There wasn't even a tow truck.

At least we weren't being taunted then.

But adding it in TLaD.

I mean.

Well.. there must be a reason behind this. Otherwise they'd include this feature in TBoGT... since it's more of a San Andreas-Vice City mash up.

Look we are talking about a business here , Rockstar doesn't care how will the fans enjoy the game IMO all they want is to get money out of people , and ofcourse they know tha people will be crazy to buy BOGT so it's their part of the job/deal Microsoft paid for. That's all i have to say really.

whats the need for this post really ? who needs anything depressing about the game when theres so much amazing about it. pointing out things we cant do whats the point if we cant do em. post something about things we can do

thats the thing, theres not a whole lot we CAN do, we are givin things we THINK we can do, but we CANT

how do we know tho about certain things we dont until we get to play it, so someone saying the APC isnt always available or w/e they cant say it when we havent played the game

Look behind the buzzard. There's a noose APC behind it surrounded by noose enforcers. How did it get there? Luis couldn't bring both the buzzard and noose apc to the same spot could he?

 

So this confirms my point.

 

A. Noose will take you down with the NAPC at 6stars

B. It can be used outside of missions in freeroam mode.

C. All new vehicles will have cheats to spawn them.

Rockstar always seems to flash all the good things infront of us, and then lock them to the point where we can't find them.

 

I honestly want a reason to WHY they only allowed the Regina to show up in one mission, never to be seen again. I hope that in BoGT they will put it in the streets for us to find. That would be nice.

 

 

Then again, it's probably a case of 'you want what you can't have'. I mean.. it IS just a beat up old grandma car. But damnit.. it's MY beat up old grandma car!

I'm really confused as to why they can't apply a simple hook to the truck, trailers, and tow truck.

I mean.

R* KNOWS people will want to attatch and tow sh*t.

What possible reason do they have, any possible valid reason, to pull away some of the most fun things we did in San Andreas?

probably to do with the physics or damage engine screwing up when they first attempted it.

and as fot the whole tow truck thing on the tlad vehicle page i just think that was a big cock up

 

on topic though, i reckon we wont be able to fly planes no matter what people think from the new trailer. and i still have a hunch that parachutes wont be free to use whenever.

What do you mean by cook up?, the way it reads whas like they confirmed it

rockstar confirmed that you can use the parachute whenever and if not maybe if you do all the basejumps it will spawn at your safehouse or something

On the subject of the tow truck, do you think it might have something to do with the inclusion of the Sky Crane in TBOGT? I don't know, it's a very very long shot but it's the only reason I can think of. Maybe they felt it would be redundant to have two vehicles that can tow things?

You are speculating; that is not proof. That screenshot alone cannot support any of those three claims. Point A I can possibly see as being proven by that single picture (even though that screenshot could have been taken during a mission, something that can't be confirmed), but there's no way points B and C are supported by that screenshot alone.

 

I honestly thought you would have a scan from a preview or something, not the same dumb speculation that I already dismissed in my post on the first page. Are you joking or what?

As for the APC, R* said in an interview that it would be available. They said:

 

"This APC doesn't have tank treads, but it packs just as much of a wallop as previous incarnations and should be an integral part of Luis' campaign, as well as multiplayer carnage. All of the new vehicles and weapons will be available for competitive matches."

 

Also in the same interview, they said that the parachute would spawn at your safehouse after completing the base-jumping side missions.

 

And one other thing -

 

"Airplanes are still not a part of this GTA experience..."

 

All of this is in the interview in the October Game Informer. It really doesn't matter if you don't want to believe it.

There's a difference between so-called "knowing" and "believing" and actually having proof, one way or another. It's as simple as that. Proof is what separates speculation and fact, and if you don't have valid and undeniable proof, it doesn't really matter what you think to be true.

 

edit because im not bumping this further: All I asked for was proof, and you failed to deliver. Don't blame the thread if your screenshot didn't prove anything.

Random thought: do you guys remember in San Andreas, how you could attach a tow truck to another one, over and over, and create a train of them? Remember how glitchy it was though? An even better example was the "slingshot" glitch of attaching a semi-with-trailer to a tractor, and having the whole thing get "thrown" the moment you went around a gentle curve.

 

Rockstar couldn't even quite get it perfected with San Andreas simple physics , how can you expect them to get it right with IVs complex physics and damage modeling?

Rockstar just seems to have a habit of half-baking ideas, which is frustrating. They tend to try something out for one game, but instead of improving on it next time round, they just drop it.

 

The tow truck was a marketing balls-up, and I agree that things like this should be patched. We are meant to be in the age of 'digital delivery' and all that sh*te after all. The semi trailers pissed me off the most, as I do like trucks. Surely they have got their heads around the physics by now?

