SanAndreasManiac
What do ya think was lacking is SA? missed something? for me, it's the Rock/Alcatraz Prison Island, maybe another beachy small city in the countryside apart from LS, being able to take a gf to cinema, TV's of course, etc try not to turn this a NeXt topic, this is NOT a wishlist for future GTA's just a list for things that would fit into the atmosphere of SA, and DO NOT copy/paste a list of the new features in IV, that's not the point! Stefan.
What the hell is wrong with a GPS? It's like it's on when you're pissing about having fun; it helps you a lot during missions and you don't waste time pissing about trying to find your way to a destination, especially if your destination is the fun part (blowing up people and sh*t like that). I think robbing stores would've been good. Considering that it's set in the early 1990s, and that CJ was from a gang which was based on a gang from south-central Los Angeles around that time, a lot of them would've committed a lot of crime through armed robbery. They had burglary, yeah, but the ability to actually go into stores and rob them of cash (like in Vice City) would've been sweet.
TonyClifton
I totally agree about an Alcatraz type island. That would have been great fun. And I really wish there had been a suggestion of Bigfoot in the wilderness. Tracks, poo, etc. HalfOfAKebab

iamanevilbastard
Armed robs. Attempts on your life by the Ballas/Vagos, then the Da Nang Boys Vietnamese gang, then the Mafia toward the end of the game. Breaking into stores. Yeah, I know about burgs on houses in the game, but why not on stores? A semi-auto sniper rifle. An M107 maybe, seeing as it was in production around 1992? It'd have to be EXTEMELY hard to find, given that its such a high powered rifle. Lock on for the minigun. A stat for cops killed, and drug dealers killed. Greedily, more melee weapons: butterfly knives, nunchakus, 'neckties' (Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, anyone?), an axe, double ended hunting knife, ball bearing cosh...jeez, i could go on, dont let me get started. Throwing knives. Or the ability to throw meat cleavers, like in that cutscene with Salvatore and Maria. Edit: oh and a revolver. A .38 or .44, or the GTA staple, the .357 Magnum. Algonquin Assassin
Yeah a Alcatraz-ish type prison island would've been great. Sweet could've been sent there, and you have to break him out. im_stoned
d.nivatkar
An semi-auto sniper would have been good, HK PSG-1 or maybe even the HK G3SG-1 How many of us have actively used the Hunting Rifle ?
WoolerSA
I have. It's hard to target, but good for sniping if you don't have a sniper rifle.
Jack Reacher
About the waypoint thing, i would like to set more than one. That is, you set your first one, then your second one from that route, then your third etc etc When you are in game, only one appears at a time, when you get to it the next appears on your mini map. Sometimes in the country side there is a certain route i want to take using dirtpaths and i have to keep checknig the map to know im going the right way, i would have loved this waypoint system
d.nivatkar
I have. It's hard to target, but good for sniping if you don't have a sniper rifle. Its not hard to target or anything in the PC version, its same as all the weapons, TAB or RMB for free-aim, LMB / LCntrl to fire (MMB to zoom in / zoom out for sniper and camera) And why would I not have a Sniper Rifle ? I play the game almost exclusively with the Silenced Pistol, MP5 and Sniper Rifle, with Ak as supplement during LS part of the game and M4 for rest LS - Sniper spawns in the interglobal television studio, while the rifle spawns near mulholland, same street as the mad dogg's crib, I think the sniper is more easy to get SF - After collecting 50 snaps it spawns adjacent to the doherty garage, pick it up, save .... so on, also three missions, Outrider, Snail Trail and Pier 69 provide it LV - After Pier 69 it is even available in ammunation or simply using the doherty trick works Also with a damage of 125, Sniper kills in one shot to anywhere, has a scope and greater range, but the Rifle with its damage of 75 needs headshots for instant kills, maybe its only advantage is it can stop someone in their tracks or knock them down, allowing to take that second shot This is gonna be like the AWM vs Scout discussions in Counter Strike Back to the topic I'd also have liked to see the VLA and Triads to be friendly with CJ and the GSF and maybe even recruitable, VLA after badlands / Los Desparados (since they don't spawn till then), the Triads after The Da Nang Thang GSF should have spawned near all the assets and points of interests of CJ (like Vercetti Gang in Vice City) and as we progress, GSF should be dressed in suits carrying M4s, MP5s and SPAZ-12s and drive good cars, like the Sultan, Sentinel etc VLA and GSF should have spawned near the Wang Car Showroom and Doherty Garage Triads and GSF should have spawned near the Four Dragons Casino Mafia spawns near the Caligulas, first with good weapons (M4, Mp5 etc) and with poor weapons (Pistols, bats) after Breaking the Bank at Caligula's The San Fierro Rifa ceasing to appear after Ya Ka Boom Boom or becoming rare atleast The Madd Dogg's crib and the Four Dragons should have been assets after Cut throat business and Fish is a barrel / Breaking the bank at caligula's garnering $12000 and $15000 each Rhino should have actually been flameproof instead of explosion proof (That is the purpose of RPGs isn't it ? ) Edited September 30, 2009 by d.nivatkar

bobgtafan
Well I really think that land connecting SA to the rest of the U.S was missing. It was kind of weird when I relized this whole state was just surrounded by water. I could understand Vice but A WHOLE f*ckING STATE? I mean to the south, east and northeast could of been desert and the northwest could of been neverending forest. That would of been much better in my opnion. Hills - city - beach- ocean. (logical) Mountain - Hills -city - harbors - water. (logical) Hills - forest - highways/creepy towns - Ocean. (If may be you cut some slack) Hills - forest - forest - mountain - Ocean. (yeah, this mountain is at sea level) Hills - waterbody - desert -desert - Ocean. (WTF?!) Magic_Al
San Andreas is surrounded by water because that's better than having a mainland with some fake barrier. Here are some real missing features from San Andreas: Car wash. Mentioned in previews, non-functional in game. But they did leave in the effect of cars getting dirty, meant to be washed. Oops. Integrated interiors. In Vice City and the Stories games you can be in your safehouse and look through the window or door and see the exterior neighborhood and hear sounds from the street. In San Andreas you can't, interiors feel isolated from the rest of the map. CJ eats invisible food, no food models for him to hold in his hand. This is not necessarily a IV feature because it's technically no different than the Sprunk can CJ holds, also Bully uses San Andreas engine and you can pick up and eat visible food.
