Carnage1120
While I'll have to agree with every other post in this thread that suggests you should just leave it alone, I'll offer an alternative. Get a camera and follow her around on breaks. If she's a chain smoker, then she can't go long without a drag, so you're pretty much guaranteed to catch her in the act on the school campus. If not, then you'll have to be a bit stealthier and follow her in a car at the end of the day. I bet she won't get a block from the school without lighting up. Once you've captured the proof, you'll want to print the photos out on a transparent sheet and get an overhead projector to present them in class. Bam, another life shat on. Instant suspension would probably happen...and maybe an ass whoopin later on. I dunno. It's not illegal to take photographs in public places, and second, there is surely a rule forbidding smoking for everyone on campus. I suppose he could submit the evidence anonymously to the school board et al as well. Not that I advocate any of this. Smoking in the school is banned, but why would somebody want to expose the teacher because they do it outside? Drinking is bad, most teachers do that outside also. What they do privately is none of your concerns, just like doctors, firemen, police, ect. Its none of our business what they do in private. Punk-in-Drublic
We used to have a teacher who smoked, soundest teacher we ever had, we knew full well that he smoked because he used to go out and have a fag at dinner Legendary guy. Anyway, what difference would it make if your teacher smoked or not?

Hence the reason the term PUBLIC and CAMPUS are peppered throughout my posts. Unless of course he tries to catch her smoking in her car after she leaves, then that won't hold up too well, but proves the point he was after nonetheless. buffalosoulj4h20
I had a favorite teacher who smoked. She wouldn't let me smoke with her until I was a Senior. Chill person. I would stick up for her whenever dumbasses would lecture her about how bad it is to smoke. Not a health teacher though.
Guns N R0se
My teacher in 6th grade went out to his car and smoked between classes, he was really cool though. The only rule in his class was don't touch his Mountain Dew
Chunk
My primary school headmaster smoked, we seen him puffing away out on the playground one day before the smoking ban. You could smell the tobacco on him as well, but none of us really cared. He was an alright fella.
Saggy
My high school English teacher asked to bum a smoke off me once. When I said, "I don't smoke," he said, "Cut the sh*t, I can smell cigarettes on your jacket." Thing was it was my mom's, but one of my friends that was with me gave him one so it was all right. Not the literal term, but they are annoying. By the age of 34 you should know that cigarettes can kill you, you don't need Freshmens to tell you everyday. XAF226
I actually don't understand what people enjoy in cigarettes. I see 13 and 14 year old kids smoking that every day after school. In 8th grade I had and English teacher who smoked, drank, and was possibly bi-polar. She randomly yelled at kids and one day after school I went back in the classroom for my jacket but it smelled like a crackhouse!

It made you look cool, what makes you cool has drastically changed. Back then it was a cig, black jacket and sunglasses Now in order to be cool, you must exaggerate your family problems, self mutilate yourself and listen to crappy bands where they have one dumbass singing softly and another dumbass yelling out the top of his lungs, I went a little off topic. I am just gonna say that I thought all my teachers were bipolar...its almost like they hate their jobs and constantly say they "love it"
Shaunr
if she has a problem with smoking then getting her to admit it to everyone could cause her to want to stop, so you could be saving several years of her life. if i were you, i would try to get her to admit it. and how? ask her for the truth. if she says no then be like, "oh, sorry. it's just you smell like cigarette smoke and, well, you cough a lot." After you say that, and she is a smoker, then she will either give some excuse, or tell you the truth. you also said that you asked her if she smoked and her answer was not an answer to your question. it seems she does not want to lie. lt_yao
It's her own choice, but she's doing the right thing and is trying to keep you away from it. Seriously, she's just teaching you about the efects of it and your job is to understand the possible effects and dangers, when you're 18 or whatever legal age to smoke, it's your choice if you wanna kill yourself or not. I personally don't smoke and am against it, I don't mind people who smoke. I drink alot though... So really it doesn't matter, it would be either alcohol or cigarettes that would kill me... And really... It's her job, so please, at least pretend that you're interrested or some crap, don't ruin her life.
d0mm2k8
I hate the way people make weed seem worse than tobacco. On-topic though, she's a hypocrite. I hate hypocrites. Except when I'm one. Then it's ok.

Pico
I'm sure it's been said but it basically goes like this: Every one knows smoking is bad for your health. Every one makes dumb decisions. Are you stupid for not listening to wise, common knowledge? Yes, but some things you can't help. I'm 23 years old in less than two months and I just started smoking like 6 months ago. I've grown up with both my parents and an older brother smoking for as long as I can remember. I always thought it was stupid, but I picked it up. Does that make me an idiot? Sure. Does it make me saying don't do it invalid? No. It makes me a hypocrite, yes, but it doesn't negate the truth that smoking is bad for your health. The same argument you're doing is the same on most kids have with their parents. "You do it, so why can't I?" I never understand that because I knew that chances are up to a certain point my parents knew better than I did. I understood the fact that even though they did things they said are bad and told me no to do, they were telling me for a reason. I didn't take it as a challenge to prove them wrong, or as a chance to rebel or even take it as they were just dumb hypocrites. I took it for what it was, wise truth. You and your classmates need to understand that. But you seem like one to ride with the crowd and won't bring my points up even if you agree with them. I feel most teachers, specifically high school teachers, are ass holes with power trips. But I feel bad for ones who try and just do their job and have sh*tty little kids give them sh*t. Especially about a personal choice. She's teaching you the dangers of smoking, it's in her curriculum which is probably state mandated. Even if she thought every one should smoke she couldn't tell you to do so, she'd get fired. And if she admitted she does smoke, how's it going to change the fact that she's telling you not to? So you know she's just being a hypocrite? Big f*cking deal, you all already have your mind set that she is. Get over it. It's obvious she's findind it really hard to quit smoking so she's doing what's right as a teacher and that is to tell them to never smoke. She can be a prime example of how you suffer if you smoke instead of being a promoter of smoking.
