It sucks but that is the way of Rockstar they are the ones stupid enough to give the go ahead for the strategy guide to be released a whole damn week before the game. To be honest, I think it was BradyGames (the company that makes the strategy guides) that decided to publish the EFLC strategy guide a week before the games release. Because if you look at their other strategy guides, they've all been published a week or two before the games were actually released. If you think about it, it's actually a better business strategy to release a game guide before a game comes out. 1: More people will buy it, simply because they want to know more about the game then what's already available online, etc. 2. After the game comes out, most people will skip the indepth book and just find a guide online somewhere for free. I like that idea Charlie, but nothing is stopping them from creating a new account, so sadly it looks like the mods are gonna have to work overtime. And yeah, I'm pretty sure it Is Brady Games Guides, but they still have to listen to Rockstar when it comes to release dates, so Rockstar is still liable for any spoilers in a way. Well, except that we would find that new account and ban it and make the ban on the original account permanent as well. Just like we do with any temp ban evader. We're damned serious about this. This is a GTA fansite, and it is not in the best interest for GTA fans to have somebody who's read the Brady guide before the release get on here with the purpose of spoiling it for everybody else. My advice would be to refrain from posting any storyline-related information, either real or fake, and just wait until the release to see it like everyone else. In any case, yeah, we'll be working a bit of overtime, but we've got some new additions to the staff who will be helping out. We're doing it not to be all big, bad and cool because we like banning people, but because we're fans of the series who don't want to have our experience spoiled either. I think that would extend to all members here as well. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be." And although the mods are planning to remove them once they show up on this section, I'm likely gonna end up looking at them anyway if I stay on the forums. I enjoy reading the forum and would hate to stay away this close to release but it looks like that is what needs to happen. If Rockstar has a say on the strategy guide, I can't believe they are allowing this to happen. Was there a guide for TLAD and, if so, was it also released 1 week prior to the game's release? You were right people will spoil it so my advice for admins/mods of this forum is to close down BOGT section only(disable topic adding and posting replies) until the game is released , thats what i would do if i was mod/admin. But still I consider it as a similar to a souvenir program they sell in a theatre or an "official magazine" of a movie. Don't need it but it adds to the experience. But still Honestly, no one reads a strategy guide for help anymore. Kids read them for the pictures, and guys on forums like us usally read them for the spoilers they can talk about on the forums, or with some of their friends in real life.
