Parked vehicles + 2nd Island

1. How rare is it that parked vehicles disappear?

 

2. I'm on the 2nd mission of both Lil' Jacob and Demetri, and I was wondering how long would it be before I get to the 2nd island?

1. Very rare.

 

2. Long. You have to go to bohan (which is already unlocked) and later to algonquin then.

1. Not rare. If you get into police trouble near your parked car they might just steal it.

 

2. You could call Bohan (top right corner of the map) the second island. Bohan is already unlocked. If you are talking about Algonquin (the island to the left of where your current safehouse is), well.. it will take some time.

as long as you get far away from your house fast, they most likely won't disappear. every now and then, someone will steal one or your data will corrupt and delete one.

 

pretty long. once you get it, though, the game really speeds up and you'll have alderney in no time.

Algonquin is really boring, only some of Jersey is special. The most love was put into Bohan and Dukes, no question. It's where they knew 75% of people who played IV would never even play long enough to leave.

 

Anyway, it is awesome the first time you drive through it, but its just a grid over there.

1: I suffer this problem mostly at the Alderney safehouse.

For the first question, watch out for the apartment in Middle Park East, Algonquin, once you get it.

It's by a road with heavy traffic, and due to the fact that you will sooner or later be hangin' around Middle Park, the sad fact is that many cars disappear. I now have a LCPD Maverick there, I really, really hope that it will stay there, too, was a hell of a job to get it there.

Wow, I cannot disagree more. Have you taken the helicopter tours? Algonquin is incredible! Alderney also provides quite a bit of variety which I've had the pleasure of noticing since replaying TLAD.

 

Back on topic, I don't quite understand the question. Is this a car that you're just parking in a random spot on the road?

When I say "parked cars," I mean the cars that you part into the yellow strip at your safehouse.

i only ever lost a car in the alderney safehouse when i lost a feltzer when i parked a ruiner close to the space, then i saved the game went back outside and the ruiner was in the space and the feltzer was gone but ive never had a problem with the parking in algonquin.

Sometimes other cars will knock your car out of the parking spot and you can lose it that way.

After killing Francis I stole the Romero and parked it at the Middle Park East safehouse and it just vanished a few days later. Boy, I was pissed.

1) For the vehicles, the only ways you lose them is if a cop steals one to chase you with, or if a car knocks it out of your space.

 

2) You've got a while to go. Don't rush it though. Watch the cutscenes and try to follow the story. Makes GTA IV more interesting and addicting.
