Personally, I'd say there are lots of more game protagonist that we like better. So, We will go all out on a single poll. None of this tournament sh*t! How is it going to go down? Well, you have two weeks to post the names you wanna see in the poll.(It has to be either accepted by me or be seconded). At the end of the suggestion round, the poll begins.(hopefully if the GTAF staff agree) Do you have more than one fav? Suggest em all! can't seem to make up your mind? No problem, We'll let ya pick every single choice up for the contest! Thats right multiple choices people! Any Format is cool but just try to add the name of the game/series that the character belongs to. Even pictures are welcomed Now, lets kick it!!! UPDATE Please note that some candidates who have been suggested may not be taken into consideration for the actual poll. I regret to say this, but that is what could happen if we have too many candidates.(That could mean bye bye not so famous characters!!!) As his actions in-game are largely based on what the player does while in-game. He could still have been included as most of what happened in Fallout 1 was recorded as canon in the Fallout Bible and the Fallout 2 Manual. This however cannot be said for the Chosen One (Fallout 2) or the Lone Wanderer (Fallout 3) as their official actions haven't been officially confirmed in any way. The DoomGuy from (you guessed it) Doom. Although the creators of Doom say that the DoomGuy is meant to be the person playing, but in-game, he could still be counted as his actions still mean something within the series (like with Gordon Freeman for example), the only thing missing is an official name, though the Doom Novels suggest his name is Flynn Taggart, so that might be something to go on. He would also have made a good rival for Duke Nukem if both of them met up. Caleb from Blood. Yet another one of my favourite classic FPS heroes (the others being DoomGuy and Duke Nukem). I probably like him the most from the 3, his witty jokes and references to the pop culture of the time (much like Duke Nukem) were great and the game itself is very fun to play (provided you know how to use DOSBox). As I'm a big fan of older games and enjoy them a lot more than the games today, Blood is so gory (that's what makes it fun) and I don't think they'd be able to pull it off with the ESRB ratings today. But you guys like Gordon Freeman and Vault boy. They aren't characters. They are more like avatars. What happened to real characters like Kratos, Snake, Toomy V etc. Those are characters. Also, I explained some exceptions in my other post above. And I don't see what's wrong with Anti-Heroes really, Kratos and Niko should be classified as Anti-Heroes yet they made it into the Gamespot one. Nobody could have predicted that he literally break the fourth wall using his game altering bug powers. One time my controller was 100% unresponsive playing that game! Custer - Man did this guy have a large penis (literally!). He was very brave in overcoming the flying spears that came from the sky. Then at the end of his travels, he was able to rape a Native American woman tied to a cactus! What could be more epic then that? E.T. - Damn this alien really is undeniably one of the greatest video game characters of all time! Firstly he went through hell trying to navigate from extremely confusing levels! Secondly every time he fell in to a well, E.T. never gave up and starting slowly floating out to head towards his ultimate goal! Last but not least, the emotional development that E.T. had expressed through out the whole game. ● I cried when E.T. picked up a piece of the telephone. ● I cried when E.T. was being chased by purple skinned doctors. ● I cried when E.T. left on his spaceship. I shed tears of joy every time E.T. found one piece of the telephone, as I always hoped that he would be able to contact his alien friends and escape. I felt sad when purple skinned doctors chased after E.T., as a character this realistic should be able to escape to go home. Then at the end I felt very happy for E.T. in the final realistically planned out cutscene, realizing at last that E.T. would finally be home. Halo 2 was one of my favourite games ever, and the almost mute hero who's just doing his job sprang straightto mind when I saw this.
