Bates_GTA
I've been this a bunch lately, becaues of SuperJude as he hosts most the time, he's managed to make me a huge fan of the game mode and a few others aswel. I've also noticed some pretty specialist players whilst i've been having a crack at it, i'm not quite sure how to be good at it, but some people finish off with the most money more often than not. Anyone else enjoy it? Why is it so under-rated? Add me if your up for a few games on it; PSN BatesAvfc
Dovlan
After tonights matches, I definately think it's an underated game mode. I'd love to do that again sometime.
aFinn
It's possible a lot of people just haven't tried it. I personally like it due to the varied tasks. We've played quite a few of these on our SRS meets so that's how I got introduced to it. I guess if people don't have a friend to introduce to this game mode it might not be the most popular out there to try out on your own. And some people probably don't have the attention span long enough to complete tasks or patience to wait for the next, they just go bang bang on deathmatches. andysniper
i think ive only tried it once, it was allright apart from the fact everyone left within the first task. i reckon alot of people just havent tried anything other than dm tdm race and fm though. dont ask me why these people arent adventurous enough though. SuperJude™
Yeah man, with you on the love for this mode. I think the key is knowing what to run with how many people, thus me taking Brucester's suggestion and running a whole lot of money based games. Actually did $2500, $5000, $7500 then $10,000 in a row and it was an awesome series of games. Blips FAR seems to be the best option. Team is better for TW IMO, All doesn't reall work too well. The more people from here who play the better these games are getting, I guess because we are all decent at killing/driving/know our maps and this is the one mode where all those come in handy. Plus you can't beat picking up some gangsters, wiping out some drug dealers, delivering some drugs and capping it off by needing to dispose of a bloody head, all the while wondering when somebody will come in from the other team, steal your item and complete task. Gets totally hectic sometimes!

Gets totally hectic sometimes! It can get a bit insane sometimes. Whats really tip top is when you have 3 other team members bearing down on you and you still manage to complete your task. Most of the time they will just kill you afterwards though and others just focus on the tasks. I myself have had a few games that were just complete dominance like one time 4 members from my group left and it was just me and another guy vs 5 but we still won by a huge margin. TheBruceter
I'v managed to add a good 7 people or so that are up on the boards, so that means that they have played it a fair amount and know what their doing D7L, GraveRobba, Dythlan, MadMonk, CrazyCarStylez are the ones that are sticking in my head the now. Very good bunch of players (disallow ) so whoever is on my buddy list, could end up in some games with these guys. As i said to Bates last night, your tasks where its kill/destroy, use grenades or rockets, and know your map very well. Always try and go the fastest route. Theres a task where its kill a whole bunch of guys, try and get there ASAP. Tend to get about 2k just from that one task alone so that can make or break the game. Don't use explosives when its to get a car, or rescue the hoes or whatever, each task failed = -500. And then theres the vehicles One of the tasks is theres a bunch of cars scattered about. Tend to be your faster ones and also slides in a Comet and Patriot. (f*cking love the Patriot, had a good laugh yesterday with one.) If its Ivo has just been whacked, tends to be the black done up Sentinel also delivering the prototype gun, the guy you give it to is in a black sentinel. The greedy bitch that wants more, kill her and you can steal her Peyote And one of the best ones to look out for, someone is going to jail and you've to take him out (he tends to come out the back of the Police STOCKADE.) Make it crash and kill every f*cker and steal it. Always good for a laugh (until your tyres get blown out lol) Theres also things like respawning. You kill someone, they will tend to respawn near their teammates. So if your miles away and see someone, DON'T KILL THEM. But make sure to try and kill people inbetween tasks. Will make it longer for their phone to go, giving you a head start. Oh yeah, before the phone goes, drive towards your enemys (tasks seem to be equal distance between everyone, i think, so you tend to have to drive by your enemys.) And always try and have your team fairly split up. Nothing worse than having 4 people in 1 car for the car to roll, blow up etc.
theGANNER
I played it for the first time when I was a level 1, didnt like it. Last week I was going for trophies and played it again in team mode. Now that I am level 7 and have a little bit of experience I find it much better. I like the deathmatch and tactical aspect of it and it never gets old. The more people go for the trophies the more will stay and realize that TMW is a lot of fun. mecotterill
I'm looking for good Mafiya team players who know what they're doing! Nothing beats riding round with a big gang, performing well executed missions. I mean people who know how to drop team members into to cover rather than dumping the car next to a big group of enemy - and ppl who will hang back and draw their fire while the other members of the team perform the task. I'm a novice/average skill, but I've played a bit so know what not to do If you're interested add me and I'll join in. mecotterill

TheBruceter
I have been thinking of it, but just with the way things are for me, i doubt i could. College and workin 2 jobs sucks The way i'v been going is just mass inviting people when i find a good game. Been adding people that hate AA but are in the top 30 (very active.) So fling me a request Chilly, and i'll try and get you in some games soon Last night was quite wicked. Me and King v 2 teams, good teams at that. Team on top was 2 guys with the same name with some randoms. They managed to obtain an early lead but me and King was on their ass throughout most of the game.. guys were joining and leaving throughout the game (all to switch sides and get on the team that was loosing..) I sent an invite to a friggin good killer (think shes female aswell ) so was the 3 of us, v 4 v 5 or 6. Just before we sent out the invite to Ethereal, we had managed to take the lead for a couple of tasks and ethe ended up getting slung in with the team we were fighting for first place against, nooooo That was us over unfortunatley, the team that was last ended up pulling above us at the end just due to the numbers they had. Was a f*ckin quality game, but as SJ has said, Bohan is just too small for a larger amount of players. meco, what platform you play on?

