xlastshotx
I bought GTA IV the other day, I installed and signed up for rockstar social club and games for windows live. But when I try to install the game this is the only thing that happens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psu2c9hnVDA Here is a screenshot of the cmd box that pops up for a split second. How do I fix this?
Girish
Is this a retail copy or a Steam copy? Post your system specifications. Make sure you close all running applications before trying to install the game. Close your anti-virus, firewall and everything else that might interfere in the installation. Retail Specs Q9550 GTX275 XFX 780i SLI MCP Team Dark 2x2GB DDR2 1066 Seagate 640GB x2 Raid 0 Vista Business 32-Bit I don't have an anti-virus, but I will disable windows firewall and see what that does. *Edit I closed every non-essential windows process, disabled firewall, and tried it again.. Still does the same thing Edited September 25, 2009 by xlastshotx
Girish
What happens after the cmd box appears and goes? Is the setup still running? Check the Processes in Windows Task Manager. If there is a setup.exe or anything related to IV in there, then right-click on it and try changing its priority to High. See if it helps. Also, I hope you have Service Pack 1 of Vista since that's the game's requirement.

After I press accept on the "Grand Theft Auto IV Setup" the blank cmd box pops up, then it returns me to the GTA IV Setup. Nothing appears in the task manager when the blank cmd box pops up. I'm on SP2
mkey82
Which OS are you using? I guess Vista. Do you have any disk imaging software installed? Is maybe the DVD damaged? Try copying both DVDs to HDD and install from there. How much free space do you have on your system partition?
