why you calling latinking an ideot, in this case maybe he didnt know about the spoilers, he is new, and i aint gonna use spoilers either, their problem they not complete the game, i mean how long will it take them to complete a freaking game, 3 days? thats maximum in my opinion. Plus they shouldnt come here if they didnt complete the game yet.

When you sign up for any game forum, you risk getting spoiled. I was spoiled, and I still eat and sh*t up to this day. Life goes on. I do agree with spoiler tags, however, I don't care if someone gets spoiled, because they signed up for the chance of getting their story spoiled in the first place.

 

@Tarnell, I didn't say specifically Latinking. I meant people who spoil for recent games like The Lost and Damned.

Alot of people go on forums like this to get help with the game, and to talk to others who are playing it.

Nice punishment. I normally give them some sort of cool death if they beat me at pool. E.g the swing of death.

Goodness, old topic, but wow. Why would anyone give energy into fighting the spoiler tags? It takes 10 extra seconds & it's polite. If you are like some people & say "well it's their fault they should have finished it!" then that my darling makes you a bit self centered & a little childish. This place is, in my opinion, the best place to go when you are stuck & need help. If you cannot possibly believe that some people like to ask for help while playing, then I'm sorry for you & your lack of thought. Not everyone plays the same way, & that's okay! *someone* whined that it only takes 3 days to beat it so they shud wait till then to be on here. Lol, not everyone plays the game nonstop. Some don't have the time. Some people like to savor the game. The GTA series is, after all, an awesome series & I like to take my time with games of this scope. Some people just got interested in the series- when V came out, I know some people tried it, liked it, & decided to play the previous games.

 

I like comradery & social etiquette, so I do spoilers. I actually am playing IV right now, & haven't finished it yet- it's literally on pause- I was trying to figure out if I can take a buddy to play pool at my safehouse, even tho I don't see the pool symbol. I have been using this forum a lot AS I play, because I like asking things & looking up stuff as I see it. EX:

When Roman's cab business gets burned (burnt?) down, I looked up if you could somehow get inside the boarded up building. Same with the apartment. I was driving, saw the business boarded up, paused the game & looked it up. It makes the game much more fun and interactive for me.

 

 

I do realize that some peeps will let some things slip, but it can really be avoided with a tiny amount of effort. I know I'd really appreciate it, as I'm sure others do too, since it is on the forum rules after all.

 

I just wanted to add perspective of someone who does come here but hasn't finished the game yet, as I'm sure others will stumble upon this topic in the future like me (☞ﾟ∀ﾟ)☞ Thank you for your time & consideration!

The spoiler tags are there but they're an older version. If you hover the mouse cursor over the very first sentence in the OP, it will turn into a black bar covering the text - that was the original spoiler tag. When the forum updated, the old spoiler tags broke and were replaced with new ones which is an expanding box. If the tags were used prior to the forum update, they did remain but ended up in a glitchy state as can be seen in the OP.

 

Since the game is 8 years old, there will be less attention put in hiding spoilers so the best thing to do would be avoiding to look anything up in regards to story-related elements or rewards. Reading very old threads is not a great idea, either.

 

If you are having a question about the game, but don't want to be spoiled, creating a new thread instead would be the best choice.

 

Since this is an old topic, I will lock this (will also change the title to warn other new players).
