ikt
Hello. I think i found something that works like downsampling, but only in HD formats (16:9). 1: Open up Catalyst Control Center 2: Go to Desktop and Displays 3: Rightmouseclick on your monitor in the lower part of the menu (the smaller pic), then choose Configure 4: Go to HDTV support 5: Choose a resolution more than your monitors default size, then click on it. 6: Ignore the warning and click on yes. 7: Click on Apply. (Not "Apply format") 8: Now go to GTA IV and choose the new resolution. If your monitor is capable of downscaling or such, it should downscale. If not, you could get a blank screen (Out of Range) like me. Or even worse, you destroy your monitor. The reason i chose GTA IV as resolution testing format is that you can quit it quite easely, without applying the resolution forever. Just alt-F4. But be sure you can alt-f4 at all times in GTA IV first, or you'll be f*cked. If it works, let us know. Edited September 27, 2009 by ikt
Murcchachosa
2 questions 1) Why taking the risk to destroy your monitor? 2) What about nVidia users?
ikt
2 questions 1) Why taking the risk to destroy your monitor? 2) What about nVidia users? nVidia users should be able to do this another way, that has been posted before. ATi users also can do this already on XP, but it's impossible for Vista.
AmbiquitY
I'm an ATI user and I'm on XP but I'm scared of trying this because I don't want to break my monitor!
ikt
Why take the risk? Why did these people take the risk? http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...=0&hl=downscale
WTFX
u'd have to have a REALLY crappy monitor to screw it up with too high res.. i guess more danger could come from wrong timings, but that's unlikely too.. it's most likely just -OUT OF RANGE- i recall this won't work with VGA connection.. too bad.
