So after you kill playboy x, you get his safehouse, it has a pool table in it, can you play it? I think i saw someone saying they did a long time ago. monocle.gif

Yeah, you can play with a friend or girlfriend. I lost Kiki by "accidentally" pushing her off the busted fire escape afterward. ph34r.gif

Nice job with the spoiler tags OP. Keep it up. (Glad I beat the game already)

And yeah, you can play pool with a friend/girlfriend.

If you haven't completed GTA IV by now and you're on this forum, you deserve to get spoiled for being so stupid. Avoid certain forums so you won't be spoiled.

And yes, ask a friend/girl on a date and take her to Playboy's safehouse upstairs to play pool.

Safehouse pool is a little glitchy compared to the Homebrew Cafe. The balls seem more likely to go off the table and there is more weirdness when the game tries to render the characters taking their shots. Actually some of the same problems at the clubhouse in TLAD, so maybe Homebrew is the exception. Still, it's nice to be able have a date at your own place.

Still, as a courtesy to newer members and those new to the game, please use spoiler tags because it's not unreasonable to expect someone who's recently bought the game might come here looking for help and could perhaps have the story ruined by inconsiderate members.

So please use the spoiler tags, as follows, whenever neccessary:

Again, only idiots walk into threads before completing the game. Sure, ask questions on how to pass an easy ass mission, but don't expect to not get spoiled when you click a thread. I just laugh but get annoyed when people say spoiler tags when this is late 2009, the game came out early 2008. There's google for help, even a strategy guide for 5 dollars.

Well if spoilers are such a big deal than why is it you see sigs with Daniel Brown's artwork showing Dimitri being killed and yet it's okay to have? So not only is it a Spoiler it's a spoiler when ever he posts about anything suicidal.gif .

I've noticed that too, Tho you can do trick shots.

I mange to get the ball to role on the edge and down the corner hole. pure luck.

1. I already know how to use spoiler tags.

2. It's not my problem if some kid gets the game ruined for him.

Not necessarily. Spoiler tags are there for a reason. At the very least you could have noted that there were spoilers in the topic title. It doesn't matter how long the game has been out, there are still people who haven't beaten it. For myself, I beat it long ago, but you're still out of line.

Some people didn't have the luxury of owning either a PS3 or 360 at the time of GTA IV's release you brain dead f*ckstain.

How is playing pool in a safehouse a spoiler? And if you're unfortunate that you have the game this late, then maybe you shouldn't be on the forums then until you complete the game.

To be fair... this has nothing to do with me, but if the person has only started playing IV, then why the hell is he clicking topics on playing Pool in a safehouse, it's bound to have spoilers inside. Some topic titles have names like "Should I kill Dwayne or PBX?" But no, they never get told off for it. If the person is dumb enough to even click on a topic before he/she has completed IV, then they deserve to get spoiled. Yeah, if they wanna ask a question on how to complete a mission etc, then that's fine. But honestly.. come on, if they click a topic that has a slight chance to have spoilers in, then the likelyhood is that it will have spoilers in.

Could you use spoiler tags like this see Others don't want the story wasted for them.

It has been over a year if they don't want spoilers they shouldn't really be on a forum dedicated to it.

Anyway you can't alone.

Because in his first sentence he says "after you kill Playboy X"...how is that not a spoiler?

And the topic title isn't "Playing pool in a safehouse" It's "Pool in the safehouse", which could indicate that there is a swimming pool in a safehouse to anyone who has no idea, thus that would be no spoiler indicator at all.

And to buffalosoulj4h20: If you read my post, you would see that I already beat the game long ago, about a week after it came out as a matter of fact, but of course you wouldn't see that because you chose not to. Playing pool in a safehouse isn't the spoiler, it's what the dipsh*t said about Playboy X that was the spoiler.

At the very least you could have noted that there were spoilers in the topic title

''Pool in the safehouse'' is not a spoiler whether we are talking about the game or indoor swimming. Spoilers are what gives away a story or plot in a movie, show, book, game, or whatever media.

This is the general area to talk about GTAIV if you need help with missions there is a mission help section for you. I think in the mission help section is where spoiler tags need to be more enforced not the general IV chat section. ( Only in the topic title, which is clearly not the issue here.)

Basically we just warned people don't open a thread on here expecting not to get spoiled and then bitch about it. After you know the story then come on here, but people can do whatever they want. They can be dumb and spoil it for themselves, I don't care. I just find it funny when they bitch about it like you do.

And numbmind, I don't care if you completed the game yesterday, my previous post wasn't about your life story. I was talking about those poor unfortunate people who seem to have internet access and are stupid enough to have their poor unfortunate lives ruined by spoilers.

This is way off topic, but that question's been answered anyway. I feel the need to jump into the spoiler debate. In my opinion people should always use them, no matter what section of the forums or how long the game/film has been out.

It's a courtesy that costs the writer nothing. Surely it's easier and more community friendly for someone to add a couple of bits of code to a post, than to ask people to stay completely out of the forum until they've played through a storyline. Apart from anything it makes you think about what you're typing, which can only be a benefit.

In the general section there are plenty of interesting topics which won't spoil things for me. Should I ignore all those just because someone couldn't be bothered to put a black line over some text?

What if, at some point, TBOGT is released for PC or PS3. I'm not getting into that debate now, but imagine it does. That means everyone who ever might want to play it has to avoid the entire TBOGT section from the day of its Xbox release until some indefinite time in the future. It really isn't a hassle to add spoiler tags. By asking the reader to be responsible you're cutting out a massive audience of people who might have otherwise read whatever you felt was so important to type.

And for the record, I see no problem with still adding spoiler tags to posts about GTAIII.

Obviously, people will still post spoilers and ruin thing for others, but that shouldn't be the rule. The reader needs to read with caution, but the writer always total control and is IMO responsible for not giving away things unnessarily.

I have no problem with people not using tags if there is a clear warning in the title or top of the post.

Oddly the only GTAF spoiler that has ever affected me is when someone posted about a main character in Lost being killed (in the GTA San Andreas cheats section) before it had been aired in the UK. I'd never gone into the LOST topic in the Movies & TV section purely because it state "spoilers inside".

I wish you guys would expend the same amount of energy in USING spoiler tags that you spend in arguing whether they should or should not be used. The spoiler tag feature is there for a REASON whether you agree with that reason or not. If you don't wish to use spoiler tags then don't give away chunks of the story. The TC quite clearly gave away a bit of the story here and there was no need for him to do so.

No one is saying "Pool in the safehouse" is a spoiler but posting that you get to kill playboyX is. There are still an awful lot of people that have either just started playing GTA 4 or who have yet to finish it. It is just decent courtesy that when revealing elements of the story you use the spoiler tags.

They shouldn't be on a general chat about it if they don't want it spoiled.

You people all have qualified for a Darwin Award...please pick it up on your way down from the cliff.

I have actually seen the intelligence dwindle down to pre-evolution era in the two pages this topic takes.

Bottom Line: Forum rules state that you have to use spoiler tags, it doesn't matter how long the game's been out you imbeciles.
