Img Tool help

Whenever i try to replace something in my GTA3.img file with something i downloaded it always says the file is too big to replace it.

How do i fix this because i really want to mod some of my cars

First, modding questions go in the Modding Forums Over here, this section is for un-modded games. You will get better help over there, as the people in those sections will know more about modding. It says this at the top of every section. Please post in the correct section next time. Thanks.

 

Also, before creating a new topic, be sure to use the Search feature over here, to see if that question has been answered before. I'm sure it has, since this is a common tool used for modding.-If i'm not mistaken, there is a topic floating around somewhere from 2006, that I created about how to use the IMG tool. A search should find that topic.

Just instead of replacing files delete the old one and import new file.

Replacing files with bigger ones in gta3.img only works on GTA San Andreas.

Also, if you replace\add a lot of files don't forget to rebuild archive.
