Where is stored the collision data of the buildings?

Collision data is inside the WBN/WBD files.

I made those models a long time ago, I know the normals are f*cked up and the textures are bad. But you wanted screens so tounge.gif

Nope atm I am still only able to create boxes and planes etc. Think I've found some interesting stuff in the wbd/wbn files to give it real cols.

even we cant add new objects ore so .. we can always use the standart things from the Game self...

 

Put some Skyscraper into the water and u have a concrete flat place where you can build with some little stuff many cool thinks biggrin.gif

 

One Request i have:

 

It is not imposible to create Ped Spawningpoints?

woult be cool to add "spawningpoint for Roman" in some safehouses to add some more "Home-feeling"

Ped spawningpoints are defined inside the mission script, so that's a no go for now wink.gif

 

@JKM, good idea, I'll do that when I've got some spare time.

Hey I know it's a lot of work, but can you make the map editor like Valve's Hammer? So the basic idea is to create your own boxes (meshes), and give them any texture you want (and ofcourse you can move the texture in position). I just don't get R* why they can't support the modding community like valve does...

Anyway I just can't wait to make new cities biggrin.gif

That would be a lot of work, it's just as easy to import a file from max or any other modeler. Or am I completely wrong? tounge.gif

Well yeah, cuz 3ds is one hell of a non-userfriendly program. I even found it hard to create a freaking box. Anyway a pathetic idea came through my mind, how about making Hammer compatible with GTA IV? XD Nah really don't take this as a serious question...

I didn't do anything in the SA era (didn't know anything about file formats, 3d rendering and that sort of stuff tounge.gif). I know steve-m made a map viewer and MEd (the SA Map editor) was created by TonyWob or something.

Actually I think 3ds is the easiest of all modelling programs. I couldn't do anything with Zmodeler. Didn't try sketchup or google's modeller (if that's sketchup, then nevermind), but anyway this map editor is still going to be kickass, if it's going to be like the map editor for SA. I just can't wait to make very very long tunnel biggrin.gif

lol hammer. ugh... what a horrible "keep the people from knowing the truth about game development" lie of a program... Since when is vertex editing called "Warp" - oh, ever since Microsoft Valve (know your history, people!!) got a hold of it with hammer.

I like what you did so far.

 

Here's a nooby question maybe, tounge.gif will you be able to save the new objects you add to the map and be able to play with them in MP once the tool is finished, or will the map only work on SP?

To be honest I haven't tested that yet. I hope it doesn't work, but I doubt it. But all people in the server will need to have the same map installed or you'll be the only one that's able to see the changes.

Prince, if there is going to be a betatest in private or public, please PM, I will want to join too ! smile.gif

Also, would be cool if you will implement an GTA IV Main Script Editor like Sanny Builder was for SA.

Because if I will like to delete the whole map the game would crash because wants to load the first mission.So with a GTA IV Script Editor we would make the game playable on a completly new map,change the spawn location when you start the game,make new savehouses and script new missions that you can play on that map.I know it's HARD to do this but you're THE BEST tool maker for IV ! So if you will start to make it,make it after the first version,for now just release it !
