darthYENIK
I finally got around to watching the ultimate finale. The feather weight final was only one round, but that one round was better than most five round championship bouts. One guy would stagger the other, and then vice versa. And that arm bar busted his arm before it was even locked in. All in all, this season's TUF, has been good. Too bad Mayhem looked completely unprepared. He barely lasted a round before he was begging Bisping to knock him out. I had a feeling Bisping would win, but I thought Mayhem would be able to go at least three rounds. Bisping won, but Mayhem beat himself. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/429257-official-mma-topic/page/3/#findComment-1060929066 Share on other sites

(Even if he tapped a little early to be honest, I mean he didn't even hyper-extend that arm to something stupid ala Mir/Nog...) I agree with you though Darth good season all around, but like yourself I was a little dissapointed in Mayhem, I know his striking has never been perfect, but he never really tried to take the fight to the ground, and he said that it was "nerves and adrenaline" that saw him gassed in less than five minutes...Nope, again like you mentioned he was simply unprepared, but to give him his dues, I've never been Bisping's biggest fan, but he has drastically improved recently and I'll now be looking forward to his next fight. Mav.
I dislike them both. However Jones should win this comfortably. He's an amazing athlete and even though Rashad matches up well against larger opponents, he's no match. JoeyLeone25
At the moment Rashad is the only one that can challenge Jon Jones, but the only way I see him losing is through being knocked out (Macheda showed that his chin can be rattled). Yet, in my opinion, Rashad no longer posseses the knock-out power he once had and while he dominated Davis, he never looked like finishing the fight. This fight will come down to the wrestling and while Evans is the better wrestler, Jones is the stronger wrestler and that'll be telling come the end of the twenty-five minutes. Grandal.
I stopped watching a year or two back but man, I hope Anderson destroys Sonnen and shuts him up. It is a shame Chael is such a douchebag because their first fight was so good and he really did give Anderson a good battle. I don't believe he will do the same this time, he ran his mouth way to much and awoke the old school Anderson. Tito and Forrest should be good, I remember their first fight and Tito accusing Griffin of covering himself in Vaseline. I don't give a f*ck if he did, made for one of the best battles I have seen . luongo01
Big fight title fight tonight St-Pierre vs Condit anyone else going to be watching this? Yeah, I'm going to be watching this one for sure. The UFC has hyped up a lot of GSP's opponents in the past, but Condit looks like the real deal. He's looked real good in his past fights. Let's see how GSP handles this one. Also heard Dana White say that if GSP wins, he'll fight Silva in May in Toronto, Cowboy Stadium, or a Brazilian soccer stadium. Who's watching it... what are your predictions I think GSP wins in either the third round via submission or by decision I'm pretty inclined to say GSP via decision. GSP is going to be rusty and Condit is pretty damn good. Also, a lot of GSP's fights have been going to the judges lately. But I'm gonna say GSP takes it in the second round via submission. Yeah, looking forward to that fight as well. But I'm not so sure that the winner of that fight will face GSP if he wins. I think GSP will fight Silva. Maybe Nick( or is it Nate)? Diaz because he called out GSP in the past. However if Condit does win, I still don't think Kampann or Hendricks will get the title shot. It will likely be a rematch between GSP and Condit because GSP deserves a rematch after the ring rust and holding the title for so long- plus it would bring a lot of ratings. Pretty damn excited to see GSP back in the cage tonight. luongo01
What a fight. Condit really gave GSP a tough time. I thought GSP was gone after that kick in the 3rd round, but the champ found a way. John The Grudge
I would like to see Johnny Hendricks fight Nick Diaz for a title shot. If Nick Diaz is still in the UFC picture it'd be crazy for Hendricks to get a title shot without facing him, especially given that people are generally split on the judges' decision on the Condit vs Diaz fight. The timing would work out well if the UFC go ahead (and it looks like they will) with the GSP vs Anderson Silva fight in the spring. The two fights could even be on the same card and the subsequent welterweight title fight could happen later in 2013. On the topic of that fight. I don't fancy GSP's chances much. Sonnen gave Silva some trouble, took him down seemingly at will and landed some strikes. I'd say that GSP is more gifted a striker and at least as good at take downs and controlling the position from the top. GSP is much shorter than Silva though, so striking and landing punches and elbows from Silva's guard will be very difficult for him. Silva will probably use a jab and his reach to control the fight. Other WW matches I'd like to see are Ellenberger vs the winner of Fitch and Maia (maybe for the next title shot after Hendricks or Diaz) or if he can't wait then maybe Koscheck. Further down the line I'd love to see Condit vs Kampmann. What's likely to happen though is that Hendricks will get the next shot and Fitch or Maia after that. Ellenberger will probably be in some kind of limbo unless Nick Diaz comes back. The GSP Silva fight really screws up the division for 2013. Condit is still a young-ish fighter (in his late 20s) and has a lot of promise, but that's only when he fights 'properly'. He took the wrong gameplan against Diaz. While it won him the fight, it lost him A LOT of fans. Yet the way he fought against GSP (aggressive, controlling, good striking) won him some of those fans back. If he manages to keep fighting like he did against GSP then yes I'd like to see him or others become the new Welterweight champ, because like you said there's nothing exciting about 10+ championship defenses. Dana and Silva want GSP to fight Silva. The fight against Condit had no bearing on that. I'm not precious when it comes to champs. I just want the best fighters to get their shot. That GSP has remained champ in such a tough division is testament to how good he is. Deffpony
i'm real confident Benson Henderson is gonna defend his title against Nate Diaz this weekend, thoughts? IMO the Diaz brothers will never be champions. They are great fighters but they just don't seem to be smart fighters. They are exciting and aggressive fighters. Anyways, am I the only one pissed that Johnny Hendricks is getting overlooked for his title shot Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/429257-official-mma-topic/page/3/#findComment-1062047458 Share on other sites
johnson.
Well seeing as how controversial the Diaz & Condit interim title fight was it seems only right that Diaz gets a shot at GSP before Hendricks. Sometimes you just have an off-night or completely get shut down, or generally just f*ck up. I train and fight, and I had a fight and we spent weeks drilling a game plan, and the second I got hit hard, it all went out the window entirely. Sometimes, sh*t just f*cks up. Especially when you start to get tired -- Dos Santos got absolutely exhausted a few minutes in. I've been thinking about getting into MMA once I get a little more active. Nah, no videos. I managed to snag a picture of myself head kicking a guy off a website last year though. That was kinda cool. I lost a unanimous decision, though. I'm not big by any means. Get to train with a few champs but they're on a higher level than me, and I'm pretty lazy. Got my blue belt in BJJ and haven't done much since. Trying to save money so I can train full time, y'know. So I figured I'd work hard for a few months, then I could train solid for a good year or two and try make something of it. Back on topic though, his arms were probably completely tanked and full of blood. I don't think JDS has ever been pushed that hard before, and it just completely gassed him out. His mind was probably blank, and cause he's such a good boxer, when he gets tired in the gym he probably drops his hands and uses head movement and snaps a jab up until he's recovered. But the daunting task of trying to survive, not completely die due to fatigue and keep the hands up all at the same time was probably too much for him. Just got done watching the SF fights. Mardquart suffered the most brutal leg kicks I've seen in MMA. Shiiiit his leg is gonna be done for a long while. Never seen a leg look that messed up.
