Mr_Smith
There are something i've never understood in the gta pc filming possibility. When i press that current button i gotta press to start "Filming", do i have to press it several times after for example 5 seconds? How does this system work cause i don't seem to understand it. The videos i make fails. Any help please?
Girish
When you hit 'F2', the game does not start recording; it just stores the previous 30 seconds or so of your gameplay. So, say for example, if you want to record a unique stunt jump, finish the jump first within 30 seconds and then hit 'F2' to save the previous 30 seconds of gameplay. Girish
Unfortunately, that's how it is. If it seems too complicated, you can record videos using Fraps.

Girish
Camera needed for this? Not at all. It runs in the background. It also displays your in-game fps. Also, can i record on multiplayer? Yes, you can record absolutely any game with Fraps. The free version only comes with a 30 second video recording limit though. If you want to record unlimited, then you'll have to buy it. It's worth it, if you ask me.

Girish
Yeah, of course. You can start recording at the press of a button at any point in the game.
Mr_Smith
Yeah, of course. You can start recording at the press of a button at any point in the game. Awsome, just have to learn it. So it's 30 seconds then press the button. Then film again in 30 second and press?

supermortalhuman
What I want to know is why when I press the damn thing every 30 seconds, why the *hell* does it give me varying lengths of footage, with the sh*t I ALREADY captured and NOT allow me to cut off the extra sh*t I didn't need? Girish
But in game filming you do a movie thing and after 30 seconds you press button to save, right? Yeah, that's GTA IV's in-game recording feature. If you want to use that, make sure you've clip capture turned on. It can be found in Options > Game. @supermortalhuman: The length varies according to the amount of action involved in the last 30 seconds or so. The extra sh*t that you don't need can be edited out from the video editor, right?

x Undead x
I personally don't see what the problem is Pause the game, turn clip capture on. Then the game will automatically be recording all the time. After you've done something you want to keep, e.g. you shot someone in the head, hit F2. Go to your phone, hit replay editor, then open up the editor ( 1 right ) then double click the clip, then click it when it's in the timeline. Afterwards, if the timeline doesn't seem to want to move, press play, pause it, then drag the pause icon to where-ever your bit starts. Then... drag the icon to the left of the timeline all the way to the pause icon, do the same for the right icon. Everything should now be aligned and ready to edit. Then hit F6 to save your edited clip.
supermortalhuman
Then you didn't read. We want to know how it is possible to cut clips when they all include redundant bullsh*t that should not be there if I already captured the clip... How can you edit the length of clips? It's very dodgy, the whole thing is pretty sh*tty if you can't even setup shots, cut pieces of footage, etc, without an external editor...

GTA_Vista
if you can't even setup shots You have access to multi angle shots in the editor once youve recorded your clip. So dont worry if you didnt get the angle you wanted, you can do almost any shot at any speed and with any effect AFTER youve taken the clip. Pretty awesome I feel once youve got round the whole 30 second clip capture thing, its a pain I know.