A J
Bruceter, you have to invite me to disallow TMW, as soon as I finish in Uni in about 2 weeks, will be online a lot more. I have a question, if say the task is to dispose of a head / deliver a car/drugs could you just take the item somewhere, and then just have an all out deathmatch, and rack up the kills? There are probably a lot of tactics involved in the game? I got a mic so it would pretty cool to do something like that, plus could make a lot of money (more fun than noose grinding). what kind of tactics do high level players use?
TheBruceter
Will do man, will do Afternoon time sucks for games though, always after 6 is when the better games get started. (just pushed upto 90th last night, guy above and below me are close ) Yeah you can drop an item, and hide but after a time limit (not sure what it is) the task will just disappear. Had this happen a couple of times with just too many people about and no-one managing to pick the task back up. But i have been thinking of something like that Camping in the strip club or something lol It can be a good trick (more so if blips are on far/team) to drop the task at a corner, and let a couple of guys come close, then blast their asses I really, really want my mic to come through.. lol I know tactic wise it will be kick ass. Even just saying to people 'feck i'v rolled my car' or something along those lines would be handy. Tactic wise, i'm a gun and run kind of guy i'll try and get close to my team mates, get a distraction going then bolt it. A level 7 last night kept just going head on into the other team It can work, but if against good players, your just gonna die. So in other words, try and work your way round the other teams. Nothing better than a well timed grenade
A J
i'm hardly ever online any more, between university during the day and girlfriend requiring attention whenever i seem to turn on the damn ps3, never really get to be on. Fridays I have off, so thats a good day for me at the moment. Yeah a mic is really handy, i play cops n crooks mainly, was ranked in top 70 (dont know now) when your boss you can let your crew know were the cops are, just wish people without mics could hear you because there is always some noob, honking his horn for you to get in his car, and if you dont at first he'll start trying to run you down, be good to tell him were to go. i didn't realise there was a time limit to tasks, would of been great to relocate a task objective, and fight over it. do helicopters ever come into play out of interest? i'm sure they would in alderney, but do they ever offer much advantage? be cool to have a team involving a great pilot, a sniper who could get dropped on high buildings over looking tasks to take out the other team, a good driver and a good shooter.
TheBruceter
Yeah i know what you mean about the noobs that honkn horns and proceed to do other sh*t. Like if they die, and i'm driving to an objective, alot tend to shoot your car cause you ain't stopped for them.. flat tyres are a bitch, slow you down. So i'm forever driving through health to keep my car in tip top shape. Yeah the time limit bit can suck, but obviously that means theres a kick ass shootout happened the time limit only happens if someone has already got the task and has been killed/dropped it. So there has been times that an objective car has drove its way over to another island As for heli's I hate it when people do it. Not many people tend to go out there way for them (if they do, people tend to drop out) but yeah in Alderney, if you see someone taking to the skys, your better off grabbing one. The helis really help for picking people up and just flying away at your own leisure. One funny time on Algonquin, me v 3 level 10's, blip far. One level 10 was inactive, the other 2 idiots spent their time getting a heli each from Alderney. By the time they had came back i was up at 2k, and the task was kill 2 police officers in a cop car (i didn't know they had got helis at this point..) So i'm chasing this car and i thought i heard a noise, one heli landed down so i got the quick shot off and killed him. I managed to kill the cops, just in time for the next heli landing (remember, heli can't kill people in a car, so they need to land.) Killed him as he landed, so heres me sitting up at 3k with 2 helis sitting there for my disposal Next task i obviously nabbed a heli and landed below the bridge, Task done. The 2 active 10's left.. lol

TheBruceter
Hey Chomp Nice to see you've signed up here. Saw you about on TMW You relised how sh*t AA is yet? I'v added a bunch of dis only players, get so much better games. Yeah i like your theory about having 1 person for doing diff things. You need communication to be like that though (which I still don't bloody have ) Games i play your pretty much screwed if theres a bunch of the enemy team near you The guys have amazing headshots, really good at drive bys and moving the car about, and know the quick routes etc.
ChompRock
Yeah, played single player MW for the first time, AA was off and I was inning by miles. Second game I played used AA, I couldn't move without getting shot! AA sucks!
rizlakilla
TMW is my favourite mp mode and basically the only game I play. sometimes also a quick Race. You might have seen me in LC I'm "reseauskela" Favourite is TMW two teams $25.000 in Broker or Alderney. Algonquin too big unless there are over 20 players. Lately I often go get a heli, since you can rotate mouse view now. Petrovic's missions are funny as hell "go destroy voodoos so the value of mine increases" hahaha "judge did not pronounce the verdict we expected, maybe if you destroy his car it'll change his mind" haha it becomes a Race to get there first, and in between missions it turns into Team Deathmatch. Yes, TMW has it all. Edited December 7, 2009 by rizlakilla
BuzzBeerCompany
I've played TMW in both regular and rigged set up mode. Regular is the normal way and rigged is where you set it up to start with only 3 players. With at least 2 you and your friend on different teams, then when game starts you and your friend kick the 3rd player, leaving just the 2 of you. You pre agree to either split the missions and both get just under the $50,000 game limit goal number. Or one player/friend plays less, takes break and even can leave room as long as game system stays on the other friend can do ALL of the missions and collect all the cash or BOTH players are active but agree not to shoot at each other and to kill riders that will shoot at the "friend" in other car. Also play with parked cars and no pedestrians, so travel is easier and suspects on roadside with be alone and easy to spot. Algonquin (center island) is a good TMW playing area, Bohan is smaller and Dukes is all over the place same with Alderney. There are NO helicopters in TMW, but there are boats and map glitches still work.
