Problem Map in SA

So i made a map in 3D MAx, it works perfectly on a clean copy of SA with no SA map. (Map cleaned)

 

Now, i tried putting it in a normal SA with the full map on. It crashes.

 

I changed the ID's from my models from 5*** (ex: 5050) to 55*** (ex: 55050)

 

Still crashes at loading bar (alsmot half).

 

Im using a separated IMG, it is declared in the gta.dat.

It should appear close to LC map interior. But in interior 0. (Normal like LS/SF/LV)

 

Cols are all ok, same with DFF's. Because it works on a clean SA map.

 

I dont know if i reached the game limit with My Map+SA Map. Did I? Or is it another problem?

Found the problem. Its the Cols.

 

I think there are to many i dunno. I merged all into one Col. (All cols listed on one col file), but the game still crashes while loading. If i delet the cols, it loads fine.

 

Any idea? Like i said before it works on a map cleaned SA. So i tink im on the limit here with SA map.

Ok, so... Game wont load my map because of cols.. to many cols? Ok, lets delet 2 Citys and only leave SF

 

i tried cleaning the SA map and only leaving SF. Game works. No SF appears.

 

Uncommented the IPL lines from SF to see it, game crashes.

 

 

So... Used G-IMG to extract all the DFF/TXD/ from SF, based on its IDE's.

 

Cleaned whole SA.

 

Imported one part of SF (SFw) to MAX, it says some DFF files are missing (using MAP IO) but guess what? All the "Missing DFF" are in the folder i pointed MAP IO they were. Anyways they seem to appear in MAX anyway. So i just RE-export IDE and IPL, so the game wont use some things that are not listed in my new IMG.

 

SA Crashes. I dont have the cols in this new files. So i may just tak all the cols from original IMG, and put them in my SF.IMG. Perhaps thats the problem, but i really dont feel thats my problem.

 

Would be nice to see if someone has any idea of how i could put SF alone.

edit: Its not because of cols, i put every single one from gta3.img. Yet crashes a second after loading.

There IS a limit on how many IMG files you can use in San Andreas - maybe it's five (aside from the default/auto loaded ones). So if you happen to have a vehicles img, a weapons img, etc, it may be a limit. This is different from the collision limits, tho it's 5 new ones to stock sa as well.

 

To get SF alone, I think you've worked out the proper way (clean map entirely, rebuild map into it)

 

There are binary IPL files (SF uses a lot, I think) - have you looked over these? They may hold the answer to unaccounted for objects.

 

Collisions: Are they surely still safe and sound? Is the file named the same as your new IDE file? This is important to name them the same, and often to "sort by ide" (in col editor II menus) can help with large ones, especially those that have similarly named files.

 

Is your img for sure clean (like, setup in order: DFF, TXD's, Col library for each ide, in that order) and rebuilt? Spark won't rebuild your img, it's designed to save new ones or to let you overwrite old data within them, however when working with custom img files, rebuilds are a common thing to need to do to work out bugs. I like Alky's editor, it rebuilds quickly. Spark for all other tasks imo (since it's drag and drop, you end up with a cool workflow when populating your IDE contents into the img).

 

The models don't necessarily HAVE to be in perfect order in the img, it's give or take with that rule of thumb, but it's good to rule it out and easy to make an ordered img. And they can all be alphabetical order or not ordered at all in that sense as long as it's DFFs first, TXD's next, then the col file for those last files, then any ipl and ifp for the img. Then you populate the next ide and so on.

 

I can help some more, let's go one thing at a time. I think you probably still need some more answers at this point, let me knwo where I'm lacking.

I love you. Im now converting them to new IPL's, with Steve-m's decompiled BinaryIPL's.

 

Im still doing SFe, which is separated on some SFe_streamX.ipl, so im creating them. Just a question..

 

How do i assign a LOD to an object, when the defined object is in one IPL, and the lod is in another?

 

SFe_stream1.ipl Has Default object

SFe.ipl has it LOD