 

Also having cars that get locked after a certain time is mental. As if we are supposed to know, for example Roman's taxi (the most detailed car in the game) will suddenly be rendered unobtainable if we dont save it from the start. Cant be starting the whole game again just to get it back.

 

As for TBOGT, the key to how much we can do, at least for me, is how accessible things are. I dont like this taking a friend along to do activities, its a pain. The golfing range is a welcome addition, but screw phoning friends and driving on a timer to go do it.

The car damage is calculated on-the-fly so it wouldn't be that hard as you've mentioned it. And still.. there IS a tow function coded in the game, and it's usable via scripting -.-

To be honest, i just cannot wait untill TBOGT, that way when threads like this come into hand, we don't need to get into virtual arguments with people who are probably on the other side of the world, when this game comes out, we will find the answers to all these questions/beliefs/rumours/ and facts.

 

APC: -With the whole APC thing, in my OPINION, i think it will be in the free roam portion of the game, maybe a 6 star wanted level gets this instead of the SWAT. But if not, then at least we still get the parachute after the basejumping missions, and to all those non-believers about the parachute, one of the achievements for TBOGT is to free fall for the longest possible time. That is sort of proof isn't it? along with the fact that rockstar claimed that you would get the parachute at the safehouse after you complete the base jumping missions.

 

 

TOWTRUCK: - With this whole tow truck jibbery joo, like KLLRDG said, it is like dangling a cookie in front of us and saying it is not for eating, and i think we would like to eat that cookie, but unfortunately, we can't. It would be a good feature for the towing, i know it would get boring after a while, but you might have those moods some day where you are so bored, you go and do the things you wouldn't normally do, (tow cars)

 

But anyway, we only have to wait about 2 and a half more weeks to find out about all these questions and theory's about this game. Oh and i believe R* stated that this is there last episode, and if that is the case (i'm not saying it's true), i hope this episode goes off with a BANG! lol.gif

When IV was released i defended R* over and over, and i'm a IV fanatic, in so much to have bought both the 360 and PS3 CE versions of the game.

 

I love the city they rendered that blows the covers off any other vitual world game ever created, and i loved the acting..the storyline, and how they improved upon the core of the GTAIII series, and added in a cover system, damage to some interior structures..ect, heck i love that FP taxi view as it feel like i'm back in NYC when taking a ride.(were i lived for 30 yrs)

 

However, R* left LC as a f'ing tease, lets be honest here. They did'nt take much advantage of the vertical possibilites of LC(as in say more rooftop shootouts..or rooftop chases, or elevators or more opeped up skyscrapers..ect), they did'nt take advantage of closed places that would have been a riot to just mess with, such as the 'fun fair', the chinatown arcade..ect

 

And look, many SA features were done poorly(ie..CJ could get fully built in only 5 days..lol), but many were very enjoyable, and if you include many features..heck add in as much as possible, you know every gamer will grow attached to certain features and get addicted to the games replay value.

 

And that is one of IV's 2 main faults(the other being that the missions lacked enough variety), was that, when the only things to do to eithier kill time in between missions or at the end of the game, is playing darts(uhh) or bowling or eating(eating..lol, but no conversation with friends while doing so? co'me on), was a damn chore to kep doing, were instead it should been an enjoyment.

 

Heck, to have one arcade machine and that's a puzzle game, is mindboggling.

 

You just cannot go from the huge ammount of features of SA to very few in IV, because your setting the bar so high in SA, that gamers are expecting most of the same in this next gen version.

 

Like i said i love R* and no game comes close to GTA:IV this generation for me, but i miss this feature set of SA, even if many of those features were done poorly.

 

This is why i'm so much more pumped up for TBOGT(<--which should have been the way IV was designed), because they are adding in at least a few features that are actually fun to do, and take advantage of LC's potential.

 

And i'm not just talking more features just to add in more action/replay value, but also more features during the missions to add to the storyline's replay value and online play.

 

For instance i love how in TBOGT, now you can have a shootout(or chase?) on top of a train, or how parachutes are implemented to make the mission(s) more exciting and action packed.

 

There is so much potential in LC that has yet to been taken advantage of, and from the trailers so far, TBOGT seems to be the first time R* will do so in this series.

 

I liked TLAD alot, but i'm getting a gut feeling i'm going to love TBOGT as it reminds me of VC/SA in terms of action/color pallette(VC)/flashy characters/mission variety..ect

 

And it seems this DLC will finally add some needed FUNN, as Bernie would say to Niko. wink.gif
