Isn't This proof that Islam is God's religeon?

My point is this: I understand Israel needs an army, but a few religious folk not joining up will NOT break down the army and will NOT break down the country. You're worrying too much. Conscientious objectors won't really make good soldiers anyway.

There are more and more religious people who dont serv AND TAKE OUR MONEY, so we will be lost 10 years from now, by the statistics.

Why don't you ask why in some places seals have to cross narrow streams of shark infested warm water in the open ocean?

Its nothing to do with any God, different types of water don't mix together because of the difference in density.

This.

Was mentioned in the Quran when science wasn't around, and humans cannot see the difference, So thats one other theory, Not total proof but a theory that Allah God just exists.

Allah just means god for all you people who think god and allah are different dozingoff.gif

The Middle East at that time was a patch work of attack and counter-attack. Byzantine would counter-attack ever 10 years anyway, it was almost like clock work. The lands on either side hardly remained in the same hands for long.

I am glad someone here has a deeper appreciation of the history of the region. Anyway, about your above comment, the thing is, it still is today - a battleground between Eastern and Western Civilisation.

The spiritual successors of the Byzantine empire, the US and NATO, repping the west-side, and the spiritual successors of the Persians, the Iranians, taking on a similar role in fighting the West over control of the region.

Arguably it was always like that except for a short time at the beginning of the Golden Age of the region where for once it was solely controlled by it's inhabitants, and the region flourished in every dimension. But that itself was very short-lived - the East took control and the whole sh*t of being used by one side or another for proxy wars, or foriegn armies running amock fighting each other directly started all over again.

when Islam was founded this was no different, except for the fact the Arabs where more determined due to the strong religious beliefs.

No, the actual reason Arabs succeeded and so quickly was due to unity created at the time (inter-religious a lot of the time as Christian and Jewish Arabs also joined in). Before we were used to fight for either the Persians or the Western Civilisations (Greek and later Roman) in their proxy wars, similar to how Jaish Al Mahdi and Hizbollah is today fighting for Iran/"The East", while the Awakening Councils (ex-insurgents), Saudi government and others are fighting on the side of the US/"The West".

When all Arab united - because of Islam, and more so the politics of unity created - they were able to use all their previous expertise in fighting for one civilisation or another, aswell as everything the Persian/Roman and Greek armies taught us in fighting against them.

Also, unlike today soldiers weren't posted everywhere, so attacks and counter attacks were common and straight forward unless the army was still there (rare if they aren't advancing) or if fort or castles are but to defend it.

Active mobilised soldiers have only been placed in the ME since the 2003 Iraq war, which is a tiny amount of time compared to the modern history of Western/Eastern influence over the region. Most work is done by their indiginous Arab minions in the region, and soon it will go back that way after the US retreat - that is ignoring all the Iranian agents already crawling all over the place right now.

You should see how trite that reads from my computer chair, Sanjeem. It's unfortunate how the religious person, while often sophisticated on many different levels, seems to suspend good use of their thinking skills when the subject of their religious beliefs is at hand.

In my favorite Bible verse, which I often reference, Nietzsche explains this terrible symptom:

In some remote corner of the universe, poured out and glittering in innumerable solar systems, there once was a star on which clever animals invented knowledge. That was the highest and most mendacious minute of "world history"—yet only a minute. After nature had drawn a few breaths the star grew cold, and the clever animals had to die.

One might invent such a fable and still not have illustrated sufficiently how wretched, how shadowy and flighty, how aimless and arbitrary, the human intellect appears in nature. There have been eternities when it did not exist; and when it is done for again, nothing will have happened. For this intellect has no further mission that would lead beyond human life. It is human, rather, and only its owner and producer gives it such importance, as if the world pivoted around it. But if we could communicate with the mosquito, then we would learn that he floats through the air with the same self-importance, feeling within itself the flying center of the world. There is nothing in nature so despicable or insignificant that it cannot immediately be blown up like a bag by a slight breath of this power of knowledge; and just as every porter wants an admirer, the proudest human being, the philosopher, thinks that he sees on the eyes of the universe telescopically focused from all sides on his actions and thoughts.

It is strange that this should be the effect of the intellect, for after all it was given only as an aid to the most unfortunate, most delicate, most evanescent beings in order to hold them for a minute in existence, from which otherwise, without this gift, they would have every reason to flee as quickly as Lessing's son. [in a famous letter to Johann Joachim Eschenburg (December 31, 1778), Lessing relates the death of his infant son, who "understood the world so well that he left it at the first opportunity."] That haughtiness which goes with knowledge and feeling, which shrouds the eyes and senses of man in a blinding fog, therefore deceives him about the value of existence by carrying in itself the most flattering evaluation of knowledge itself. Its most universal effect is deception; but even its most particular effects have something of the same character.

