Guns N R0se
Is there a way? When I connect my ipod the only files I can see are pictures.
GTArv
Music is stored in some hidden folder, can't remember where exactly. Enable "Show Hidden Folders" in Explorer and browse through, or just do a search for .mp3 files (or whatever format you use) on your iPod drive. The problem is, iTunes renames the files to some gibberish when it transfers music to your iPod. However, MP3 tags are left intact. You'll have to rely on the tags to locate the particular file you want. There's free software out there to make your job easier like MP3 Tag, which lets you rename files according to the tags. Even better, there probably exists an app that can copy music files from an iPod, automatically rename and sort them. This is assuming you are on Windows. Mince
When I accidentally restored my computer (don't ask ), I used iDump to get all of my songs back. It imports them and keeps all of the info (such as artist, song title year, etc.) It's free, so, yeah...

Mince
Really? Hmm, what model do you have? I don't see how that would matter though, yet I don't see why it wouldn't work...

Mince
I've got a 1st gen ipod touch I don't know then... I'll plug my iPod in and take a look at it what I have to do.' EDIT: I just open iDump and my iPod shows up (it was already plugged in). Let me read some more about it and see what it says about certain models.... EDIT 2: I think that unless you had previously selected "enable disk use" it won't show up. That allows the iPod to show up as an external drive and you can access its files. Sorry . There must be another tool somewhere. Edited September 27, 2009 by mincemate003

Guns N R0se
I think I got it to work...I DL'ed itunes and used the new home sharing feature... Failure, home sharing doesn't come up. I've authorized both computers and enabled home sharing and nothing comes up. All i've managed to do is kill my ipod. Go to 'Folder Options' and clear the check mark from 'show hidden Files'
