Chewie
One day I came home from school and my appearance switched to classic view. It's really weird because I never changed it. It looks like this. Sorry about my big picture! What should I do, I think I have a virus? Edited September 29, 2009 by kamuran
XAF226
Possibly. The same thing happened to me on Windows 7 a few days ago. I switched it back and nothing really happened. Although it could be a graphics driver problem.
Star-Lord
Try switching back to normal view/ Vista Theme. Right-click on your desktop background and select choose theme from the choices select Vista.

Girish
Awesome page stretch. Right-click on your desktop > Properties > Appearance. You should be able to change back to the XP theme from here.

Right-click My Computer, click properties, advanced, performance settings, either "let windows choose" or "best appearance" should work.
Chewie
Nope, that didn't work =[ The weird thing is that my Mom, sister and Dad's appearances are fine. Could this be some kind of a virus?
Star-Lord
First can you please edit your post so that the screenie, doesn't stretch out he page? Please! I'm not sure? But if the suggestions provided in the above posts haven't resolve your problem? Then it's a more severe matter. I want you to go here,C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna since you pointed out that you are on XP. And make sure you have the 'luna and Shell file and folder in there. If they are missing you'll have to replace them by extracting them from a CD or just PM me If you don't have CD. You can even download Microsoft's Official Royale Theme and rename Folder to luna HERE and it will work just as good and you'll get a sexier looking theme while you are at it. If you do this and it still won't change? Then you have to make sure that Fast User Switching is not disabled. This can cause themes to not work in some cases. And you also will need to make sure that the theme service is set to automatic and not manual or disabled HERE. Just scroll down to where it saids 'Themes' This is a great guide that goes knees deep into XP's services, giving you a better understanding of the do's and don'ts when configuring your system when disabling-enabling some of these services. Chewie
C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna I went to that and opened it and then it let me fix it! Thank you so much, now I just need to figure out, how did it change to classic?
Girish
Thank you so much, now I just need to figure out, how did it change to classic? It can happen due to some applications disabling the current theme and then being unable to switch back to the previous theme, thereby, getting you stuck with the classic theme. It happens to me in Vista too. But, generally, the theme changes back to what it was after a few seconds of closing the application or it might take a simple restart to fix it. Chewie
Just keep it an eye on what application is opened/running when this happens again. Well, I came home from school and it was like that. The computer was off and I think that my Dad must of did something to it but he has his own account. So it's still a mystery.
