I've been playing around with Tasker, UCCW, and Zooper lately.

Instead of going with Motorola, I went with LG and got an G2. Holy crap, the display is beautiful and the phone is fast as hell. Battery is big as well.

I'm actually thinking of getting it. By the way, how long does the phone last on heavy usage? And how is gaming performance an all?

Well it's quad core and it has Snapdragon 800 so gaming performance is not a problem at all. You can pretty much run any game without problems. And since it has a huge 3000 mAh battery it easily lasts a day on medium to heavy usage. Of course it'll differ from person to person and how much you use your phone.

So this year I plan to upgrade my phone and I was thinking of Sony's new Z series phone (obviously we now know it's the Z3+) since I've been (for the most part) pleased with the Z1. Looking through the specs and... Oh... No... That can't be right... *Goes to Sony's site to look at offical specs* No!... Why?... Why that reaction you ask? It has a snapdragon 810, a failure of a chip which is only capable of out performing the 805 (in 3d mark anyway) in a Chinese phone...

 

Three options for me then...

 

An Asus Zenfone 2, the z3580 is a pain to find atm.

A Chinese phone with an 810 that can actually out perform the previous chip.

Or hope that Qualcomm isn't stupid with their next chip and hope that Sony releases a flagship with said chip before the end of the year.

 

 

Speaking of Chinese phones... Does anyone have any experience with Xiaomi's and ZTE's phones?

 

 

 

EDIT: In case you're wondering why I'd look into another phone with a 810 when I've literally just given sony sh*t for it, well, I'm doing that because the z3+ performs pretty poorly compared to other 810 devices like m9 (which IIRC suffers from thermal throttling while doing more intense tasks like playing games, effectively taking the performance down to an 801). I assume the two Chinese phones that actually show the 810 in good light are actually built to properly dissipate the heat generated.

I'm honestly getting fed up with my GS5. Yes, I know it's a good phone, but recently, it hasn't been so good. The phone is always using so much RAM, apps keep opening for no reason, the battery life usually lasts less than 5 hours, and earlier today, the phone gave me a painful burn due to it overheating. I was considering the Ascend Mate 7 since it seems like a nice phone, but it's more of a tablet than a phone, which upsets me. So, anyone got recommendation on smartphones?

Just do a system restore. If it still acts up after that then maybe something else is wrong. There's no need to upgrade yet when you haven't done a system restore.

See, even if I do a system restore on my GS5, it'll just install the Lollipop update again, and the issues will come back.

No it won't. It will revert back to KitKat. You are not forced to download Lollipop at all, just be careful and read about what you're updating.

My phone would perform terribly and crash super often. (Or reboot. Whatever it's called). That started when the Lollipop update became available. I thought updating my phone to Lollipop would stop the crashing and performance issues. Lollipop fixed that. Sort of. The crashing/rebooting went away, but the performance issues are back. And now with a couple more issues. I don't have good luck with Galaxy phones. My GS5 is pretty much having the same issues as my old GS4 now; overheating, slow performance, low battery, and things like that. (Seriously, the burn that my GS5 gave me hurt so bad. Even after hours after it happened, it hurts. I'm honestly kind of scared to touch my phone now, lol.)

@MyName'sJeff It's LG so of course, it has a skin. But it mostly just adds a few useful features. Personally, if I would you I would just root the phone, flash a rom and be happy with the phone. It's performance is amazing, but if you flash a rom you'll get the most out of it.

LG's skin is probably the best I've seen.. compared to Samsung's TouchWiz, the LG UI is like stock Android but with a different icon style, and different soft keys. I don't think you'd have to root anything if you get the G2, but you could if you are interested in adding more stuff.

 

I previously had a G2 and it's by far the best phone I've had yet.. I wish I still had it.

Hey guys! Having a bit of an issue with my LG G3 on 4.3.3, I use photoshop a lot and I'm transfering a lot of my work to my phone for a quick upload via the DeviantArt app. So the issue is that my phone completely wrecks my work by lowering the quality if I save my work on anything but .Jpg. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Got the OnePlus One today.

 

So far so good. One random reboot, we'll see if that becomes an issue.

 

I've read a lot about this phone before purchasing, and even with some of the caveats it has, there isn't another phone near this price for what you get.

 

Really like some of the subtle features of Cyanogen as well.
