want a rematch but without Silva doing his stupid dance during the fight.

It serves him right. His arrogance was eventually gonna catch up with him. A fight without Silva doing his dumb dance at some point is probably not going to happen. Whenever he feels he is winning, he acts like an idiot.

I can't help but think Silva is just completely bored...tired...mentally exhausted...what, maybe all of 'em. The fight went exactly as I figured it would (until the KO) -- Weidman looked exhausted and sloppy by the end of the first round, but Silva failed to capitalize and that's all she wrote. Another minute or so and who knows, could've ended up being another Sonnen/Bonnar/Okami-type finish. Silva well and truly is a master troll, either way.

I dont get why Anderson signed a 10 fight deal with the UFC and the theory is that he wanted to lose because he was tired of defending the belt, does he only wanna do fights for fun now? does he have a list of fights that he wants to do? as ufc champion, you dont really get to pick and choose your opponent. Another factor that could play is that Anderson was the key link for the super fights, he could have fought GSP or Jon Jones and He was calling out Roy Jones Jr. It's the people that are really good that lose interest fast.

First of all, I think it's great that when Silva showboats and wins he's the GOAT, but when he showboats and loses everyone thinks he's a bum. This isn't a shot at any of you who are commenting in this thread; this is just what I've seen from so many people all over the internet. People are disgusted with Silva now, but when he plays his games and wins they love it.

I genuinely believe Silva is just exhausted. He's been dominating for seven years now with sixteen straight victories in the UFC, and he's 38 years old now. That's a very long time, and you have to figure that the UFC is basically controlling his life for the most part during that time. The UFC controls when he fights which also determines when he'll be training. That also determines when he'll have time to visit his family, so spending time with his family has basically been in the UFC's hands for the last seven years.

Have any of you watched the Like Water documentary? It's on Netflix right now here in the US. It was all recorded around the time Anderson was preparing for his first fight against Chael Sonnen, and even back then you can see how unhappy Anderson is that he never gets to spend any time with his family.

Personally I thought Anderson looked relieved to have lost against Weidman. He seemed relieved to have the pressure off his back.

As close as the first fight between Bendo/Pettis was, I can see Bendo taking the re-match. I think overall he's improved more than Pettis in the time spent transitioning from WEC to UFC, and I think he gets it done with his ability to mix it up this time -- keep Pettis guessing.

Whole lot of interesting fights coming up. MacDonald vs. Ellenberger is huge. Can't wait for that fight.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm kind of expecting the fight to turn out exactly as you described. I'm just hoping that isn't the case because I'm not much of a Bendo fan.

I completely agree about MacDonald/Ellenberger as well. I'm as hyped for that as I am for any other upcoming fight.