You see me, Nietzsche did more for me in three paragraphs than 18 years of church every Sunday did, and without supernatural force, with only reason. Three paragraphs which contain more truth than every holy book combined I'm sure. I am no expert on the Qur'an, but I suspect it contains about the same amount of muck the Christian Bible does, I get the gist of it.

This is just what I believe, Sanjeem, maybe you have ideas now of how mad and blind I am. If you've bothered to read, I'm sure you have a possible retort in mind--this is understandable. What I offer is only a belief as well, and that's really all the rest of the seven billion of us have to offer either--ideas, abstract thought, concepts, "stances". Who am I to be so sure of myself? And you?

The question you must ask yourself, Sanjeem, is do you really want to be tethered to a book based on an oral tradition that has it's roots in the 600s (a time when heliocentrism and even considering germ theory were a full 1000 years away)? Do you want your thinking, your sharpness of logic, to fall accident to something that archaic and mystic? Despite your conditioning into the belief that you need this old and dying God, and it is old and it is dying, you don't, Samjeem. You can think without him (let's face it, you mostly behave without him anyway, right?), you can live without him, and you can die without him. You can welcome yourself into the exciting openness and possibility of moral relativism. You can be whoever you want to be, not feel the guilt and pressure than I'm sure you do when you fail at living up to impossible standards that do nothing but hinder you anyway.

However, for some this is impossible. My mother is 61, I don't present conversion to atheism as viable to her lifestyle, she is settled in. But you aren't 61, Sanjeem, I imagine that you are young as I am. How grateful am I that I am not carrying around the luggage of the Abrahamic God.

Thankyou for offering a beleif Candarelli.

I really Hope this topic, Doesn't give me a bad rep, Like i said i'm not shoving it down your throats i am sharing a belief.

I have always beleived in a God. My parents arn't really christians to be honest, although they do call themselves christians.

Christianity never made much sense to me. After reading about Islam, everything in the quran relates to todays life and to my beleifs. Their is also so much proof that Allah exists. If you studied the quran like i am doing now, you can see how Islam and Science in some senses combine.

I'm not trying to convert anyone, But just to tell them, my belief, religeon also helps me alot. When i was a christian, i once tried a whole month without any religeouse activity, sure i felt Free-er, But i felt like a big chunk in my life was missing. You cannot proove that God exists...Although their are suggestions, But you cannot proove for Sure that their is something/someone up their. Like a designer. Like we design drawings, games, Allah may have designed us, and thats what i truly beleive.

Peace to all.

I can't understand how you can say that with a straight face while you are wearing that signature. Personally, I find it a little bit much, and I do feel like you're trying to force it down people's throats.

Only Allah can guide me? I'm doing a pretty good job on my own, thanks.

Also: 'religion'; 'breeding'; 'maybe'. If it's that important to you, at least proofread it.

I don't know, I have to somewhat agree with his sig. I mean on the one hand, I disagree with his whole "only my God can guide you" crap.

On the other hand, Muslims do taste great, regardless of breading.

I always thought they shunned breading in favour of battering. At least for the women, that is.

Allah can guide you if you are willing. If you are not then i suppose he won't.

The Sig is not to much, It's expressing how i feel, and what i beleive is the truth, Personally no Muslim that i know would call me Extreme, They would be pleased that i am trying to spread the word of God, I may seem extreme to you guys, But for other muslims around the world, i am just ordinary person.

Also did i tell you im not infact muslim yet, so anybody calling me biased to my own religeon is wrong, I will convert in three years time, until then i do pray 5 times a day to God but not the Muslim way. I am still practising the Salah, and i try not to eat pork, and i don't drink that much alcohol anyway as i'm still only 15.

Oh yeah and, It stated nowhere in the Qu'ran that we should stone the victims of rape, That is more of a tradition in Some Countries. Compare rapes in england to some of those countries, England has much more Rape. Also some women cry out rape when they are lying, and the man gets punished whilst the woman lies and get of easilly. I still think stoning is wrong, But i can see now why they must have 4 witnesses. But yeah i agree stoning is over the top. Whipping is a better solution, But still quite...Painfull and cruel, but it keeps countries in strict and good order.

I request a Lock for this topic, It is for the better, incase of disrespectfull posts and arguments, Thanks for your views on God, Beleif, and thanks for your contribution to beleifs, But it's better that this topic gets Locked, Thankyou and Goodnight
